As the voices of the two aliens faded away as they both hurriedly departed he realized from what he had overheard that it was the new year which cleared up some of the confusion he had about what year it was confirming it was the first day of age 737 and also that Goku was born in 736.

This meant he only had less than 2 years instead of the initial 3 years he had erroneously estimated previously to get ready to escape Planet Vegeta. The original Broly had escaped the planets destruction by deploying a unique technique to him, the Ki Barrier which was strong enough to withstand the force of the exploding planet and escaped into space with his father Paragus.

He of course had no plans on helping Paragus escape since he had eventually placed a mind control ring to assure his own safety but later he made plans which reduced Broly to a pawn that he could employ to help him achieve universal domination. Such a power hungry bastard he would never help, but that didn't mean he couldn't take someone else with him.

After all he had a long road ahead of him and he didn't plan to travel all by himself. Perhaps over the next 2 years destiny would intervene and he would meet just the right person to take with him when he made his escape but only time would tell.
