26 Frieza's Fear

"Listen Jewel, I promise I'll help you deal with Ginyu Force, for it seems we won't be working for Frieza much longer since it is now quite clear that he doesn't trust us at all, what with him putting surveillance devices in every piece of hardware he gives us."

Hearing his promise of aid filled Jewel with another burst of warmth, but as she started to smile hearing him continue to name the origin of the surveillance devices she had discovered caused it to morph into a blank expression, her eyes widening in disbelief. "What, you mean all of those surveillance devices I removed were from Frieza, but why, why would he do that Broly?"

Wearing a solemn expression, Broly paused momentarily before continuing to explain the hidden truth behind Frieza's treacherous actions. "Because Frieza has since childhood heard stories about are powerful ancestors, the Legendary Super Saiyans who possess immense power far greater than his own which has caused him to fear for his own life. And now as he watches us slowly getting stronger despite are population remaining low he has begun to worry about the future and the possibility of another Super Saiyan being born who could threaten his existence. So in his paranoia he has ordered surveillance devices to be installed within all devices given to us Saiyans so that he can constantly monitor us and to constantly search for the appearance of any so-called Super Saiyans."

Learning of the treacherous true nature of Frieza seemed to only fuel Jewels hatred of him and his forces for an angry grimace appeared on her face as she clenched her dainty hands tightly in angry before with a shout she smashed he right fist into a nearby stone wall creating a small crater around her fist surrounded by a radiating web of cracks. "DAMN HIM! We should have known that Frieza would act this way, what a coldhearted devil! It's been seven years since he annexed our race, reducing us to his personal intergalactic mercenaries and even though we have sacrificed untold numbers of are brethren, conquering thousands of planets and aliens races for him he still doesn't trust us after everything we've done, after everything we've sacrificed for him! what a merciless fiend and all because he fears the appearance of another Super Saiyan from are legends."

Alas how fate makes light the works of mortals, playing with them despite their utmost efforts thought Broly to himself, for he already knew what fate the future held in store for Frieza. Ironically in his paranoia, Frieza's actions now would lead to his own downfall and the return of the Super Saiyans spoken of in Saiyan legend. Roughly 25 years from now Frieza and Son Goku would meet on Planet Namek and during the ensuing conflict, with the pure rage he feels for the death of his best friend Krillin at Frieza's hand fueling him Son Goku will miraculously make the breakthrough to Super Saiyan. This will lead to the defeat of Frieza and with it the end of an era of oppression and the rise of a new legend.

Seeing Jewels face fill with a myriad of emotions while her shoulders began to sink as she realized the gravity of the situation and the bleakness of the Saiyan's future Broly sighed heavily before saying, "Jewel, in truth despite how horrible the situation may currently seem you have nothing to worry about for you have met me. No matter what terrors we will face in the comings years I will always protect you so you can rest assured that regardless of what the future may hold in store for you, it will not end because of one measly Frieza."

Hearing Broly reassure her filled her with immeasurable joy and despite his appearance as that of a mere infant she instinctively felt she was completely safe for she had come to realized after interacting with him for half a day that Broly was no typical Saiyan infant and that his power just like his knowledge was truly unfathomable.

However possessing the sensitivity of a child coupled with her racial instincts she realized the sincerity of his words and knew that she had now finally found her rock, who would protect her from whatever the future may hold in store for her. After another hour of meaningless conversation with Broly she suddenly yawned and realized it was time for her to go to sleep. As she drifted off to sleep only a few dozen feet away from Brolys incubator, for the first time in her life since her parents died, she fell asleep on a dry pillow, wearing a smile on her lovely face.
