Chapter 2

"She's losing consciences, sir," a lady said

"It's fine just keep working" a man replied.

"But sir? She could die if we do-"

"We are this close to what we've been working on! I'm not going to throw that away because she's losing a little blood! Understood?"

"Yes, sir"

Silence filled the room. All I saw was white and blue. All I could feel was the pain, and like my sanity was slipping away from me. All I could hear was my heartbeat going faster and faster as if it was going to explode. 'Why am I here?' 'What's happening to me?' 'Why do I feel so empty and cold?' But then my thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice.

"Are you really going to do this? Just for some power, sir," another guy said

"We could take over everything, and nobody will look down on us ever again. This is very crucial, William."

"But sir she i-"

"You think I care?! She's just another science experiment..."

Those words echoed in my ear over and over. 'Just another science experiment' those words hurt more than what they did to me. 'Just another science experiment'...

The girl jerked her head out off the bed breathing hard with tears in her eyes. She looked around in panic, to finally realize it was just a dream. She then went to touch her stomach where the wound was, but she couldn't. Looking down, she noticed straps on her hands, feet, and waist. Then what sounded like footsteps going down the hall, got closer and closer. She yelled, pulled, kicked, and struggled to get free, but then her head slowly dropped and she stopped like she was in deep thought. She looked back up and gave a strong glare at the straps on her arms as if she was waiting for something to happen. But before anything could, a guy came in with two guards behind him. Then he spoke bold and clear "I'll get straight to the point. Who are you? And what business do you have being here?!"

The girl sat there swallowed in fear and didn't speak a single word. She finally processed what the man said, and in response she gently shrugged. Then one of the guards behind Henry questioned sarcastically, "Oh, so you just showed up in the middle of the woods, bleeding out-"

"I-" the girl cut in, but was too frightened to continue.

"-with men chasing you and you don't know?!"

"Gillian. That's enough." Henry demanded.

"I don't know!" she trembled in fear. A silence grew in the room, and every eye was on her. "Y-" she faltered. "You don't know my business, and you won't understand even if I tried to tell you.

"Then help us understand." Henry comforted, "and we can hel-"

"No." She blurted out. "No one can help me."

Her head steered away from his direction; while trying to blink away tears. "No one can."
