Leon opened his eyes widely when the figure got close enough and let him notice that it had the size and shape of a human. It wasn't short like Darya, so it wasn't an inhabitant of that world. Still, Leon didn't drop his guard because the soldiers of that world were constantly increasing their powers since they were always fighting against the harvesters. Besides, that figure was making the space around him vibrate... it looked to be a man and Leon saw something like that before.
"The fire titan..." Leon murmured.
"The flames of the fire titan certainly make the air around him vibrate," Darya murmured. "But, it looks like you forgot the difference in size..."
That was true, so Leon nodded. The fire titan was like one hundred meters tall, while that figure didn't look taller than Leon, who was just 1,75 meters tall. Despite that, Leon was certain that something was off regarding the titans. Would Leon grow like them if he gets stronger physically? Leon couldn't imagine or explain why someone grew so much, just increasing strength and endurance...
"That armor…" Darya frowned.
For some reason, that man was approaching the island they were using. That was bad, even though it couldn't be helped, it would be a pain to build another base in another island. Putting such worries aside, Leon also recognized the pieces of equipment on the legs of that man... it was the same gear the fire titan was using. Since Darya recognized the circlet, the sword, and the other pieces of armor, it became clear that figure was the fire titan... in a smaller version. Its body didn't look like it was made of magma, as one could think to look for a safe distance. His body was emitting some heat, but the blazing inferno that he used as armor and to scare his opponents disappeared. Leon didn't see his upper body before, but now he could see a beard... it was kind of disappointing, but his beard wasn't on fire.
"We always wondered why they could be so big..." Darya murmured. "They probably use some kind of skill to grow their size and increase their overall strength."
"It looks like a very useful skill," Leon nodded. "Since it could make it grow his weapons and equipment while increases his range."
Leon was itching to use Appraisal on that guy and see its status... he wanted to see how strong a being that could invade other planets could be. However, if Leon uses Appraisal, he would cancel Mana Concealment. Although that man was someone who chose to increase his physical stats, he probably had good instincts and would feel Leon's presence.
"I see now… that man is just another person who managed to survive the arrival of the system. He is just like any sentient being… he just probably lived a lot more than any of us, but other than that, nothing is different. The fire titan is just a being capable of dying, made of bones and flesh…"
It was obvious, but Leon never thought that way. Still... he wasn't an opponent Leon could defeat now. Someone who could give Leon the answers he wanted was nearby, but at the same time, it was very far away from him.
"The fire titan always fights for two days, but then he disappears and usually only returns after four days," Darya said. "Our soldiers analyzed him, and he always retreats when his health or stamina dropped to twenty-five percent of his total energy... this is the best chance to attack him, and I doubt that we will obtain such a chance again."
Leon was aware of that fact, but even though the fire titan was on a weakened state, it wasn't enough. Leon himself would observe and study the targets of that level, formulate a plan, and only after that. He would challenge the creature. He couldn't attack without a plan and when a friend was nearby. So, Leon shook his head.
Leon and Darya would be forced to abandon that place and the plants, even though Leon had thousands of samples inside his magic box, it would be a pain to create another base. Still, much to their surprise and luck, the fire titan woke up a few hours later and then just left...
"Phew… that was tiresome." Darya got rid of the sweat on her forehead after she left the hole.
"I thought he would feel the presence of the plants… I guess his senses aren't that good." Leon rubbed his chin. "A surprise attack will definitely work… in any case, let's watch our surroundings day and night from now on. If he returns, we cannot let him surprise us."
Fortunately, the hut they created was in the center of the island, well-hidden by the dense forest Leon and Darya created. Even to find the plants, would have to walk for a while to see the plants... that caution was what saved Leon and Darya's base.
Although they just learned two awesome spells, they didn't feel like celebrating anymore. They needed to train more because without defeating creatures like the fire titan, Leon would never return to Earth as soon as he wants and Darya would never be truly free. To reach their goals, they needed even more power and diligence... so, they resumed their training.
