Now that Leon and Darya learned about the spells they found at the research center, Leon started to wonder if it wasn't about time to make his preparations to take down a harvester. The problem was, according to Darya, that while he was powerful, the teamwork of the soldiers would make it impossible for him to defeat them alone. If that was the case, could he take down a monster that could fight against hundreds perhaps thousands of those soldiers for two days straight? The answer was no. However, it has been one year since Leon was summoned to this world. Since he could use magic items made of mithril to counter the harvesters' skills, he needed to work on that as soon as possible.
"Darya, how many harvesters are attacking this world?" Leon asked.
"Six, three others are like the fire titan, creatures that control other elements to strengthen themselves," Darya answered. "The remaining two can't control the elements their bodies like that, but in what they lack in flashy attacks and appearance, they compensate with the strength and savagery. The government didn't reveal this kind of information, but I'm pretty sure they may have come from the same galaxy."
"What makes you think that?" Leon asked.
"Because they appeared at the same time in this world," Darya answered. "Because they are all giants and never fight against themselves, even though their goal is the same. Sometimes, they will argue in the middle of the battle, but nothing more."
"So, they come from a galaxy that was probably wiped out from a real harvester," Leon said. "Their planets probably were assimilated by the system around the same time… that is why they decided to work together to have their revenge. They are training here to obtain the power necessary."
"The chances of that being the case are certainly high." Darya nodded.
"… Based on what you said, it is safer to assume the battles against the harvesters that are more savage will probably be less difficult for me." Leon said. " While I would probably cause more damage to the fire titan using ice attacks, his fire attacks could kill me with ease, unless a level up my Fire Resistance a lot."
Leon's first targets would be those will be those two harvesters, but Leon would have to make some preparations since they were working together, he would have to defeat them faster. Although Darya knew a few things they could do, Leon felt that things would be more convenient if he sees them himself in action. However, that was another problem. It was impossible to determine when and where the harvesters would attack.
"There are too many questions I need to solve before fighting those monsters, but one thing is certain… I will need Haste and Slow to defeat them."
"In the end, my best option is to strike them by surprise," Leon said. "But we will have to use the soldiers of this world as a distraction… so, they will also have a chance to kill the harvesters."
"To attack them by surprise and knock them down, you will have to use one hell of a spell, too," Darya added. "I don't think we have enough mana to do that, and if we try to carry those containers filled with mana liquid, we will be spotted with ease."
"You are right… by the way, do you intend to fight alongside me against the harvesters?" Leon frowned.
"Of course," Darya answered.
"Why? You may end up dying, you know." Leon said.
"Well… we are f-friends, right?" Darya looked away a bit embarrassed. "It is only natural to help a friend."
Leon could only shrug and laugh a little after hearing that, even though Darya sometimes says things without thinking, she had a great sense of responsibility. She felt indebted to Leon, so she wanted to repay the favor. Although they didn't do much in the past few months but train and learn more spells, Darya felt like she had been alive like never before. That being said, Leon had no intention of putting a friend in danger. So, he would make sure to keep Darya out of the harvesters' sight.
"First things first... we have to collect intel without being noticed," Leon said. "The frontline probably has some means to observe enemies from a distance, so we have to find a way to counter that."
"Yes... the only way to find the harvesters without letting them notice us is by looking for them near the coast of the continent." Darya nodded. "We will have to move quite a bit, and we won't be able to find them without using mana. So, we can't use Mana Concealment."
There were two ways to solve that problem, learning the Invisibility spell, or create a magic item. Neither of them would be easy, not even creating a magic item since Leon and Darya didn't know a monster that had such ability. But then Leon recalled the fact that those choppers were made of mithril, and they could become invisible. Creating a helicopter made of mithril wouldn't be easy, and it would take more than a few days... Still, Leon couldn't help but feel excited about building his own vehicle. Although he was already twenty-seven, some things would never change in a man's heart and mind.
