Chapter 224: Dear Old Father...

Nero and Sophia entered an old ancient shop in the middle of the street, and they were welcomed by a vintage aroma that filled their lungs.

As they were on their way to leave the kingdom, Nero decided to drop by at the shop and learn some knowledge about the secret behind the bed mattresses. He sent Emilia and Asteria to get a lovely carriage.

At first, Nero himself was going to choose a carriage and horses, but Emilia insisted she wanted to do the shopping this time. Although, she only wanted a nice and big carriage so she could have sex with Nero.

"Welcome…" an old man greeted Nero as he came out from under his desk.

Nero glanced around the store, but he couldn't see anything special about the shop. It looked just like an ordinary mattress shop where one brewed mattresses with cotton or any soft material.

"We are here for—"

Nero tried to tell the man the reason why he was there, but the old man interrupted Nero and said, "I know why you are here…"

'Did Horus inform him?' Nero wondered. 'Although, if anyone is in a mattress shop, then, of course, they would be there to buy mattresses.'

"...Zeus," the old man added after a brief pause.

Nero knitted his brows and wondered, 'I haven't told Horus my real name, so there is no way someone in this kingdom should know my name.'

He frowned his face and asked, "How do you know my name?"

"That is not an important question. You are here for something, right?" the old man turned to a shelf and took out a key. He looked at Sophia and said, "How are you doing, Sophia?"

Sophia made a disgusted look on her face and hid behind Nero to avoid the old man seeing her. Nero wanted to obliterate the old man, but he wanted to confirm something.

"Are you Chronos?" Nero asked with a curious yet calm and straight look on his face.

"No. I am not him, and he is not here either," the old man replied. "He is currently fighting with a mechanical god in another universe."

The old man walked to a closet and opened the door with the key. Then, he turned it to Nero and Sophia and said, "This is the secret material used in my mattress."

Sophia furrowed her brows and glared at the old man after seeing what was in the closet. While Nero raised his brows and shrugged his shoulders.

The closet had intact angel's wings inside it, and blood was dripping from the edges of the wings, almost as though they were recently plucked out.

"I had already guessed it would be something like this," Nero uttered nonchalantly. "Only divine things can do divine things."

The old man squinted his eyes and smiled at Nero. Then, he suddenly stopped smiling and uttered, "So, if you want to know the correct method, you will have to give me something in return."

"How much do you need?" Nero had no problem with money as he was the walking mine that produced crystals worth hundreds of coins.

"No. No. No." The old man shook his head and continued, "Noot money. I need…" He looked at Sophia and said, "…more wings."

SNAP!

Nero snapped and killed the old man.

He placed his hand around Sophia's shoulder and said, "Let's go."

"What's the hurry?" the voice rang into the store.

Then, the body parts of the old man started moving and slowly gathered in one spot. They slowly started regenerating, and the old man once again said with the same creepy smile on his face: "What's the hurry?"

Nero let out a weary sigh and asserted, "I don't care who you are or what you are. Nor I am interested in your stupid game nor in your filthy mattresses. So if you don't want to die, which is not going to happen because I am totally going to kill you, and even if you regenerate, I will kill you again and again until you run out of your power!"

"Ohohoho~" the old man laughed sinisterly. "So you have finally awakened your void powers too."

Nero's left eye got open when he got angry and started yelling at the old man.

Nero once again frowned his face and activated his god's eye to scan the old man. However, the old man seemed to be an ordinary human.

"Impossible!" Nero rendered a void ball in his hand and threw it at the old man. The void ball devoured the old man, but seconds later, he came out as if nothing had ever happened.

Nero hated this kind of people, who were born with a special ability to foresee the future or read into people's minds. They had a counterattack to everything, and even the gods couldn't do anything against them.

"Now, now…" the old man patted his clothes which he conjured after getting out of the void ball, and said, "You shouldn't use your void powers on such trivial matters. You don't know when it can fire back at you."

Nero knitted his brows as he tried to understand what the old man was talking about. He was aware that using his powers too much always put a strain on his body, but that wasn't something new.

The old man looked into the distance and said, "Even the god of the void was confused by his own emptiness, and that brought an end to him."

Nero decided to leave the old man alone and focus on Sophia, who was standing at the door and waiting for him to come out.

The old man smirked and said, "You should go. Your Emilia is also in trouble right now."

Nero left the store with Sophia and made his way to Emilia and ASteria.

Meanwhile, the old man in the store let out a big sigh and said, "Dear old father…"

The old man's shape, size, and voice changed to what of a beautiful girl whose beauty could even rival any angels. She looked at the closed door and laughed out loud.

"What an interesting meeting after eons," she scoffed. "You haven't changed a bit, father. However…" she looked at her blood-dyed nails and continued, "I can't wait to see this misunderstanding get more messy."

"Dear old Sophia thinks that Emilia is the daughter of Lucifer. However, she is far from wrong. Lucifer has no connection to Emilia whatsoever."

The woman's eyes shined red as her clothes changed. She giggled and added, "Poor Emilia. She is the next victim of 'her' wrath. Let's see how father is going to get out of this mess."
