"Said it again and I will claim your soul." Chaos was death serious when he said that. He was not someone that would threaten their opponent, but he would do exactly what he said.
Therefore on sentence from him, it was enough to make Knox stopped talking, but he glared at Chaos for saying such thing.
Claiming his soul, it meant he would cease to exist, he wouldn't be in this realm anymore or someone that knew him would remember him.
All the memory about him would be wiped out from all the people that knew him, completely. This was one of the reasons why there were not many uproar when people suddenly disappeared, as no one would remember them either, because those shattered souls were not meant to be existed.
Though there was some rare case there was one or two people that still remembered the shattered soul.
All of this happened because of the repercussion of Chaos's decision centuries ago. Knox didn't know for sure what the reason why he got his soul shattered.
However, for Chaos to remind him that it made Knox a little bit upset.
It was not a problem for Knox before, he had agreed with Chaos in the first time they met, he would let him to claim his soul as the last one, because he had a big pieces of his soul in him, which mean, Knox could be said as the creature that was as strong as Chaos, it would be a waste if he claimed his soul now when Knox could help him to get all the shattered souls.
"You will never do that," Knox hissed finally. He looked at the blind and injured man in front of him. "I will not let her do this again to you."
However, as the answer, Chaos placed his hand over Knox's chest and immediately, the pain made him gasped loudly. His movement was so fast, despite his bleeding shoulder and his sightless. He knew exactly Knox position and predicted it precisely.
He didn't look blind at all.
"Stop… it…" Knox gasped loudly, he could feel his head was spinning and his inside was burning. He wanted to push Chaos's hand away, but he didn't have energy to do that, all of his strength was being sucked out of his body.
This was the pain that the shattered soul would go through when Chaos claimed his soul back.
This agony would last longer and it would only grow more unbearable because Knox, literally, almost as strong as Chaos himself.
"Damn it, Chaos… stop it." Knox's voice faltered, he stammered. He didn't want to cease to exist, since it meant he would never see July anymore.
And she would forget everything about him…
Every touches, every kisses, every stories about them and also their feeling…
"Stop Chaos, stop… I understood," Knox gritted his teeth, he tried to fight back, but in this position, there was no way he could counterstrike him…
In this position, he was powerless…
However, when the situation was getting serious and Knox thought it would be the end, the door flung opened, July and Anne entered the room.
"What happened here?" Anne asked, she and July walked closer.
Only then, Chaos retracted his hand from Knox's chest and he fell to the floor, clutching to his chest, gasping for air. His face was so pale.
'Remember this moment.'
The words echoed in Knox' head and no one heard that except of him. Next time he wouldn't be so lucky.
July immediately came to Knox side, while Anne went to Chaos, but none of the women knew exactly the dispute that happened between them, the fact that Knox would cease from existence had they came a little bit late.
======================
"Is Chaos in his room?" that was the first question that Zuri asked July when they met at the kitchen.
It was morning and last night was a chaotic night, unexpected encounter with Nikolai, which led to derange situation between the three of them.
Zuri had to take Nikolai to the hospital for the injuries that he suffered and had to dodge every questions that Nikolai threw at her about Chaos and why he wanted to kill him.
She tried to tell him that it was such misunderstanding and then admitted that he was a supernatural creature. Zuri managed to make Nikolai promised to not say a word about it, but she didn't know whether he could be trusted.
Eight years were enough to change someone. People changed, shit happened and here Zuri was…
"Yes," July replied, she looked at Zuri up and down. "You look horrible."
"Thanks," Zuri murmured, as she poured a glass of water for herself and then gulped it down. "Let me take that."
Anne was putting breakfast on the tray, which meant for Chaos. It was a good excuse for her to talk to him.
"Do you stab him again?" Anne asked Zuri, giving the tray to her.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because he is a jerk," Zuri cursed under her breath and then took the tray from Anne's hand, she walked away from the two women.
After Zuri left the kitchen, July and Anne stared at each other, their brows furrowed.
"I think Chaos did something that upset her," July commented, she shrugged her shoulder, didn't want to be bothered by the two of them, since she had someone that demanded her attention.
Knox had been very sick since last night and July had never seen him sick ever before, while Gael was missing.
The last thing that July heard he went to get Lise back, but she didn't know the detail about it, yet he had asked Sebastian to check on it.
=====================
Zuri entered Chaos room and watched him stood near the window, with only his blue color pants, while his shirt laid on the bed. His long, black hair flutered by the wind, as his shoulder was bandaged tightly.
