That man picked up the paper man, put it into his pocket and then he looked back at me, who was still shocked by the fight.

“As I said, it’s very dangerous late at night, not only for humans but for the ghosts as well.” He gave me a smile.

Then, he picked up the broken umbrella, turned around and walked away.

It was not until that moment I realized that what I smelled on him wasn’t the smell of blood.

It was… the smell of a creature that was not human.

The dream stopped here, as I woke up. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was currently.

Oh, right… I slept in a motel near the school yesterday, but why did I sleep here…

“Ah!” I suddenly sat up and was fully awake.

The female ghost, Chu Bai, she gratuitously possessed me when I was in the alley, and she almost strangled me to death on the street. And last night she——

Is she still here?

I cautiously cleared my throat and asked, “Chu Bai, are you there?”

No one answered me, the room was silent.

I touched my neck, the residual pain from strangulation was still there. I was sure that what happened last night was not a dream.

I forced out a smile and nodded, wondering if Shi Yitong was the only person in this world who could believe such a lame lie.

I smiled and shook my head. “No, I wasn’t talking about this. I heard you accidentally bumped into Liang Kaifeng yesterday.”

“Who is that? I don’t know him.”

“…and you apologized to him.”

“Did… did I?”

“I heard that he now has a crush on you because of your beautiful posture and soft tone. You even asked him if he got hurt.” I couldn’t help but smile. “Of course, because of you, that guy suddenly treats me like a goddess now.”
