Chapter 75 - Rose And The Primordial

In a dark cave, beside a carnage of bodies, a man drank blood from a wine glass. The blue diamond on his head reflected the redness of the room.

A woman clad in tiger clothes sat beside him, holding the dead body of a sturdy looking man.

The man finished off his glass of crimson drink, and licked his teeth clean.

"Do you want some more, Sire?" The woman asked.

The man let out a boisterous laugh, and took hold of the woman's chin in a tight grip.

The woman winced, but remained still otherwise. "Lovely Rose, my dear dear Rose, if I want something from you, I will ask it. And you will give it, otherwise, do remain silent."

The woman nodded.

The man smiled and then bit into his own hand. He then stretched it out towards her lips.

The NPC gasped and looked at his bloody wrist with hungry eyes.

"One gulp. That's it. No more. No less." The man whispered.

She looked at him and gave a soft nod.

The man pressed his wrist to her lips.

The woman's face turned demonic with glowing red eyes, and elongated teeth. Her skin turned grey, and viney.

She bit into his wrist, took a big gulp, and stepped back, longing in her eyes.

The man smiled. "Good girl."

He leaned back against his chair, and sighed. "I am finally full. Now, I am willing to listen to stories. Tell me, my dear Rose, what is Yaksha up to?"

She pursed her lips.

The man's eyes glinted. "Don't tell me you have fallen to his charms like Diana did?"

The woman shook her head. "Sire, Lord Yaksha has gone to witness a fight between a Potential Immortal and other Immortals."

The man raised his eyebrows. "Oh? Did he find his childhood crush then?"

The woman shrugged. "I don't know, Sire. Lord Yaksha went after the Emperor Core is all I know. The girl seemed to have it."

The man spun around. "The Emperor Core?"

"Yes, Sire."

The man cursed, all his grace gone. "That damned bastard! Why can't he be like other lovesick fools and wander around in search of his beloved? Why is he always the one who gets the most important information?"

The woman hesitated. "Lord Yaksha will not be getting the Core though."

The man stilled.

"Why?"

"The 10 Immortals declared a Grandmaster's Battle on the Potential Immortal."

The man snorted in disbelief. "Those people again? Are the Elites so damned weak that those 10 buffoons got all five Emperor Cores?"

The woman shook her head. "I..am not sure?"

The man sighed. He opened his player interface and opened a section termed "Elite Primordials".

There was already a string of messages waiting for him.

The man frowned and opened them one by one.

[From : Lucia Frasier

Does anyone know about this girl those buffoons are after?]

[From: Sage Wine

SelaXiu. No guild association.]

[From: Lightning Simp

Can someone find out where this Veritas is? I keep trying to get there but it tells me I am banned from the place. How is that possible when I can't even remember the place?]

[From: Kavya Resonance

Elites are not able to enter Beginner Villages. Veritas is a Starter Village.]

[From: Lightning Simp

Then why is my device saying Yaksha is there?]

[From: Lucia Frasier

Because he is Yaksha. Haven't you learned yet that the same rules that apply to us, does not apply to him?]

[From: Lightning Simp

What is that supposed to mean? Of course the same rule apply to all the Elites!]

[From: Kavya Resonance

Idiot. It affects the seven of us. Yaksha was never one of us. Idiot.]

[From: Lightning Simp

My lovely woman, can you not see what I can? The bastard is one us. He is an Elite.]

[From: Sage Wine

He is an Elite. But he is The Eighth.]

[From: Lightning Simp

Oh. I forgot that.]

[From: Lucia Frasier

Why are you searching for Yaksha anyway?]

[From: Lightning Simp

Found a few ghosts in my Eastern Tower. Wanted to know why he was sending his minions to spy on me.]

[From: Sage Wine

Me too.]

[From: Kavya Resononce

Yeah. Scared me to death when I stamped on a skull. I hate that I felt ghostly brain matter on my shoes. There was squishing sound. Yuck.]

[From: Lucia Frasier

I found two lurking in the High Castle. What is that man planning?]

[From: Kim Sowo

Everyone! Watch the Grandmaster's Arena Live Feed! It is amazing!]

That was where the messages ended.

He frowned. "Rose?"

"Yes, Sire?"

"Get me a Display of the Grandmaster's Arena from the Guild Market."

"Yes, Sire."

The woman left in a spark of light and returned immediately.

The man laid on the throne, and grabbed a crystal glass off the table.

The Display came on. There was an empty battle field that was broken beyond recognition. Since when is a Potential and an Immortal's battlefield like that? It looked so tor-

His eyes fell on the wriggling thing just across the corner of the screen.

His eyes shook.

No.

No.

It couldn't be.

His heart started to pound.

Though The Other World was the updated version of the Primordials game they all used to play, there was not much of actual proof of it. The players of the Primordials would get a simple "Primordial" title when they levelled to 70. Those who reached Level 99 in the Primordial would get the title "Elite Primordial".

The only proof they did have was the Heavenly Fire that Yaksha had. Which the idiot gave to his beloved big brother.

But now, there it was…another proof.

A Spirit Pet. The Spirit Pet!

"Who does that belong to?" he asked, pointing towards the wriggling root.

"Um.." Rose looked at her list of names. "That…belongs to SelaXiu."

SelaXiu…the similarity of that name to hers….

His mind went to that summer.

A figure dressed in all white, with dark black, long hair fluttering in the wind, thrust their sword into the White Dragon's heart.

A mechanical voice echoed in his mind. [Player Selafia has slayed the Eternal Dragon, and has reached the end of the Dao. She has seen the truth of power, and the source of power. All that will begin shall end. Player Selafia Upgraded!

Selafia has become the first player to reach Level 100 in the Primordials Journey!

Selafia is titled "The True Primordial" by the Great Buddha!]
