Chapter 109 - Jin Er

The healer troll jumped towards her, releasing the chain once more.

Cheng Xiu raised the long sword and dashed towards the healer.

The healer swung the weapon, preventing Cheng Xiu from making much progress as a large indentation appeared in front of her.

Cheng Xiu stepped to the side and dashed forwards again.

The healer troll jumped back and aimed towards Cheng Xiu's heart, as she threw the iron ball towards her person.

Cheng Xiu used the longsword's blade to deflect the weapon.

The healer glared at the woman in front of it.

The longsword and the shield would always be able to block the mace that it held. This was because it was the one that ordered for their weapons to be commissioned like that. Even though in other Troll Squads, the healer has the sturdiest weapon of the group, it had wanted its Sword and Shield to be able to have the same sturdiness of its weapon.

The logic had been simple. If the sword and the shield are as sturdy as its weapon, then the chances of the Healer having to use the weapon would be reduced.

There was also the fact that it had cared about its comrade more than most Healer Trolls.

And now its kindness and caring was the reason why the human was able to withstand its attacks, and it was not able to avenge its brethren.

Cheng Xiu dashed forwards again, keeping the sword parallel to the floor.

The Troll stepped back and swung its weapon again.

Cheng Xiu dodged.

She smirked.

The healer troll looked at her expression that said she had figured something out with trepidation. That expression did not bode well for the troll that it was aimed at.

And that was indeed that case, as the human cultivator dashed towards the healer Troll at full speed.

The troll tried to step back and throw its weapon once more but the human was faster, and the healer troll was unable to block the upward thrust of the longsword.

The healer grunted in pain as the longsword pierced through its collarbones.

Cheng Xiu frowned and pulled the sword out. The healer actually bent its knees a lot just so that the weapon would attack the collarbones instead of the heart, where the blade was actually aimed at.

The healer troll grunted in pain but otherwise did not indicate that the yellow blood that flowed out of its wound had anything to do with the creature.

"So figured it out," the healer said.

Cheng Xiu smiled. "I have figured out many things. You will have to be a bit more specific than that."

The troll nodded. "My backward jumps."

Cheng Xiu's eyes widened in enlightenment, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes. You can't use that weapon of yours to its full potential without there being a great distance between you and your enemy."

The healer nodded.

Cheng Xiu dashed towards the healer again, trying to use her superior speed to its full advantage.

The healer troll stopped using the mace and engaged Cheng Xiu with her weapon's metal club form.

Their attacks started to turn vicious after that, with lacerations and broken bones.

Cheng Xiu's skin started to be littered with small cuts from the flying debris.

But the one that was getting constantly hurt was the healer as the wounds on its body grew in number. Though it was a healer, it was not able to heal itself because that was how Troll magic worked.

The troll always carried around healing talismans because of that but the constant engagement of the blade and the club prevented it from healing itself.

The leader troll realised that its group healer was in real trouble and looked towards the left of his shoulder, and eyed the troll with the green tunic that stood gawking at the fight.

The troll walked over to the leader.

"Contact the named ones," the leader said with a grim look on his face.

The troll looked at the leader with shocked eyes.

"But sire, they are-"

"Our comrades are dying," the leader said with a grim face. "If it is the only way to save our people we should sacrifice some things."

The troll bent to the floor and took a single broken tile from the debris that flew off around them because of the repeated attacks of the Healer and the human cultivator. It then took a small cotton piece with writings on it from its pocket and tied it around the tile shard.

The troll murmured something, and the writings on the clothing disappeared into the tile. The tile glowed red.

The Troll threw the tile into the air.

Every troll in the audience watched the tile flip over and fall onto the golden ring.

A golden portal opened up in its place.

A single man looked out of the portal towards the leader Troll. "You called, sire?"

The leader nodded. "Yes, young one. Contact the named ones to come into the castle ruins."

The young Troll's eyes widened. "Come to the castle? What about the human cultivator that we-"

"This is an emergency. Bring the human cultivator while you are at it. We might be able to get out of this situation if we use this opportunity right."

Though the young Troll was confused about the leader's words, he gave the leader Troll a respectful bow and left.

A few minutes of silence later, a line of trolls came in.

Cheng Xiu and the healer Troll stopped their fight to look towards the new arrivals.

These trolls looked quite different from the ones so far. They all wore a yellowish-white tunic and held maces and mullets as their weapons.

Cheng Xiu wondered why these ones looked different.

The healer troll looked towards the newcomers with a complicated look on her face. She could not believe that the fight with a single human cultivator put their entire team at such a risk that the leader had to contact the named ones.

The named ones were specialists of their Troll Colony and were only pulled into combats when things were too volatile and the leader realised the only way to win against an opponent is to bring them in.

As they were called, the speciality of these Trolls was the fact that they were all named by the Queen of the Colony. It gave them the ability to heal on their own, and talk with those who were also named using telekinesis.

Cheng Xiu's eyes widened as she realised that the trolls at the end brought in a person in shackles.

It was a woman that could be described as cute, with slightly chubby cheeks and a round body. Her hair was light brown and tied into twin buns on the sides of her head. There was a single leaf design between her brows in a light green colour. The woman wore a pale pink martial dress that was intrinsically designed. It made Cheng Xiu realise that the girl must be from a wealthy family or she was a really powerful cultivator.

The woman looked up and observed the surroundings with a despondent look until they found Cheng Xiu. The woman stilled for a moment and observed her from head to toe.

It was the slight push from the Trolls that held her in the shackles that made the woman stop just staring at the white-robed woman.

"What is a human doing in the Primordial Space!" the woman asked with a shocked exclamation.

Cheng Xiu raised her brows. So this was the woman that she was supposed to save?

"You!" the pink-robed woman exclaimed. "What are you doing in here!"

Cheng Xiu frowned. This woman was a bit rude to a cultivator.

"Did my father send you!" the woman kept talking. "Let me tell you, little girl, I, Jin Er, came willingly with Liso, and will not return to get married off to that pompous man that he selected for me!"

Cheng Xiu sighed. So this was a bear child. A bear Child was someone who was disobedient to their parents, and Cheng Xiu always admired people who could just straight up defy their own parents.

Cheng Xiu always caved when her own parents…her father demanded something from her. She was just lucky that he never really asked anything bad of her, and just wanted her to follow her heart. And it would seem that this woman, Jin Er, did not have that kind of freedom.

"I am Selafia, and I don't know what you are talking about," Cheng Xiu said to the woman. The reason she made that statement so obvious was to know more about the situation.

Cheng Xiu had realised that there was something more going on in this round of the Golden Ring battle than the others.

While the first ring had a baby Zombie, it was still mobs of NPCs in the end. The second one had a vengeful dead Dire wolf that tried to use battle strategies to fight against her, but it was still a mob.

The third ring, though it seemed like a mob at first, seemed more of something important to the game overall, and not just something that keeps appearing with every new player. Unless that was the case.. If it was, then she was really impressed.
