As it turned out, Gu Shu was right and Cheng Xiu was the owner of that gaming pod.
Gu Shu called her father to ask him about the certificate and found out that it was in Gu Shu's bag where the maid had put it in.
That led to an hour of scolding from Cheng Xiu about how she never checked her belongings.
Gu Shu left half way through because he couldn't listen to it anymore.
San Zhe left soon after as it was not appropriate to stay in the room after Gu Shu left.
Cheng Xiu applied for the Repairing of Gaming Pod that TOW offered and picked up a book to read only to end up asleep.
The next day was more sedated. Ren Dao briefly showed his face but he did not stay to talk as he did before, Gu Shu left for her home saying she had a guest that she had to entertain and San Zhe had classes.
Cheng Xiu picked up her books and spent a long while studying, and sleeping when she started to develop a headache and then picked up the book again to study.
This routine lasted until she had to go meet the doctor that evening and she was given the all clear.
The doctor had a suspicious look on his face as he recorded how fast her recovery was, but he did not give it as much thought as he probably should have as he did not think it was a bad thing to have an improved healing effect.
San Zhe invited her to play TOW after he heard that she could now really play.
Yaksha said that he was a bit busy and that he would meet them directly under the Clock Tower.
Cheng Xiu grabbed her old VR helmet and dived into the world of fantasies again.
She felt the connection of Qi come back online and smiled. Even though it had only been a few times she really enjoyed the feeling of connecting with Qi. It gave her a sense of belonging that she did not experience in the real world.
Cheng Xiu blinked and found herself standing in a clearing.
San Zhe stood oposite her in a fitting blue robe, and a black mask.
"Bother San," she said in greeting.
"Come on then," San Zhe said with a smile, "The Clock Tower is this way."
"Where are we? Why did we appear here instead of near that old tree?"
San Zhe looked about, refusing to face her. He was not sure how Cheng Xiu would react to the situation. But it shouldn't be a bad reaction though.
"Lord Yaksha destroyed it."
Cheng Xiu blinked. "Huh?"
"This is the place that the old tree used to exist. It's just that…the tree no longer exists."
Cheng Xiu smiled. "This Yaksha expert is very capable, isn't he?"
San Zhe grinned. "Definitely."
"Let's go then," Cheng Xiu said. "There is no reason to linger."
San Zhe nodded.
The tow of them started to walk towards the hill range again.
The forests got thicker, and the creatures around then became braver.
Cheng Xiu and San Zhe had to kill Flying Squirrls and Exploding Nuts along the way.
Cheng Xiu could not help thinking that it felt like she was doing things the same way again when she borrowed a bow and arrow from San Zhe and killed off the creatures.
But things were different.
She was different.
She could accurately kill the squirrls before they reached her position easily and was able to track down many of the hidden squirrls who had gone cray.
The scerey around them remained the same for a long time.
It got to such a point, that Cheng Xiu, who usually likes to walk in the woods felt cranky.
It was a good thing that they reached a place that was quiet different from what they had seen so far.
It front of them was deeper forest, which would be scary in itself.
What really made things worse was that the entire area was covered up by goop.
Cheng Xiu had enough games to know what this was.
Slimes.
Cheng Xiu shivered in disgust when she heard the watery sound in the thing's movements.
She wasn't sure if it was only one slime or multiple, but she was sure that it was disgusting.
Was this game not based on Cultivation? Why was there Slimes in a Cultivation game?
"Maybe we can look for another way," San Zhe said after taking in the scene in front of them. "These creatures have acids that will corrode anything that it touches."
Cheng Xiu shook her head. "We have been trying to do this quest for way to long. We can't go back now. Let us move forwards."
Cheng Xiu raised her hand and aimed it towards the body of the Slime nearest to her.
"Ghost Flame!" she shouted.
The black coloured flame burst out and consumed the entire body of the creature and burned it away.
Cheng Xiu stopped the skill once she was sure that there was not a single bit was left of that thing. She closed her eyes and consumed the Qi that the flame had created and then smiled.
She could not just feel that her Qi capacity had reached its limit, she could also feel that her muscles, and nerves felt replenished.
She looked towards the Slimes that were attached to the barks of the trees around her with greed.
These things could be her Qi suppliers just like that puppet that she had with her!
Cheng Xiu walked forwards, both her hands being covered with the black flame.
The Slimes shivered as they felt that a predatore was near.
San Zhe stood at the side and watched in a daze as Cheng Xiu burned away thousands of Slimes with passion in her eyes, and a crazed grin on her lips.
He was sure that he even heard her let out an evil laugh at one point.
He was wrong.
She wouldn't be afraid of Lord Yaksha's cold method of disposing the enemy.. It was Lord Yaksha who would be scared off by the crazy girn that Cheng Xiu had on her face as she burned away Slimes of all things.
