Chapter 163 - Control

Cheng Xiu and San Zhe's fight got even more heated as he gained more and more experience as they fought.

He felt like his understanding of himself and the game itself was always flawed. It was not until now that he realised how many mistakes that he had learned over the years that he had spent in the game.

San Zhe's skin gained a silver luster.

Cheng Xiu raised her sword high in the air and attacked San Zhe's neck.

He had improved leaps and bounds while fighting Cheng Xiu but in the end, he was still used to his mistakes and was not as fast as Cheng Xiu was at correcting his posture.

Cheng Xiu's sword blade lightly grazed the skin on his neck, drawing beads of blood from the point of contact.

Before she could cause anymore harm, San Zhe's body disappeared.

Cheng Xiu red eyes blinked and she looked around in confusion. Where did her enemy go?

A figure in black appeared in front of her. A black blade pushed hers away. Though the push was not that hard and Cheng Xiu only stumbled back a step.

Cheng Xiu frowned. This…

"You are resisting the spell," the black masked figure said to her, "But not enough. Are you going to make me do the deeds for you? If so, then why the farce of wanting do this mission without my help?"

Cheng Xiu's eyes became a deeper shade of red.

"Lord Yaksha," San Zhe said from behind him, "You are provoking her! Sister Xiu has already resisted the witch's spell so that she wouldn't attack me! What else can she do? If she could resist the spell completely, she would have done it already!"

Yaksha snorted. "She resisted Frost's Qi Manifestation. Are you telling me, someone who could do that, can not completely resist a Witch's Level 5 spell?"

San Zhe blinked. That was right. Cheng Xiu was able to resist that.

Cheng Xiu frowned. "You…you…"

"Sister Xiu! What is it?" San Zhe asked. Though he wanted to be near her, he was smart enough to realise that would just be like walking into a battle field naked. Just asking for death.

Yaksha knew what she was trying to say without much thought. Didn't you help me before?

"If you are able to resist powers right after knowing you are in an illusion," Yaksha said to her, "then why can you not break free of a spell even though you are not distracted by any illusion?"

Cheng Xiu snarled and raised her sword to hit him.

Yaksha stepped away from her.

San Zhe backed away, and tried to find a way to break the spell that was holding her logic captive.

There was a rumble and a shadowy figure dashed out of the dungeon towards San Zhe.

Yaksha understood the Witch's intention but he did not interfere. He wanted to see what Cheng Xiu would do.

And she did not disappoint.

Cheng Xiu leapt towards Yaksha.

The creature that came to attack San Zhe from behind was another bulky rat.

San Zhe wondered if this was a counsellor rat.

The rat tried to hit San Zhe in the head with a large hammer.

San Zhe raised his trident to stop the attack even though his heart and mind had become numb from the fear.

A red hilted sword cut off the hammer wielding hands.

The creature screamed in pain.

Cheng Xiu let out a war cry as she leapt into the air and embedded her sword into the neck of the creature.

The bulky creature stumbled as Cheng Xiu stood on its shoulders, looking down at it with rage filled red eyes.

Cheng Xiu took out the sword and hacked at the creature's neck again.

The head fell off the body.

San Zhe stared in shock at the blood covered figure Cheng Xiu as the girl stood up from the heap of flesh that used to be the bulky rat.

Cheng Xiu stood there in the dim lit landing of the stairs, head bowed, her sword dripping with blood.

San Zhe just stared. Why did he find the figure of Cheng Xiu was more attractive that the stars on TV at that moment?

Yaksha shook his head. "You are too violent."

San Zhe blinked. "She couldn't help it! Sister Xiu is clearly under the influence of the spell! She wouldn-"

"Is that why you are not resisting the spell so much?" Yaksha asked her. "Do you think this rage filled state gives you more advantage than your usual logical side?"

San Zhe tilted his head. "What?"

Cheng Xiu turned and started to attack Yaksha.

San Zhe gaped.

Even though Yaksha only dodged, it was obvious that he was holding back. What was going on? What were these to thinking?

San Zhe felt like there was an entire conspiracy going on around him and there was no one willing to tell him what was actually happening. They all had their own ideas to do things, and just did it! There was no discussion! No negotiations! Nothing!

Cheng Xiu backed away from Yaksha and looked at San Zhe.

San Zhe froze. Did she hear what he was thinking in his mind? Was she coming towards him to discuss things? He regretted thinking that! He did not want to have any kind of discussions with Mindless Xiu!

Cheng Xiu snarled at him.

San Zhe whimpered in fear, tears falling from his eyes behind the mask. "I am sorry! Please don't kill me!"

Cheng Xiu leapt towards him.

San Zhe screamed and fell to the ground.

Cheng Xiu stepped on his back and used it as a launch pad to kick at Yaksha.

The black robbed man swirled away.

Cheng Xiu snarled. "Fight!"

"I don't take orders from you," Yaksha said in a mocking voice. "You shouldn't step on people to get what you want, Little Sela, that is a very bad habit."

San Zhe wanted to cry. Why was Lord Yaksha speaking like that? What was his purpose in doing these things?

Cheng Xiu snarled at the man and leapt at him.

There was another rumbling noise.

Cheng Xiu's attention was captured. She ran into the dungeon.

San Zhe stared at her disappearing back for a few seconds. It took him time to realise that Cheng Xiu was heading towards danger and that he was supposed to stay by her side.

San Zhe scrambled after her.

"Sister Xiu! Wait for me!"

Yaksha sighed. He walked at a sedated pace towards the direction that the two had gone in.

"Looking after weaklings is so hard," the witch whispered to him.

Yaksha waved his hand, making the illusion disappear.

• * * *

In a wide, pristine white room, a long and handsome figure laid on the bed with his eyes closed. The man had silver hair and very delicate figure. There was a heart monitoring machine at the side that beeped.

The sound of a woman's heel clicked as a woman in pale blue office dress came in. The woman's blue eyes scanned the man as she sat down next to the man. Her hand carressed the man's chin.

"Zheng," she called.

The man's eyes blinked open, revealing a pair of striking blue orbs.

The woman gave him a soft smile. "There is an interesting news that I got from the Main House."

The man blinked.

"Do you want to know?"

The man blinked again. "Xiu Rui is dead."

The man's eyes shook as water gathered at the corner of his eyes.

The woman shushed him as she wiped the tears. "Zheng…my dear Zheng…I told you that she would not be protected forever."

The man glared at her.

The woman laughed. "And you tried so hard too, didn't you love? The entire Xiu family wonders how their family is not able to outdo the resources of a man with a D-Rank reach. Now they find out that they were on Earth all along. They never knew the traitor in their midst. Zheng…in the end, I was successful where your little Rui was not."

The man's eyes became even more vicious.

The woman smirked. "Don't look at me like that. I was not the one who killed your little cousin. She died all on her own, saving some low level children."

The man's eyes filled with warmth at those words.

The woman glared at him. "So happy for it? Well, I have some news for you. She had a kid, and now, Little Ru has gone to get that little brat. The entire Xiu family is in an uproar."

The man just stared at her.

The woman smiled sweetly at him. "You don't get it, do you? When that brat is discovered by Little Ru, the first to know would be me."

The man's eyes widened.

"I have sent your Little Xue with the task. That brat was so happy to fulfill her mother's wish."

The man's eyes shook in fear.

The woman patted his cheeks. "Relax, Zheng. How can Xiu Rui's child be a match for your daughter? The minute that the child is found out, Xiu Xue will end her."

The heart monitoring device started to beep louder.

The woman laughed. "It will be absolutely fun to watch!"
