29 The Three Of Them

As they push Amber inside the facility, a couple welcomed them with Blake. The couple have the same black hair but their eyes were only the same with Ashley who has brown colored eyes. Ashton got his black eyes from Gideon Wright, his grandfather.

Being a doctor, Liana was just momentarily shocked before she helped them on pushing the stretcher. Kyle was equally shocked but he was able to rein in his emotions. But his furrowed brows shows confusion in him.

'They dyed her hair to hide her? But the roots are not showing any sign of a different color.'

He thought back to the past when he met a young Nathalie. It was a simple birthday party for the four year old her. And it was also a secret, since he and Nathan were really close, they wanted their children to meet each other. So a week before the young girl's real birthday they secretly celebrated one.

It was in the secluded vacation house of Nathan's family. Somewhere he and his family would go to, to leave the bustling world of the royals from time to time. It was situated near the beach in Celestial Country.

Despite it being the place where the richest of the rich would live, they were still able to find such an isolated place.

'If I remember correctly her hair color should be...'

"Ashley!!"

His thoughts were then disrupted when he heard Devon call for his precious daughter. Everyone looked to their side, sweat started appearing in her little face as it contorted in pain. She was slump on Devons arms.

Liana who made it a habbit to have her pain reliever with her, took it out from her bag before giving it to Ashley. Her face was calm but her eyes showed pain.

"Mom... will she be... alright?" Ashley weakly asked as she felt the pain go away.

Liana smiled warmly at her, "Don't worry sweety she will be just fine."

She then looked at Kyle and signalled him to bring Ashley to a room, for her to rest.

"I hope you got everything under control," Kyle took Ashley from Devon's arms and said to Ashton.

"Yes father, I will not let this go so easily," Ashton replied as he turned around with Carl.

Seeing as his sister and Amber are already safe, he had to go and face that man who was an accomplice of the kidnappers and those guards who didn't do their part properly.

Devon and Blake followed him, for them Ashley was also their younger sister, how dare those insects kidnap her.

Liana returned inside the room where Amber was and she was shocked to see her awake.

Before she could ask anything, Amber beat her in speaking first. Despite being weak and she couldn't even lift a finger at that she still spoke, "Please... take the cure..."

Liana was first shock before she replied, "But we haven't signed the contract ye-"

She was actually cut off by Amber's chuckle, "It's fine... Your eyes, madam... Looks just like my mother... I know how much in pain... you are for her..."

Liana was not offended from her being cut off by Amber's chuckle, instead she felt emotional as she look at the determination and calmness in Amber's eyes despite what she had just went through.

Adding to that, she was in this condition for saving her daughter as well.

"I..." Liana became teary eyed.

"Please... don't cry now... Let's just presume that I... am giving you my trust... That... you wouldn't run away.. from your responsibility..."

Amber took a deep breath, even speaking was tiring for her.

"Then..."

Amber looked at the other medical personnel. Liana understood the meaning behind this look so she made them temporarily leave the room.

"Where should I send Ashton to retrieve it?" Liana then asked.

Amber very slowly shook her head once, "It's my cerebrospinal fluid, 20 mL... Intravenous Therapy..."

Knowing that she was a doctor, the tired and weakened Amber only needed to say the key words for her to do everything.

Liana who was good in controlling her emotions as a doctor, couldn't help but to cover her mouth. This is unprecedented.

Amber smiled, "After the medicine.... was given to me... my follow up check ups... showed the changes in my... cerebrospinal fluid... Don't worry... the moment the fluid was... extracted it is already... a medicine."

She no longer needed to explain more. Surely Liana understood, the effect of the medicine to her was that her body created an upgraded medicine through her cerebrospinal fluid, something that was protecting a human's brain and spinal cord.

"I understand, I shall ask you for the details, that is if it is okay for you. Once you are in better condition."

"I am too weak... to move... my body..."

Liana nodded as a warm smile appeared on her face, she very delicately turn her on her side. She's obviously very much injured but since she was already given first aid, this much wouldn't be too much.

Liana didn't turn her down either, Ashley was still very much more important to her. But she would be very much grateful to this brave girl. She took the syringe for this kind of extracting and professionally extracted the said amount.

But it didn't escape her eyes the way her eyes tightly closed and her teeth gritted. Even the trembling of her whole body.

Liana instantly understood the reason behind the three year promise, it was not to intentionally prolong it but because they wanted time for this young girl to get over her trauma.

Multiple extractions and insertion of syringes, multiple tests until they reached the final cure. This young brave girl in front of her, must have suffered far greater than her very own child.

But in the end her kindness was unmatchable.

The contract was not yet made. They could have runaway after this. But she still chose to help the little girl who was suffering just like her in the past. She chose to look over everything to fulfill a promise she didn't make.

By the time Liana turned her to her back, Amber was already unconscious. She called for the other medical personnel to treat Amber as she walk up to the room where Ashley was sleeping.

"What happened?" Kyle asked the moment he saw the complicated look on his wife's face.

"That girl, gave me the medicine."

The two of them fell silent, before looking at their sleeping daughter. They didn't doubt that Amber had truly given it to them. No one was mad enough to actually joke about this things, especially to the royals.

"Ashton have said that she explained that she had a full year of pain. That the cure was worst than the illness. But she also explained that such side effect of the medicine was tremenduously lowered. Maybe at the same level as her attacks."

Both of them are still nervous about this. The pain would last longer than her attacks, their little angel would suffer so much.

"It's fine, mom, dad, after that last pain I would be cured anyway," the then supposed to be asleep Ashley, spoke.

She opened her eyes and within them was the determination that she would take on this challenge.

"Sweetie, we will be tying you completely immobile before we administer it. So that even if the pain was too much, you wouldn't have any other damage. Do you understand?" Liana approached her and spoke in a gentle manner.

"I'm always ready mom," Ashley replied.

Little did the three of them know, just how lethal this cure was.

For the parents, they felt like knives were being stabbed at their hearts over and over again in her every scream.

For the child, she thought she was used to it and could endure it, who would have thought that the pain indicated was actually the highest level of pain from her illness?

On the other hand, due to the damage she received, Amber was asleep for a good two weeks. Or maybe it's not only due to the damage but due to the extraction process as well. The trauma returned to her and her body's instant reaction was for her to go in a deep slumber.

Her right leg was in a cast, the same goes for her left arm. Other than these two, the other damages were bruise and wounds. She would surely heal in a month or two of rest.

The family spent one agonizing week before Ashley's shouts finally subsided. Other than the family of four, only Devon and Blake were present.

There are guards who accompanied the parents from Celestial Country, but they were in the shadows making sure no one would suspiciously approach the mansion.

It was also a good thing that the room Ashley was in, was soundproofed. Despite her loud shouts, their neighbors, if there are any, who were tens of meters away, was not bothered.

As Liana wipe Ashley's body that was filled with sweat, giving her at least a bit of comfort, "Now we can only wait. If there would be an attack then everything is void."

Despite their respect and amazement in what Amber have done, she was still a stranger to her. So after what Ashley have went through, she wouldn't forgive that young girl if this doesn't work.

Kyle knew what was going in her mind, but he couldn't say anything. He couldn't say that her most trusted friend and doctor was actually Amber's mother.
