37 A Hundred Million

"Amber."

"Yes yes I understand," she raised her hands upon hearing his serious tone.

"I didn't know we have visitors so I tried to crack your friend's face. I'm sorry if that gave your heart an attack," she looked at them and apologized lightly.

Devon was still staring at her as he slowly shakes his head. Blake was wiping his mouth as he too shakes his head.

"Can I also have some tea?" she nonchalantly asked as she looked at Carl.

He nodded and prepared another cup.

"Shouldn't you be going home by now?" Ashton asked as he watched her walk to the sofa opposite Blake and Devon.

"After bringing me here, you're already kicking me out? Waaahhhh that's harsh you know," she complained as she flop down on the soft couch.

Carl gave her the filled cup, "Thank you very much."

Blake and Devon was still staring at her.

They have seen only one woman who was so close to Ashton. But she was far far different from this person, Amber has this jolly laid back attitude that no matter how much Ashton turns cold she was facing him head on.

Even the three of them Alger included, could no longer speak once he became cold.

"It's better to have companion who does not worry," she once again said as she drink from her cup.

Maybe because of her words or her tone, Devon and Blake finally noticed that her eyes were actually puffy.

They couldn't imagine it, this girl in front of them crying.

"Oh that's right, are you going to finish your studies here as well?" she looked up and asked the two of them.

She had heard that they came here with Ashton for the promise as well.

"No wait... I completely forgot," before any of them replied she slap her forehead and stood up.

"Thank you so much, for helping the hotel. I've heard you invested to it and with it, those from the other hotel couldn't touch them easily anymore," she bowed and thanked them whole heartedly.

"It's fine, it's fine," Blake finally got the chance to speak and said.

They really didn't interact with her when she was staying at the mansion for the past week. They were also busy with their own stuffs, and now, they can clearly say that she was indeed just as Ashton have described.

"But Ashton, she's not like me. She's much much more different from me," Blake complained upon remembering that Ashton once said that Amber was like Blake.

Amber didn't even bother by what he was saying and continued drinking.

"Forgetting about that. Yes we plan on staying one last year atleast until graduation before we too return to Celestial Country," Devon answered her first question to which Amber nodded in understanding.

"Ah, that's right. Is it possible for me to ask you for a favor. Something I can only return in the future," she placed down her cup and asked Devon seriously.

"Let me hear it first," was his reply.

"I just need a technological company that is already on the brink of bankrupt. Something I could buy off at the lowest price possible."

~"I am going to build my own company."~

Ashton looked up from his computer after remembering the time she turned down his offer due to the fact that she was building her own company. He thought it was just her thoughts, he didn't expect that she was actually serious.

Devon's family, were a family in different type of businesses that is why she had asked him. She didn't want to ask the Wright empire once again, and Blake's family were focused on Fashion and Entertainment.

"I'll check it out, I'll inform you once I have found one. Do you have a certain price?" Devon thought back before replying.

"A hundred million, around this city as much as possible, that's my ceiling. More than that and I have no more to offer."

She has more but currently she was also thinking about the starting of the company, obviously before it would wreck in some income, she'll have to bring out more money.

"That could buy only a small one," Devon replied.

"It doesn't matter I can improve it on my own. For now I just need a place to start."

"You're planning to enter the technological circle? That's quite a difficult one to start, indeed the future would be a lot of income but that is, if it has a future."

"It doesn't matter, I am not planning on getting my hands on hardwares instantly. I'll go with softwares first then slowly expand. That is also why I am starting now, it'll give me time to prepare for my upcoming war."

They knew she was going for revenge, so when she said war, they understood that she was referring to that.

"I'll try my best to help you. And since you are connected to Ash, I can trust that you will pay it back in the future," Devon replied, extending his hand.

"It's a deal then," she smiled and accepted his hand.

She stood up after finishing her tea, "I should probably go now, I still need to prepare for school in a week's span of time."

"Carl."

Ashton opened his mouth.

With a shrug, Amber didn't turn down the offer to bring her home. She was still in her cast, so public transport is a difficult one.

"What do you think?" Devon then looekd at Ashton after Amber left.

"She has potential, that is if she can manage a real company," Ashton said returning to his computer.

"But I am amazed, she actually had the gall to play with you, calling you love," Blake finally spoke while laughing.

Since the atmosphere a while ago was too serious he chose to remain quiet.

Ashton looked back at him and raised a brow, "Do you want to go back now?"

He zipped his mouth and remained seated like an obedient student.

In reality, Amber's sudden call completely shook his world. Her sweet voice accompanying such endearment, he didn't know what to do as he can only raise an eyebrow to her.

The moment she let her face came close to his, he can see her clear eyes even more. It was filled with mischief but at the same time, deep within it, the sadness she had just poured out.

She was hiding everything through her goofy acts and jolliness. Through her mischiefs and playfulness.

'Her uttered word, brother. The initials on the tombs, S.P. and N.P. She was a Wood and her parents used the same surname as well. But what are their true names?'

He held unto his phone ready to give Alger a call, but decided against it, his grandfather have warned him after all. If he digged deeper, she will just be placed in a graver danger.

"What are you thinking?" Devon asked after seeing him fall silent.

"Nothing, so how is the company?" he changed the topic and decided to ask the real reason these two were here.

When they arrived a while ago, he said that he has a visitor and for them to wait, they just didn't expect for her to come out in such a way.

"Alger said that more and more officials are looking into it. The weapons are after all pretty expensive and the way they were modified was something they couldn't comprehend. The moment they tried to disassemble it, the weapon as a whole would collapse, not even giving them a chance to see how it was made," Devon replied.

Their group actually started a company of their own, five years ago. Back then it was not yet that known, it was just a little one that sells weapons. Swords, guns, daggers, and more.

Of course the leading people to do the business were adults, they were still underaged after all.

And now, after five long years, their company started becoming known. But the ones behind it were still unknown. They were able to hide their tracks and was able to deceive those people who tried to follow them.

And with Ashton's capability on security towards the databases and the internet, they were what you'd call, impenetratable.

"How about on your side?" he asked Blake.

"Those in the government are about to make a deal with our company, currently they are negotiating with the conditions. The three year we spent here were not for a loss," Blake answered.

They were able to spread to the other minor countries that was under Wright empire. Star country was the last, the real reason why Devon and Blake came with Ashton.

"We are sailing quite smoothly, I just hope this is not the calm before the storm," Ashton commented as he leaned back on his chair.

Little did they know, that this is indeed the calm before the storm. Another two to three years, someone who became important to them, would lose their life due to this company.

And this would also turn these young men, into the cold lords of the underworld.

"I say, Carl, is getting used in being a butler. His skills and capabilities are more than this you know," Blake then commented as he drank more from his tea.
