52 You're Giving Me Goosebumps

While they were lost in thought, Amber was still looking at the gun and the shooting target longingly as if she still didn't have her fill of venting out.

Just as she was about to remove her protective gear, not wanting to be the only one enjoying, another batch of bullets were placed in front of her.

Looking up she saw Ashton holding another gun with a different batch of bullets.

"Wanna bet?" he nonchalantly asked as he loaded the magazine of the handheld gun.

"Oh, what kind of bet?" Amber happily asked as she too loaded hers.

"If you win you can scout anyone you like from the school without me stopping you," Ashton replied as he placed back the magazine.

He was aware that she needs more people for her company but he knew how much she was holding back on asking for their help.

Amber squinted her eyes upon hearing this, "And what if you win?"

"You will instead join our security company, of course I won't stop you from continuing on your own company."

He looked down at her as if asking her, 'Can you bet?'

"Fine, deal. I'll make sure to win this opportunity."

The two of them then positioned themselves.

"Do you think Ashton would let her win?" Blake asked as he and Devon kept watch on the side.

"Not necessarily, I think he would do everything seriously instead."

Not long after sounds of gun shots were heard and the way the two of them pulled the trigger was fast enough that placed the instructor who was still watching into shame.

Most of the time, they would have a pause before pulling the trigger once again. But this two teens were like playing with water guns.

"I say, are you children frequent to these kind of places?" he couldn't help but ask the other two.

Blake and Devon just smiled in return, they were not obligated to reply to him anyway.

But they too were shock at Amber's capabilities. They never expected her to be well acquainted with the gun. Wasn't she a sickly person in the past? How did she train to the point that she was actually this good in handling it?

Once the targets were pulled in, not one of their shots deviated from the bullseye. Which could be concluded as a tie.

Seeing this, Amber had her brows furrowed. She hated having too much favor from them, but she needed a help on the company, if she wants to make it big. Great help would be needed.

"Since it is a tie, why not do both?" Ashton spoke up after seeing her look.

"You can help out with our company while you can scout on the university."

Amber fell into deep thought, it's not that she didn't want to help in their company but her hands are currently full with her's, with the studies and with the security of the database of the school.

"You can do your part once you have graduated in university. Remember you are still going to stay here for another two years, while our company is based in Ceres Country," Ashton seemed to have read her thoughts as he suggested.

"Deal. Once I've finished everything here, I'll help out with the security of your company. But my help wouldn't be on the defensive part."

Seeing as it was starting to become a serious topic, the other two suggested that they continue it once they settled down for dinner. There are after all many ears around them.

Amber was happily eating her fill of dinner. They were in one of the restaurants that has a private room in it. Since she's just sixteen anyway, she was in no need to act mature in every way.

Why waste your youthful time in acting all mature when you can do that once you reached the mature age? She'd rather enjoy being young while it lasts.

Of course seeing her eat so heartily gave more appetite to the others. They enjoyed the food more than they ever thought and adding to the fact that they have finally closed a business deal they had been working on for a whole year.

"So your weapons are finally legalized in this country?" Amber nonchalantly asked as she drink her coffee.

*cough cough*

Devon and Blake looked at her in surprise.

"Don't look at me like that, it was you guys who kept talking about it right in front of me. Have you forgotten that I was also in the room during your meetings?" she asked with a raised brow.

She then started tapping her chin with her fingers as if thinking before once again opening her mouth, "It's not exactly weapons, more like modified guns right? You only have a few of those other weapons instead."

"You... Why did you eavesdrop?" Blake suddenly pointed at her.

To which she raised an eyebrow, "Eavesdrop? How was that called eavesdropping when you yourselves are the ones who openly talked about it right in front of me?"

With that, Blake could only purse his lips. That was indeed the case, since they were engrossed in their talks. And thought that her attention was entirely on her computer, they didn't bother speaking about it.

Amber suddenly slammed her hand on the table as if remembering something, "Were you talking about this company, when you made that bet?"

Her question was accompanied by her pointing a finger at Ashton.

"You didn't ask me what company after all," he replied indifferently.

"Well it doesn't matter anyway, it will just be the same. But just as I have said, I won't help on the security part. Even though I am studying about defensive tactics, I am still not enjoying it."

"Then how will you help out?"

"You'll know when we get there," she replied mysteriously.

"In the end, who are you in the IT world?" this time it was Devon who asked her.

Amber just smiled not wanting to say another word.

Devon looked at Ashton who only shrugged, he didn't bother asking nor prying over it. It's not that of a big deal anyway, she can hide it if she wants, she can tell it if she wants.

Once dinner was over and just as they step out of the private room, they heard a commotion in the hallway just outside their room.

Amber looked outside only to see a tray that fell on the floor and a man pinning a waitress on the wall.

"You followed me in the university and now you're telling me it was not the case?"

She saw that the lady was about to make a move but instead she fluidly took the knife from their room and threw it to where they were, the knife was then pinned on the wall right beside the man's hand.

It had wounded him in the process where he could only gasp in surprise as he held unto his wounded hand and looked back in shock.

Amber was fast enough though as the moment she threw the knife, she already run towards them and by the time the man held unto his wounded hand, she had pulled the lady away.

"Amber!!" she called in surprise upon seeing the person who threw the knife.

Amber smiled at her, "I know you were about to make your own move but since I already saw it, I'd rather cause a commotion than you causing one. Atleast I am a customer while you are someone working here."

She was momentarily stunned by Amber's explanation, first because she never thought that Amber was this talkative and second it is because Amber had just thrown a knife and now she was speaking like nothing.

"I- It's fine, w- we own this place," she replied.

"Then the more so, that you must not make a commotion. We can't have the restaurant having a bad reputation can we?" Amber replied with a smile.

"You b**ch!!" the man finally got a hold of himself and was about to launch an attack to Amber when another hand have stopped him.

"That's not a good word coming from your mouth," it was Blake who stopped him and his face was dark.

No, not just him but even Devon. Ashton didn't have much of a change but the aura surrounding him have turned colder.

'Hoho I have three knight and shinning armor,' Amber thought. And if it was not because of the current situation she would have said that aloud.

"Why are you interrupting, I just wanted to talk to Leslie about the two of us. You have no right to interfere," the man no longer attacked but his face darkened as well.

"You're giving me goosebumps," without thought, Amber said out loud.

Even her friends couldn't help but turn to her. Just how much more straightforward could this person be?

"Don't look at me like that I am just giving out my opinion."

She then look at Leslie, "Is there really going on between the two of you?"
