62 They Were Ignoring Her Existence

"Come on Ash, we are having fun here. Don't bring up such unnecessary things. We are just checking on you, since you seemed alright, then say regards to teh other two, bye bye."

Without waiting for Ashton to reply he dropped the call.

"Oh what happened? You suddenly have such tremendous change in expression," another young man asked Xander after he hung up.

"Nothing, Ash just suddenly brought up those two."

"Those two?"

Seeing his look the others understood what he meant.

There are a total of six young men in the room, it looks like a private room in a restaurant and they are ranging from 18 to early twenties.

"Anyway, he seemed fine over there. Let's just enjoy ourselves, it's been a while since we were able to have a get together," Xander replied.

Aldger was there as well, someone who knew everything, he was tight lipped. Ashton told him not speak about it to anyone, no matter what happens.

Ashton looked at his phone with furrowed brows. He didn't know if it was important or not but there is still something Amber didn't know.

The five Royal families were rivals, even though they are on different lines of businesses.

But within their family, they may or may not be the next in line to be the master. One of them are close with each other.

If in the past there was only Nathan Price and Kyle Wright, who became good friends. In their generation, this young men somehow became close. But this closeness are being kept secret as much as possible.

Xander and Timothy Price, cousin of the next in line Master of Price Empire.

Harvey Carter, younger brother of the next in line Master of Carter Empire.

Brian Cooper, cousin of the next in line Master of Cooper Empire.

Mathew Hughes, cousin of the next in line Master of Hughes Empire.

Aldger Smith, Blake Thomas and Devon Parker are friends with them as well. Their riches are second only to the royal families.

These three together with Ashton were in reality the next Master's of their own family. But among the royal families, it was only Ashton who had such title.

Ashton sighed, he was still contemplating whether to tell her since the moment she told them of her real identity.

Whether to tell her that her elder brothers were actually good friends with them or not.

This was one of the shock he and the other two had when she showed them the picture. But somehow, the three of them didn't open their mouth about it.

This is also one of the reason why the four of them are willing to help her. Her two elder brothers are after all their trusted friends.

Though he only informed Aldger about it when Amber agreed that Aldger could know of her identity.

For her, it was their little group that she could trust for most of the things she needed.

Ashton remained in the living room staring outside the window.

It was only after two hours when he turned around to reheat the porridge and brought it inside her room.

Amber was adamant on not wasting food and reheating it wouldn't be too bad. That is why he didn't order a new one.

Upon entry, he found out that she was already awake and was staring into the ceiling, seemingly in deep thought.

The two of them were silent until she finished the porridge.

He contemplated before finally asking her, "Why don't you come with us after graduation?"

He somehow got an idea of why she suddenly changed last night and why she seemed too down.

He came up with it after seeing her slump on the floor when he first arrived.

It suddenly dawned on her that she would be left alone in less than a year.

And seeing how she suffered because of the side effect, he pondered over this while she was asleep.

Amber was first taken a back and looked like she was contemplating whether to agree.

But soon she shook her head, "The company is just starting, there is no way I would be able to make it big in less than a year."

The thought of being alone scared her but she needed to steel her resolve if she really wanted to succeed.

"Plus, Amber Wood, needed an identity. Having to spend my university years here would be enough. If they still try to investigate deeper."

She paused before nodding, "I can just create a past in one of the cities around here."

"I understand why you are keeping things a secret but can't you atleast inform your brothers?"

Regret and sadness crossed her eyes before she weakly shook her head.

"My brothers are smart, surely upon getting older, they knew that the incident was an excuse for my parents and I to leave. With that, I know that they must have hated us to the core."

"Them not knowing that our parents are dead is better. Knowing it wouldn't change a thing anyway."

She fell silent as if thinking on how to continue. He didn't disturb her either.

"Plus... I am very sure that they hated me as well. My parents only took me after all. And they were left in there without proper explanation."

"They didn't know of your sickness?"

"They only knew that I was gravely ill, as for the details, they had no idea of what kind of sickness do I have."

After that, Amber returned to sleep with a heavy heart. Ashton returned to the university.

He was still wondering whether to tell those two the nature of her sickness or not.

Ashley's condition was kept a secret to the outside world after all.

Not once did her brothers speak about her as well, their group of friends only knew that they hated their parents.

'It feels like they were ignoring her existence while hating their parents."

"What had happened to you? I even texted you but not once did you reply," Leslie asked her.

Ashton's presence in the office was no longer pressuring to her. She was now used to him.

"Just a little bit of sickness but see I am completely fine now," Amber smiled as she waved her hand.

It seems that whatever they talked about last night was already at the back of her mind.

She look so depressed last night but all of that are gone by now.

"Anyway, how will I work for the company? It already came from you that it just started. Surely there are still no personnel in it right?"

"Oh, you got it instantly," Amber replied with a laugh.

"Don't laugh, this is a major problem. Your company launched a product but everything was done by you alone. Promotion and all. How will you call that a company?" Leslie instantly reprimanded.

"Well I was only planning on hiring more people once I already proved that my company is not to be belittled."

Leslie could only shake her head. She felt like Amber was currently immature in regards with her company.

"Don't look at me like that, I already planned it out. With the popularity of my first product, I placed advertisements of the company hiring all sorts of personnel."

She had read what was going on in Leslie's mind and explained the reason why she decided to just hire now.

"If it was back then, with it being a freshly opened company, surely no one would like to apply. But with PS as my backing, then more and more people will send their resumes."

Hearing her reason, Leslie's first thought disappeared instantly. Amber was not being immature, instead she planned it out quite well.

"And what would be my position in the company?" she then went to the main point and asked her.

"CEO."

"I se- WHAT!!??!!"

Ashton looked up and raised an eyebrow to the two of them. Leslie sat back down and smiled at him apologetically.

"What did you just say?" she asked as she felt like she misheard her.

"Just as I said, your position shall be the acting CEO but I will still be the owner. Once the company becomes bigger, the board of directors will know of my existence but only them."

Leslie was agape, why does it feels like she was not sixteen but instead 26? This kind of talks usually happens to the adults right?

"Don't worry, I am fully aware of your capabilities. I am giving you this position because of that. And I can't have this position because I have so many things I need to handle."

"Well you said that you know of my capabilities but still why me? We barely knew each other."

"Let's just say that I am a good judge of character. I feel that I can trust you, we both are still young just 16. But the company is the same."

"If I hire someone else, someone much mature and had more experience, they might end up thinking that they can overtake this company."

Leslie nodded as she started understanding what was going on in Amber's mind.

"But we both know of the identity of each other. Currently, it will be more like we are starting the company together. I don't need to be on guard against you once the company flourishes."

In short, Amber was giving her trust to Leslie. That no matter how far the company would go, she will maintain their good relationship.
