79 If The Police Don't Then Who Will

After sipping from her cup, she gave another heavy sigh.

"I really can't get the right amount. The taste was really different to what you make."

She shook her head as she kept drinking looking at his name.

"In the end, another promise was not made. My parents promised that we will have a much more peaceful life after arriving to that country. You promised that you will make me coffee with the finest beans of Celestial country."

She released another sigh, "In the end, both promises were not met."

She glanced to the side upon noticing that there are approaching people.

She pulled down her hat and returned the thermos in her bag before putting both hands on her jacket pocket.

"See you."

With that she left.

Outside the cemetery, she once again looked up in the sky before fishing out a blue flip phone.

"Long time no hear. I never thought I'd see this number calling me again."

An amused voice came through after just two rings.

"I see that you still had it saved in your phone even after 10 years," she replied.

But on the other side of the phone, what was heard was a deep voice, a voice befitting a man.

"And what does the Pianist who went missing for three years, but only called me after seven years of her return, needs from this humble one?" he laughed as he said in amusement.

"You haven't changed, despite getting married," Amber replied in amusement.

She walked towards a corner where a black motorbike was parked. The alley was isolated so barely any one would look towards it.

"Oh, you even knew that I have married? Your capabilities did improve, you were able to enter without me noticing this time," he replied.

"I am not that amazing, you are the most famous police hacker, do you think your wedding would really be kept in a hush?"

She then heard a hearty laugh coming from the other side.

"Enough going around in circle, just what is it that you need? You wouldn't bother calling for me if it was not something connected to official business," finally his voice turned serious.

Pianist had once entered the police database, he even went and mocked the most famous police hacker, Luke Edwards. He betted if he would be able to find him as he played around their database.

Amber does not have that nonchalant attitude to just plainly play around the entire police force of the whole world. She was actually there to delete a few details.

Details regarding their family but doing it in secrecy will make people stop her more. So doing it openly was better, at the same time since they are focused on her playing around they didn't really notice what she had done.

After that, Luke Edwards decided to raise the white flag in defeat. Pianist was already pretty much renowned and no one was able to pin point his location no matter how long.

Even he, who was the pride of the police force couldn't find him, to add more salt to the wound, the antagonist was even dancing around him.

"What do you need?" after checking their system, he actually didn't find anything wrong.

"Nothing, just getting bored. Say, can I join you in a high end battle?"

The higher ups were behind him and all of their lips twitched upon reading his reply. Pianist was truly bold.

"High end battle? What kind?"

"If you need to hack something then I can lend a hand, no matter how big the range, for example."

Just as the message popped up, one monitor in front of them turned to multiple CCTV shots. They were all the ones in buildings near the police main office.

"Three minutes, quite fast. Don't worry I didn't try playing with what was inside your office. I have morals."

Brows were raised upon reading the word moral, if he had that, then what happened to one of the monitors? Why did it suddenly changed to CCTV shots?

"Why do you want to help?"

"To ask for your help in the future as well, simple right?"

"Are you kidding? This is the police force."

"Duh, isn't that why I am here? Don't worry I am not unreasonable. But there will come a time in the future that I might need your help."

"We follow the law," Luke once again replied.

"If the police don't then who will? Anyway by this time you must have pinpoint a place right? Could I be in Meteor Country?"

The police chief looked at the people behind him, they in turn looked at him in shock, the location of Pianist that they pin point was indeed in Meteor Country.

"Hello? Too shock? Well, could I really be there? Hmmm. Anyway contact me if you need some help regarding the IT or the cloud. ; )."

After that message the next thing that appeared was a number.

The police chief looked at the people behind them.

"Nothing sir, the location remained the same."

"Great just great, who does he think he is?" the police chief roared.

But the next few weeks that they alotted to hunt down Pianist, nothing came up.

It was during a large drug raid that they met him again.

Luke who was reaching a dead end, gave him a call.

"Oh you're calling? Could it be a big case?" the voice on the other side was deep.

But Luke knew, he must have used a voice changer.

"We need to find the five drug lords but we can't contact every police force or it might be too late-"

"Got it, send me the pictures now."

Luke was still skeptical but since he was left with no choice, he still sent the five pictures.

"Stay on the phone, I'm not fond of calling back."

After that all he heard on the other side was full speed typing but at times he would hear it slowing down, then slowly move fast, then slow.

Thirty minutes later, "And send."

After hearing that, the monitor beside him changed to five CCTV shots, each taken two minutes ago.

"Try and check the other CCTV's close to those as you try to track them down."

Luke and even a few higher ups who knew he would call was agape. Those CCTV shots were on different countries. These drug lords disappeared eight hours ago after their raid.

Who would have thought that they easily left Celestial Country and went to different countries?

"Hello? Are you trying to chase them now?" the voice snapped all of them.

"Go and follow up this shots, get those bastards behind bars!!" the police chief finally commanded.

Amber used the pictures to track them down, she was only thankful they still haven't changed their looks. Since it was just eight hours ago.

She then focused on their characteristics and didn't let them leave her sight through those CCTV shots and the next ones to it.

After another five hours, their appearance changed and she who was looking closely was able to pinpoint their location through their body characteristics.

As she send these videos, the police chief commanded the other police forces of those countries. It took them the whole day before they were able to finally track down the last drug lord.

"I'm amazed," the police chief took the phone from Luke and said to Amber.

"I'm tired."

They pursed their lips upon hearing this. For this to be successful, the one who did most of the work was the Pianist.

"And what do you want in return?"

"Nothing yet, I told you. I will help you in any way but if there comes a time that I would need a help I'll ask for it. But you don't need to worry, I won't ask for something that will tarnish the reputation of the police force."

"If we can, then we will try our best to help."

"Very well then, just contact me if you needed another help. I'm off to bed, good night sir."

The police chief looked at his people, in the first hour they still tried to track down the cellphone but to no avail.

After the pianist repeatedly pin pointed the position of the drug lords, they no longer tried to look for him.

"Do we continue on asking for his help sir?"

"If the need arises, he showed quite the capability."

"About the favor?"

"When the time comes we will decide."

They had no idea that the person whom they are asking help for was actually but a ten year old kid.

They cooperated for a few more cases and the police developed a pretty much respect towards this Pianist. He didn't go overboard nor disrespected them in anyway.

He whole heartedly helped them and close quite a lot of cases. Kidnapping, Drug raids, hostage taking, serial killings and quite a few more.

The first time Luke received a call from the Pianist, he thought he would be asking for the favor and he steeled himself but what came was a complete shock to them.

"I'll disappear for a while."

"Are you in danger? We can help you if that is the case."

"No, this is something else. I'll ask for that favor some other time."

And that was the last call they had which was dated ten years ago.

Even the police chief felt bad that Pianist didn't try to exploit his connection to the police.
