127 And That One Thing?

"I'm going to Kuiper Country early next year," Timothy started as he and Xander were on their way home.

Xander looked at him.

"That girl, I feel like I must not lose to her at all. I'll go and focus in that company."

He explained as he focused on the road.

"You should get your life straight already as well," he finished giving Xander a look.

"What happened to you? Isn't this fine? Our current lifestyle?" Xander wondered as he looked at Timothy.

"If what Ashton just said was indeed true, that she was here for revenge then surely the whole world will be turned upside down by her," Timothy answered.

"I mean yeah she is good but she was still far younger, just how many royal families are out there? How many businesses are second only to the royals?" Xander kept going.

"Young? Tell me, if she was young then was she a baby when she started SNN? When she started acquiring the shares of Cooper empire?"

He looked at Xander as they stopped at a traffic light.

"Upon hearing everything today and seeing the look in her eyes, I can tell that she will become something really big. And she will surely wreck havoc to the current lifestyle we all have."

Xander turned silent.

"Think about it, whether you will make it big inside the empire or make it big outside," he finished as he started driving again.

"What happened?" Amber asked Ashton, who was sitting across her that morning.

"You fell asleep, just how sleepy were you last night? We were talking with you a minute ago and the next thing, you were already asleep," he replied.

"I didn't notice I was that tired," she said as she shrugged it off.

"I told them by the way," Ashton spoke this time.

"About my revenge?" she answered.

"Yes, I told them the reason behind all your preparations," he replied as he passed her a napkin.

On her lips was the sauce of what she was eating.

"Well, it doesn't matter. They can know of it, in the end, they will have to wait to find out who I'm taking revenge against with," she answered as she wiped her lips.

"When will you be leaving then?"

In reality, Amber haven't told Ashton that she was once again leaving Celestial Country. She knew that he understood all her plans.

"Well, since you have to attend that end of the year gala, your fiancé must attend with you. So around earlier next year."

She continued eating but after hearing no more reply from him she looked up only to see him looking at her seriously.

"What's wrong?"

"Call me the moment you need help, don't try and do things on your own once again. The six years was enough for you to handle everything," he seriously said.

Amber could only stare at him.

"You already said all those things last night," he added.

"Am I actually a really lucky person? To meet you a month after losing my parents. To have your support and to have more friends whom you can trust," she shook her head as she replied.

"Your luck wouldn't make me look at you," he retorted before he himself continued eating.

"You really know how to destroy the mood don't you?" she jokingly threw the napkin back at him.

"That's gross," he said, catching it, before putting it on the side.

Amber chuckled which he returned with a smile before she received a call.

"What is it?"

"..."

"Oh, they're bold. You can warn them about the videos if they don't believe then play it on the small screens outside, if they still continue play it at the main LED wall."

"..."

"I know you can do it so you go ahead and get acquainted well with Brian, bye."

She turned off the phone and continued eating.

"Those who were fired? Was Joseph there?" Ashton asked.

He knew of the videos after all.

"I don't know, but yes those who were fired were rallying in front of the building. But I don't want to use up my energy to confront them so it is better to just handle it the simplest and fastest way," she shrugged as she finished her food.

"And what do you plan for today?"

"You really do know me don't you? How long have we been together?" she mused.

"It's because your body language says it all," he replied as he stood up.

Obviously it was her turn to fix everything up.

She indeed has no plans of going to the office today, she'll just check it once in a while especially since Leslie was already there.

"I'll focus in gathering more information from those gangs today," she answered his question a while ago after she came out of the kitchen, done with the dishes.

"I told you, you don't have to," he replied.

"And I told you I wanted to do so, plus it was kind of fun to keep my hands moving, so that it won't get rusted," she even moved her fingers as she replied.

"Do as you wish."

"How about you then? Still online meetings? You're not yet being called back?"

"Trying to throw me out of my own house?" he raised an eyebrow upon asking this.

Amber rolled her eyes, "You know what I mean."

"Not yet, it seems that we kind of have the same path to take, I will be returning to work by early next year."

Amber nodded in understanding, "Well that is better, at least the issue would die down a lot."

When she was checking the news, she found that what he had done was almost out of the picture.

That is because he really didn't show his face in the public for the past weeks, only that time during the wedding.

And even that time, he barely did anything, it was all her.

"Come to think of it, it seems that Glenn and the others brushed off my existence upon finding out that I am of humble birth," she commented upon remembering the wedding.

She followed him upstairs.

"They after all didn't found out anything about your connection with SNN, that is why they thought of you as a small fly," he replied as he entered the study room.

"They really love belittling others, that would surely be their downfall," she said back entering it as well.

Ashton had some people readjust the study room, making it a two person office.

They each have their table and bookshelves.

Sometimes they stayed here when they have no work outside, they have their own world and only the sound of typing could be heard.

This simple times were already enough for the two of them.

They were unlike those who loves going out to eat or to shop, they'd rather stay inside and work with one another.

"Come to think of it, when will be your next attack?" after another hour or so of plainly looking at their own computers, she asked him.

"Maybe a week or so from now," he answered.

"Will you be coming this time?" he asked in return.

"No, I have to focus on one thing and since Blake was already fine, I'll pass to have that fun for now," she answered with a shake of her head.

She even looked dejected at the thought that she couldn't come.

"But, I want to speak with you through your earpiece," she then added looking at him with squinted eyes.

"You no longer wanted to just wait?" he mused looking at her reaction.

"I think it would be better for me to follow everything than to wait and suddenly see another bloodied body," she replied.

"Sorry about that," upon remembering her look, he couldn't help but to apologise.

"No, for the nth time, it is fine. We both didn't know that effect. At least now we are more prepared," was her reply.

"What will you be doing this following days then?" he asked afterwards.

"My next move, it'll be Kuiper country next year, I am kind of worried by the way aunt Jacqueline was worried about that person."

"Could it be that was not your first plan," he said after seeing her look.

"No, it should have been Achernar Country," she sighed after saying this.

"Achernar? So you already have started your work over there?"

"Yup, I started it about a year ago. Though it was still but a food chain, plus my main actor over there is still not ready," was her answer.

"I wonder who you got this time," he asked as he tapped his fingers on his table.

"Nah, you don't know that person but there are those who do," she answered mysteriously.

To which Ashton shook his head in amusement, she is smart and a hard worker.

She has the looks and the brain, yet in the end she loves something else entirely.

And that one thing?

She really loves being mysterious.
