159 Respect Her As A Woman And A Coworker

"Alissa and aunt Jacqueline are here, don't bottle everything up on your own," Ashton instructed.

"Am I a child?" Amber couldn't help but say.

"Who got sick due to over thinking? To exhaustion?" he retorted.

Amber pouted before looking on her side.

It was time for Ashton to return and in another two weeks was his birthday, the thing she was doing was already half way there.

Though she felt regretful that she couldn't give it to him now, she couldn't wait to see his reaction once he sees it.

"Just know that you are no longer alone. That's what I want you to keep in mind," Ashton sighed and said as he placed his hand on of of her head.

Amber gave a smile, "I know you are worried and all, that is why you are being a nagger but don't worry, I may not be used to it but I am starting now, starting to get used to the fact that I really am not alone."

Ashton smiled, "That's good to hear."

"Let's go have fun," Hayley smiled happily just as Alissa opened her door.

She felt bad for turning her down the other day so she came here today at an early time to invite her this time.

Amber already left, she has some things to do so she left earlier than usual.

"I can't…" Alissa said with uncertainty.

Upon looking back, not once have she told Hayley about her other work. And it has been going on for almost three weeks now.

"Why? You have work? But I checked your schedule you have nothing this time," Hayley wondered.

"No, I have another schedule," she answered.

"What schedule?" Hayley asked and became curious upon seeing that Alissa was wearing clothes that she usually wouldn't wear when she goes out.

"I am currently under probationary in a broadcasting company, as an engineer," Alissa said with a smile and excitement could be heard from her voice.

"You are what?" Hayley's face changed upon hearing her sentence.

Alissa became uncertain, "I am an engineer at a broadcasting company."

"Why?"

"Well, I want to try out the course I have finished," Alissa replied no longer wanting to keep going.

Seeing as Hayley's face has changed drastically.

"Alissa, didn't I tell you? You can't be distracted," Hayley said.

"Don't worry, my schedule was fixed and it won't affect anything about my modeling," Alissa answered, the excitement was no longer there.

"But still, you don't know when there would be a sudden show for my designs or for aunt Jacqueline. What will you do if that happens?" Hayley kept going.

"It won't so don't worry and if, just if, it do happens then I will make sure that the modeling won't be affected, okay?" she said with a smile before she bid her goodbye.

Hayley sighed at the same time felt bothered. She didn't know that Alissa took such work.

And the most likely one to give permission was Amber.

*****

Amber internally sighed, she was once again facing a fuming Hayley.

"Answer me, was it you who gave her permission to work on another company?" Hayley asked.

Amber sighed once again, 'How many times have I sighed in front of her since coming here?'

"I have indeed given her permission, I was also the one who recommended the broadcasting company she will enter," she answered honestly.

Hayley looked exasperated as she said all this.

"Her schedule was already fixed and I don't think her work was hard enough that she would actually get injured," Amber patiently answered.

"But still-"

"Okay, let's do it this way, if she were to get distracted or to be injured then we would have her pull out from that company, good enough?" Amber asked no longer wanting to have another little fight with Hayley.

"I understand," was her reply before turning around.

But before leaving the room she once again spoke, "Are you okay now? You no longer have any fever?"

Amber smiled, "I'm as good as new, thank you."

Hayley nodded before she finally left the room.

Amber picked up her phone and made a call. In reality, Alissa told her of Hayley's reaction upon finding out of her other work.

That is why Amber was quite prepared on how to handle her.

"How was it? Is she mad?" Alissa asked upon answering the phone.

"I was able to make her back down, we just have to make sure that you wouldn't neglect your events and that you wouldn't be injured in any way," Amber replied.

Alissa sighed, "That's good. I'll be more careful."

"Tell me, are you really sure of staying there? You're doing good?" Amber asked with concern.

"Don't worry I am enjoying what we are doing, I will tell you the moment I no longer want to continue. So help me pull back," Alissa said with a laugh.

Amber laughed as well, "Fine, Ill do just that. Bye now, do your best there."

"Was that person a while ago your friend?"

Alissa who just came out of the office going to the studio for a taping met Timothy along the way.

He actually heard them just as he was about to leave his place.

"Nope, she was my cousin," Alissa replied with a defeated smile.

"It doesn't sound like she wanted what you are currently doing," he commented.

Alissa laughed, "She didn't want me to get distracted she said."

He nodded as he kept walking with her.

"Will be going for your inspection sir?" she asked after noticing this.

"I know you already noticed that it was not due to inspection," he looked at her as if she was teasing him.

"I can handle myself though, that is if you give me your approval," she answered.

"I'd rather have it the peaceful way, if standing for the whole duration of the taping is enough to make that. Then that would be better," he replied.

Alissa just shook her head upon hearing this.

Josh couldn't do anything every time it was the two of them were on duty on taping, for every time this happens, Timothy would be there, watching as well.

She also knows that Timothy wanted this the peaceful way because Josh was a good audio man.

To have conflict could also affect ones performance.

"But I think he also noticed it as well, that you only watch every time we are the tandem in this duty," she then commented.

"Wouldn't that be good, he would stop already and I don't need to watch those taping," he answered.

Alissa laughed, "Then you don't have to."

Timothy just looked at her as if saying, 'The person behind you is a real handful. Spare me that.'

"The person this morning, could she be the one Amber was having problems with?" he then remembered.

"Yes, it was her. Though not just Amber but even I and aunt Jacqueline have noticed it for a good few months now," she answered honestly.

"I'm amazed at how tolerant Amber is, if it were me, I would have confronted her already..."

"No, let me rephrase that, Amber is really stupid. She made Ashton realize that he was running on emotions and made it seem like she was rational enough, but in reality she too was doing it now," he said just as they entered the control room.

Josh who was already inside looked at them in confusion.

This was the first time he saw them come together and at the same time they seem to be talking about something they were very much acquainted with.

"I guess we really have quite some impact on her but I also know that she wouldn't end up like him, her preparation was long enough after all," she then said as she sat down.

Both continued speaking as if Josh was not there.

"You seem to be very sure," Timothy commented.

"It was in her eyes, she may seem defeated and problematic, she may seem tired but her eyes always have their fire on them. Despite all the troubles and the tears she shed."

After checking that everything was ready to go, she looked up at him, "The fire still was not distinguished. At times it was even fiercer."

Timothy's eyes shifted, Alissa spoke with pride and her eyes were filled with confidence that Amber will never run on her emotions.

"I will watch that then, I want to see just how far she will go," he then added before he looked at Josh, who had been watching them since they enter.

"Is there a problem?" he asked.

"Ah well, I didn't expect that you are close with Alice, sir," he answered with respect.

"Miss Coleman," Timothy replied.

"Huh?" Josh looked baffled.

"In this company miss Coleman's name is Alissa and not Alice, she is not in the runway. At the same time since you two are not close enough. You should call her miss Coleman as a sign of your respect towards her," Timothy said with authority.

"Do you understand me mister Green? Respect her as a woman and a coworker," he then added.

"Yes sir," Josh lowered his head and answered.

Alissa looked at Timothy before she smiled at him thankfully while Timothy nodded at her.
