177 Has A Better Life Than Them

"Where did you get such premise?" Mathew asked looking back at her once again.

"Precious Hughes."

The moment she uttered the name, Mathew's face darkened and he run close to grab her by the collar.

Timothy who loosened his grip on her was too shock when she suddenly shrugged him off and faced Mathew head on.

Instead of Amber being held by the collar, it was Mathew who was pushed to the table while Amber was holding unto his collar.

"You friends are quite the same, rushing to grab at someone who suddenly touched your soft spot you would just lash out," Amber commented as she held him tighter.

"How did you know of her?!?" he asked in gritted teeth.

He was grabbing her hands that were holding him tightly.

"Amber let him go, let's talk about this calmly," Timothy who finally returned to his senses tried to stop her.

"No, do you think only those who push others what they wanted them to do, the only ones who destroy others?" Amber didn't let go but instead grabbed him tighter.

"It was also people like you, you who would shatter other people's dreams just because of your stupid personal reasons. Who do you think you are?"

The three of them could see that she was still holding back her anger, they can see that she was trembling of anger and that she was also stopping herself from going overboard.

Mathew who was still fuming mad because of the mention of his sister slowly stared blankly at her.

He didn't expect such outburst from her, all of them saw her as a calm collected person and that no one would truly see her anger other than Ashton.

"You all don't understand because you grew up within your empire which has a lot of competition. You don't understand that your words that could be known as normal within your empire was something as sharp as a sword outside of your family."

"Don't criticize others just because you think you are higher, just because you have the talent. You would then be the same as the family you despise."

Her words brought tremendous shock on Mathew.

He hated his family who exploit talents as if they own that person. He despised them and was telling he will never be like them, telling one to just go home instead of working under them.

He thought that would have been better.

"Capa was built to not be like those companies, not be like the Hughes. I will never allow such things to happen to this company or to the talents that we have," Amber finally let him go.

She stood straight while Mathew remained sitting on top of the table.

"Gee Anne is great, I will not forgive you if she were unable to overcome this fear until the first quarter event two weeks from now."

After that she actually stormed away.

"Amber where are you going?" Alissa called out.

Jake gestured Alissa to follow her while the three men remained in the coffee shop.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked Mathew.

"I apologize for her behavior, she was not usually like that but she had been under the weather for a few days now. Please forgive her."

Mathew looked at him and shook his head.

He was just stunned, her anger was truly too shocking for she always have this cunning smile or a cold one. Or just a plain playful smile.

"Too shocking? I never expected that as well but I have seen quite a lot of side of her while staying here," Timothy handed him a glass of water.

"Wait, Jake France is here and even Alissa Coleman, she also mentioned Capa. Could you explain to me what it is that's going on?"

Mathew and Jake looked at each other before guiding him upstairs for the three of them to talk.

Gee Anne who was in shock of what just happened were sent home by Jake France and was tasked to come back tomorrow.

"So you are saying that she owns Capa Entertainment Incorporation?" Mathew asked upon hearing the details from Jake and Timothy.

"Yes."

"But didn't she own SNN?" he asked once again still not believing what he was hearing.

"We didn't say she didn't own it," Jake replied.

"So you're saying that she own SNN and even Capa?"

The other two just nodded.

"Isn't this a bit too insane? SNN was already big, Capa is a rising star, just how many more companies does she own?" he commented as he drank more water.

"SO I hope you understand, it is not that there's no pressure on her but that the pressure was truly great, she only knew how to manage it well. Just that all of us didn't realize that Capa has quite some problem."

"And that internal conflicts arise. So she decided that it is time to up her game and be the full pledge president she should have. Though finding out the reason behind miss Pines fear somehow angered her even more," Jake explained.

"Those who spoke because of their personal reason are the same to those who command others of what they have to do. Her words truly hit the mark," Mathew slowly shook his head.

"Indeed, she really has a point on that," Timothy added.

"So the preparation Ash told us, include all of these?" Mathew asked after they internalized her words.

Jake nodded.

"Is it possible for me to know, who is at the other end of her revenge?" he asked feeling that what she was doing was too big for a simple revenge.

Jake glanced at Timothy.

"I think since she had told me and she had shown Mathew of Capa, she already has plans of letting all of us know who she would go up against with," Timothy commented.

"Very well..." Jake took a deep breath.

"Price Empire as a whole."

Mathew's eyes grew wide before he slowly looked at Timothy.

"Shocking right? I also have no idea what is the reason behind the Price assassinating her parents but that is the reason behind her revenge," Timothy explained.

Mathew remained silent, accepting everything that was just told to him.

She seemed playful all those times, who would have thought that such deep story were hiding behind it.

"How long has she been preparing?" he couldn't help but ask.

"It has been seven years since then, going eight," Jake answered.

He can tell that these young men would be of great help to Amber when that time comes. They can help her through their families but that is only when they themselves were to grow up.

And he can tell that Amber would be able to help them with it.

"Let me tell you one thing, since you have someone precious to you who died because … well, we may not admit it but it was also due to the negligence of your empire."

Mathew didn't try to say anything against it for it was the truth.

"Amber was surrounded by death since she was seven," Jake continued.

Both Timothy and Mathew listened to him intently.

"She was so tired of it that she hates hearing people spoke about you might end up just like him or might end up just like her."

Jake chuckled, "In her words. Why must they always bring their loved ones to the conversation? If it happened again to another person it only means one thing."

"They never learned a lesson from their past experiences making a second, a third, a fourth. They should just let them rest already. They have finished their race, they should just allow them to really be at peace."

"That is why, she had such a reaction for your reason. You stopped miss Pines because you didn't want her to be the second Precious Hughes."

"Well… It's just..."

"I know, it is not that I want you to accept anything we say to you but that I want you to have another thought about everything. We all have our point of views and that's how Amber see it."

"Getting each others point of view will help us one way or another. At the same time, I want to inform you of one thing. I guess one of the reasons why she has become emotional right now, is because..."

Mathew and Timothy looked at him seriously.

"It is her parents eighth death anniversary in less than two months. Every time it is this close, she would choose to remain working in order to get away from people but it is obvious that she is emotionally disturbed."

Jake patiently explained to them, all of them have noticed this in her.

They would have difficulties contacting her whenever it was this close.

"Surrounded by death?" Timothy was the one who asked.

"Their body guards have died left and right while protecting them. That's how difficult their lives had been for the years that the three of them were running away."

He then glanced at Timothy, 'That is why she was also happy, you were left behind despite feeling guilty. Because you somehow has a better life than them.'
