184 She Is Indeed Saying Goodbye

"What? After destroying my phone, are you going to slap me this time?" Hayley asked after the two of them entered an empty room.

"Do you really think I am that kind of person?" Amber asked in return.

"In reality after meeting you again, I actually didn't know what kind of person you really are. The person I met back then and the person I am seeing now are quite different," Hayley replied.

Amber shook her head, "Why didn't you had anyone double check the dresses? You could have done it as well but you didn't, why?"

"What of it? There's nothing wrong, all the dresses were sewn properly," Hayley said with confidence.

Seeing Amber just stare at her, she continued, "What? Are you telling me that there's something with the way they were sewed? After telling me that Alissa's drop in health was my fault, is there another fault that you want to tell me?

"Just once, since we started being at odds with one another. Just once Hayley, have you ever thought that you also have a fault?" Amber asked as her grip on the papers have tightened.

"My fault? Well yes I have, I should have designed for another company other than this, that is my fault. That is the fault I wanted to cha-"

*SLAP*

This slap was not of Amber slapping Hayley with her hand but instead she slapped on Hayley the papers she had been holding all this time.

It was strong enough that Hayley's face turned red instantly. Amber didn't hold back, she also knew she would feel hurt but if she don't hit her hard then she would surely not learn anything once everything was brought to light.

"Go on and do it then but you will have to pay for the contract that you have breached," Amber said after hitting her.

Hayley looked down at the papers and shock was plastered on her eyes when she saw that they were all her designs.

Designs for someone else.

Design she had sent Mark for his mother who loves going on galas and all.

She looked up at Amber, shock was still visible in her eyes.

"You really do belittle me, don't you? You think I don't know about this? That I wouldn't find out? I already warned you but you just didn't want to listen," Amber said.

"What of it? Indeed I had been designing those for his mother but that was all, it was only for her!!" she retorted.

She was nervous but she still didn't want to back down, she felt that she did nothing wrong.

Amber suddenly laughed, "Only for her? You really are blind and stupid at the same time!!"

"Huh?!?"

"You don't know? You actually blindly believed that such designs were only for his mother?"

Amber once again laughed before she continued, "I really don't know whether to pity you or not, you never met him there haven't you?"

Hayley's eyes shifted, she really did never went to Helios country for it was always Mark who came to meet her.

"Stop calling me stupid!! You think you are that great? Someone who lives for revenge? Do you think you would always be successful? Revenge will always be revenge!!" Hayley retorted.

"Indeed I live for revenge but I at least know who to trust, when to trust and how much trust I put into them. But you? You may be living a little bit of a better life than I am but you will not last once you step out there."

Amber's eyes were vicious and is mocking her.

Hayley raised her hand and slapped Amber, in her shock she actually succeeded in doing so.

Her hand print appeared on Amber's cheek that was not hidden by the mask.

Amber looked back at her, "Can't accept that fact? That you really are being used?"

"Stop slandering him in front of me!!" Hayley clenched her hand that she used to slap her.

It was trembling for her mind suddenly went blank of anger before she could stop herself, she already slapped Amber.

"I will never slander someone, what I am speaking of is just the truth. Go and find out for yourself, just what kind of person you are trusting," Amber stood straight and said.

"By then I know you will surely understand every fault you have done. I don't care what it is that you have done to me, I can accept all of them but you should realize that you also hurt those who you grew up with."

She pulled Hayley's hand and placed something in it.

"The most stupid thing a designer should do, you have done it. The company will think about whether to disclose it or not. But..." Amber said.

She turned to leave and with her back facing Hayley, "You're fired, miss Coleman. For breaching the contract with Capa Entertainment."

Hayley looked down and saw a bobby pin in her hand, she then remembered Amber's question of double checking the clothes before the event.

The kid who had been dreaming of becoming a designer, who had been trying to create clothes actually left a bobby pin in a dress at such a major event?

She was too shock as she stared at the bobby pin, her legs gave way and she felt like they were jellies.

Seeing this pin, she felt like the her who was in love of designing was lost.

She remembered the designs she created for Capa and the way they were still altered by Jake as a collaboration, she then looked to the scattered papers.

She can see them clearly, the designs for Capa were lifeless, the design she made for Mark has lives but it was no longer the same as before where the creation was out of her love for the dress but instead the creation was out of her love for Mark.

She was too shock of all these that she didn't realize that tears streamed down her face.

Too shock to realize that her greatest regret had just happened.

*****

The last dress was shown with great success.

Talks of the way Alice presented it surrounded the venue.

Before long each of them started realizing that Alissa actually only returned to half way of the runway before she turned to everyone.

And with a bright smile she bowed down deeply.

This baffled the whole venue but after that the program proceeded like normal.

Everyone started thinking that it might only because of the fact that it was her first event after the scandal. Or because of the fact that she just felt too happy or anything.

There's only two people within the audience who thought of it as something else.

"Stop considering her as a model, was what Amber said right?" Mathew asked Timothy.

Both are not looking at each other but instead at the stage.

"The way Alissa bowed and the way she smiled, don't you feel like she was saying goodbye?" he added afterwards after looking at Timothy, who remained staring at Alissa who was walking off the stage.

"She must be saying goodbye," he repeated before walking out of the venue.

Mathew just watched him before he received a call.

He looked down and frowned upon seeing that it was his grandfather.

"Good evening grandfather," he respectfully answered as he too left the venue.

"Never thought you could still play the way you always did."

His steps stopped for a moment before he continued walking towards his car, "Never thought you would actually watch."

"Tell me, how close are you with the president of Capa?"

Mathew just entered his car when he heard this question.

"Jake France?"

"Oh that's right, he was the president. Then how about the brain?" Isaac changed his question.

"Brain? Capa's brain?" Mathew asked.

Isaac thought for a bit, 'Is my grandson aware or he really didn't know that someone else is behind it?'

"Isn't it that it was Jake France himself? My stay there, it had always been Jake France making all the decisions," Mathew added afterwards.

"I see. And... you've played really well. Take care."

Isaac hanged up.

Mathew stared blankly at his phone.

"Did he just say I played well?" he asked.

Not once ever since they were children, did their grandfather complimented anyone, not even the heir his cousin, Arthur Hughes.

To be honest, Mathew was a candidate for being the heir but he begged his parents that this is not for him, he was not into entertainment.

That is why his father asked his grandfather to leave him out of the list, their family was not into the power struggle as well, so his father was willing to accept the fact that Mathew was not into entertainment.

Somehow, he still felt lucky that Isaac accepted this and left him out despite him being better at some things than Arthur.

After thinking for a bit about it, Mathew just shrugged, maybe it was just a slip of the tongue.

Thinking a bit more he gave Amber a call.

"Yes?" she answered.

"My grandfather seemed to be interested in you. I don't know how he found out that a brain was behind Jake France but I didn't say anything. Or should I have?"

"It's fine, I thank you for that."

"Very well goodbye," he hanged up after that.
