218 Weren't You The Same?

Alissa's head snapped to the side, across the table, where Amber and Ashton were supposed to be.

But no one was there, the place only have the them both.

Her face turned completely red upon realizing that they actually forgot that the other two was still there and that they left to give them some privacy.

Seeing her face, Timothy chuckled.

"It's not like they themselves weren't doing such things in front of us."

"Well, at least they weren't kissing right in front of us," she retorted as she tried to stand up.

Timothy's face changed but his grip on her tightened.

Alissa decided to stop trying to stand up and let him do as he pleases, no one was there to see them anyway.

"Look at you, still trying to act like a strict brother when you have watched them for so long already," she instead teased him.

"That time and this time are two completely different things," he grumbled.

"Well, even if you get mad do you think that would stop them from sleeping with each other?" she asked with a laugh.

Timothy sighed in return.

She was right, everything was already set in stone, and there really is nothing they can do.

And for her personality, he also thinks that no one else would be able to match her other than Ashton.

Alissa smiled and stretched his furrowed brows with her thumb.

"I am of the same age as Amber and I can say that we are old enough, you really should not worry too much about her when she survived up to this point with her personality still intact."

Timothy shook his head and sadness was visible in his eyes.

"What is it?" she asked.

"If we were there then she wouldn't be so good at killing people. She handled guns and knives very well that we as her older brothers couldn't even compare."

He rested his forehead at the space between her neck and shoulder.

She placed her hand on his head, caressing his hair, "If she didn't learn and remained inside your Empire. Do you think she would be safe with only you and the guards protecting her?"

Alissa haven't seen her kill but she can tell from Timothy's reaction just how good Amber was and how unaffected she is in killing those people.

"No."

His answer made her smile gently, "That's right. For her to really be safe, she really needs to learn all those self-defense and gun and knife handling. With your reaction, it seems she was completely fine in pulling the trigger of the gun but..."

Timothy looked up and stared straight in her eyes when she trailed off.

She smiled at him and this time it was her who caressed his cheek, "I know just how precious life is to her. Just that there is some exemption and those are the enemies."

"I understand that, I just felt sad that all those things, she must face at such a young age," he answered honestly.

"Weren't you the same?" she asked.

"Weren't you shown every possible dark side of this world at such a young age. You witnessed the person who tried to help you in running away when you were young being killed and if you weren't saved then you would have died."

"You have witnessed your own kin killing innocent people, you watched them devour one another as if they have different bloods running in their veins. Isn't that the same as hers?"

"You siblings- No not just you but all of you children of the Empire have witnessed such dark side. It just so happens that Price was the most hideous."

"You really do understand us, dont you?" he couldn't help but say after listening to her.

"It is because I met Amber that I understood that riches aren't the only things in the mind of some of those on the Empire," she answered.

"I guess, it is time for us to see one another not as the children we were once but as the young adults we currently are now," he sighed and finally said.

Alissa was about to agree when he suddenly pulled her for another long kiss.

Yup, young adults indeed.

*****

"Come on Sam, tell me what is wrong?" Xander after coming up had been knocking on the door.

But Samantha just won't open it up.

'Just what is it that I am missing?' he thought as he tried wracking his brain for the answer to everything that they have told him.

'I am a doctor, of course I am, that has been my profession for about five years already,' he started.

'Investment? I have some investments here and there. As for deposits, my pay is directly being sent there.'

'About Sam and me? What more must I think of?'

He remembered Samantha's reaction when he thought he realized it already.

She was not scared but instead was relieved in his reaction of acceptance.

He remembered how Amber and Samantha were speaking.

~"Can he just go invest and invest and invest and nothing would come of it?"~

~"Do you think with his deposit the- hmmpphh mmmpphh."~

~"Well think outside of the box."~

~"Th- Three months."~

His eyes slowly grew wide as everything started falling into pieces.

Amber was talking about him and Samantha.

She was talking about him depositing and investing on Samantha.

She was talking about him being a doctor.

He covered his mouth as he finally got the right answer and he finally realized why Samantha was so uneasy and why Amber would pummel him with her if he were to runaway.

He leaned forward and rested his head on the door.

He knew she could hear him despite him being outside.

But he didn't know she was just leaning on the door.

"Do you think I would runaway then?"

She heard him start.

"Do you thing I will not take responsibility?"

He placed both hands on the door, "Do you think I would abandon you because of it?"

Samantha covered her mouth as tears fall from her eyes, she can tell from what he was saying that he finally got what they were saying.

"Sam, I have been telling you all these time that the very moment I laid my eyes on you. I knew you would be different, I knew you would be someone else in my life. Have I not proved that enough?"

She bit her lower lip for there was a tinge of hurt in his tone.

"Why are you being uncertain towards me now? We did that did together, aren't we suppose to take responsibility together as well?" he continued asking but still heard no reply from her.

"Don't you know how happy I feel right now? That you are carrying someone that is a part of you and a part of me in your stomach. Don't you know how blessed I feel for knowing of this fact?"

He heard the door knob turn before the door slowly opened, there inside stood Samantha who was still crying after hearing such words from him.

He pursed his lips and walked in, closing the door behind him and pulling her into a tight hug.

"Silly, don't be scared. That is our child, God I never thought I would ever hear such word from my own mouth. But I really am about to become a father now," he said as he hugged her.

Samantha sobbed louder as she hugged him back.

"I was so scared, even after finding out I was filled with happiness then it changed to fear. What if you don't accept it? This feels so sudden as well," she said.

Xander chuckled, "Sudden? We weren't using any kind of protection, this is not sudden at all."

She hit him in the chest with her fist to which he just laughed.

His laughter was truly music to her ears, she can hear just how happy he is.

"I love you Sam. I love you so much. And I will love our child as much as I can," he said as he cupped her face with both his hands.

She smiled, "Hey, don't you dare forget me when the child is born."

He grinned, "As if I would ever forget you. You and I will be together until we grow old, our children we can only guide them and surely someday they would leave the nest as well. In the end it would still be the two of us together."

She cried even more, he was speaking about growing old together. He was speaking about them growing old together.

"Stop crying now, it won't be good for you and the baby," he wiped her tears even kissing them off her face.

He stared at her eyes before he came close and kissed her fully, to which Samantha answered wholeheartedly.

This was among the happiest days of her life.
