239 I Have A Proposal

"She had fallen asleep while we were helping her change," she added as they approach the bed.

Ashton sighed as he sat down beside her caressing her face.

The wounds in her leg and arm was already treated for they were light ones.

"What is this?" Xander asked, he was never told of this.

"This is something we have completely forgotten, even she herself," Ashton answered.

"What is it then? Why would you forget something so important as her suddenly collapsing on the ground," Xander asked in wonder looking at his brother.

"Is this what you were talking about when we were about to leave for Kuiper country?" Timothy looked at Ashton and asked.

Ashton just nodded.

Timothy sighed and looked at Xander, "This is the side effect of the cure of her illness."

"Side effect? Such strong side effect? Wait, come to think of it, what was her sickness and what was the cure? Now what kind of side effect is this?" Xander asked in succession.

"It was a very rare disease. Somehow the patient would feel tremendous pain from their muscles to their bones to their internal organs. And when a pain reliever was not administered on the first hour of the attack the patient would feel this pain for the whole day."

Ashton started explaining, his eyes never leaving her face.

"They were able to find the cure but it's too strong that a side effect occurred. She would suddenly fall weak for a whole day. She couldn't even move a limb and would be too sleepy just like now."

"There are times she would feel it as it starts kicking in but this time due to all the events she regarded it as just being tired. And thus this happened."

They fell silent after he explained everything.

They already knew about her sickness so it no longer came as a shock to hear that there are such things.

"Allow me to give her some drips. It would help since she couldn't eat," Xander suggested as he went to get it.

Liana have already told them where the things are.

Ashton held her hand as he pondered over what had just happened.

This time made the him realize something, what if she was too tired and thinks of it as just that.

Then while facing the enemies she would suddenly fall or collapse.

This is a very critical one they haven't thought before for she always knew when it would be kicking in.

"This would be a crucial point in her day to day life," Timothy said as Xander gave Amber some drips.

"Is there no way for us to find a way to I mean cure this side effect?" Xander asked.

"Mother had been trying to do that," Ashton answered.

"Then was Ashley the same? Did she have any side effect as well?"

"Amber had a spare?"

"No the upgraded cure have always been with her," Ashton answered.

"With her?"

"Her spinal fluid somehow became the cure to this sickness but always extracting might cause her more harm. For all the medicine that was tried on her was injected at her back."

"This caused a fear in her and she would hold her breath every time an extraction was done. She gave Ashley one without batting an eyelid despite being traumatized and gave another one for mother to study it in order to have more cure at hand."

They once again fell silent.

"How can she not be strong when since childhood she was given so much hurdle to jump through?" Samantha couldn't help but to comment.

Alissa could only nod her head as she too watch Amber sleep.

"I'll help her then," Xander said with conviction.

They looked at him.

"My specialty may not entirely be with medicines but that doesn't mean I can't learn. I'll help aunt Liana to perfect that cure at the same time find a way to remove the side effect."

"The side effect..." Ashton spoke up.

"Her half immunity to so many things was also a side effect. Mother have told her that she will find a way to help remove it but Thalie insisted that she needs it now. For one of the most lethal weapon out there are poisons."

"Then what if what we feared happens?" Timothy asked in return.

Ashton didn't reply, if it happens then she would be placed in more danger once it kicks in.

If it don't happen then she would be much stronger than the others.

He had been weighing this matter all these time and even now, he was still pondering over it.

"I… have a proposal," just then Amber spoke as she slowly opened her eyes.

Her eyes landed first at Ashton and in that few seconds Ashton understood what she wants.

He slowly shook his head, "That's already too much."

"Price loves using poison in everything, this is the only way. I still have a lot of time," Amber answered back in a weak voice.

"No," Ashton still said.

Amber didn't answer back but she remained staring back at him.

Ashton shook his head and left the room without looking back.

Pain crossed his eyes and Amber saw it but she really have no other choice.

Price Empire loves using poison in every weapon they have and being on the field of medicine surely they have stronger ones as well.

This was proven when Xander and Timothy were kidnapped. The laid back attitude of their enemies when she was wounded by the knife shows that the poison in it was potent.

"What happened?" Timothy asked looking at her seriously.

"Let me rest then I will explain but I already have a way for all these problems," Amber replied as she close her eyes.

The other two looked for Ashton and found him by the bar counter at a room beside the kitchen.

They each took a drink before sitting on each side of his.

"She loves doing things on her own and sometimes I would only find it out when it was already half way through. And all of it is because it involves her being hurt," Ashton spoke up without them asking anything.

"Is that the reason for that fight a while ago?" Xander asked.

Ashton sighed, "She got used being too independent that there are multiple times she would forget that when she's hurt, even those who care for her would be hurt."

"I no longer even know what to feel, whether to get mad or not," he added as he drank from his glass.

"So are you saying that the plan she was going to say was already on going?" Timothy asked.

Ashton nodded, "The look in her eyes told me so. That she had been doing it for a while now."

He chuckled bitterly.

No wonder there are times where she sounded different or times she wouldn't even answer his calls and just say she was busy.

It was all because of this.

"It must have been going on even before she came to Celestial country back then," he added.

No one was truly following her, the guards left to her were there to watch her but that doesn't mean they are to know everything that she was doing.

Though he heard that she would fall sick back then and be fine the next day, he never thought it would be because of this.

"Even I whom you all think understands her the most would not know everything that was running on her mind," Ashton said once again.

They can hear the difficulty in his voice as he spoke of this.

Ashton once again sighed, she had indeed confessed how much she cared for him more than her revenge but sometimes he just couldn't feel it especially during this crucial times.

Xander and Timothy could only accompany him, he was in her life more than they are, especially on the later years. They couldn't entirely tell him anything about her during this time despite being her brothers.

That day Amber would wake and sleep a few times but not once have she seen Ashton beside her.

The fear she felt when he walked out of the room without looking at her in Apophis country started coming back.

She was indeed too selfish, if she were to find out something like this from him when it was already half way through she would definitely be angry as well.

But this started even before she fell in love with him and before he confessed to her.

She stared at the ceiling and the surrounding was already dark, she was not crying but instead she was pondering over so many things.

What else have she not told him and stuff.

What else must she tell him?

She knew she was unfair all these time she knew his every move but she has kept some stuff from him.

She couldn't help but sigh.
