311 I Can Handle It Just Fine

"Seriously, I have nothing to do here. Why must I still join?" Amber complained the moment they got in the elevator and the door closed.

"As you might forgot since you keep complaining about being present. You are among the top major shareholder in this company. Obviously, you have to be present since it is a board meeting," Harvey wanted to roll his eyes at her for complaining about the obvious.

"That's what I have been telling you, I am of no use here. I have no shares at all," she shrugged and shook her head as if he wasn't listening to her at all.

Harvey furrowed his brows and looked at her.

"What? You didn't read what you had signed and now you are wondering why I am talking like this?" she asked.

"Amber... you didn't do what I think you just did right?" he asked full of uncertainty.

Amber grinned and slapped him hard in the back causing him to return, "I am counting on you, highest major shareholder."

Just in time for the door to open, indicating that they have reached their desired floor.

And now, Harvey was facing his family with this knowledge and this shares. But inside he was cursing Amber for putting him in this situation and even enjoying the show on the front seat.

He didn't even know how she was able to deceive his grandfather or how she changed everything from the dark.

No, he no longer needs to think about it. She was the Pianist while Ashton was in the underworld. Forging his signature and bringing in and out the contract was easy.

Though they must have done it because he was their friend and forging his signature was the only way for him to accept it as well.

But he shall make sure to ask her about this after this meeting.

"Why would you be asking about that?" David finally asked.

"Just thought you might want to check it before your decide," Harvey shrugged.

Feeling something was amiss, David tasked his secretary to get it.

He, Harvey's father and even Henzler looked into it. And the first page was obviously of the minor share.

"It's your minor share, what's wrong with it?" David asked.

Though he must admit that he felt his heart jump when a different thought entered his mouth.

"Why don't you flip it? Then maybe you'll change your question?" Amber spoke up this time for Harvey didn't know about the changes in the contract.

And when they did, all of their faces turned pale. On the next page was his signing of buying the major share that Amber holds, with this power, their family wouldn't be able to do anything. And even though those board members jumped in. It was still impossible.

Harvey holds more than 25% of the shares of the Empire. While their family holds 25% of the shares.

"I don't think I'd agree with that though, shouldn't I be entitled of certain things as well?" he then added, looking at them like a real business man.

Even his smile had this cunning hint in them.

And Amber knew that her part was finally done, except for one thing.

*****

Amber stretched out as she stepped out of the elevator in the parking area.

Harvey on the other hand, sighed after a long battle with his grandfather. And after three hours of battling him, he finally got half the properties of the Empire to watch over.

"How much more cunning could you get?" he then asked looking at her.

"As much as possible until such time that I would be able to bring down all those people that I need to bring down," she answered.

"How must I thank you for this? At the beginning of our talk you didn't gave me the major shares. Obviously, you just gave it after finding out that I was in trouble," he then said looking at her seriously.

"Well you are wrong about one thing though, you didn't sign the minor share on the first signing," Amber said making Harvey shake his head in defeat.

He no longer finds it in himself to be shock by this. He had been shock too many times that he started feeling like this was already normal, especially since she was a cunning one.

"Second, with everything in your hands. I will only ask you of one big favor in the future," she added.

Harvey looked at her seriously.

"I have to make a bit of a change with my final plan because of this, do give me some slack," she smiled at him with a defeated look in her eyes.

'She had to change her plan in order to help me out. Just what kind of person am I when all I have was because of her? If I don't help her at all?' he thought.

"I will surely help you out once the time comes and you needed my help," he then said with a smile.

The very first gentleman smile he had given her since their fight about a week ago.

Amber smiled in return, "Well, that would not yet be in the near future so don't be tense. But do raise your standing by then so that there wouldn't be any problem once I asked your help."

"Don't belittle me, I can handle it just fine," he then said reassuringly before each of them turned to their cars.

Harvey frowned when he didn't see Russel in her chair, he checked his phone checking if she left a message but there was none.

He opened the door and found a note on the passenger seat.

~Maybe it is really better for the two of us to part ways. Maybe when we are together, we'd just end up facing each other with a wall in between us. I was trying Harvey but I guess I really wouldn't be able to smash that wall down. I was never mad at you for not upholding your promise, I was mad for you tried your best to forget about me. Was I a burden to you?~

"No, no, no," Harvey started shaking his head as he looked around and his frantic look caught Amber's attention who just got in her car.

She went down and approached him, "What happened? Where's Russel?"

"She left," Harvey looked at her while still feeling shocked of the fact that they will once again separated.

Amber held his shoulder seeing as he seems to be disoriented, "Tell me what happened and focus Harvey. Do you want me to hit you?"

This is not a good time for their little love problems, people are still after Russel's life. If she were to go on her own right now, surely she would be in danger.

Amber didn't include this fact in her calculations, she didn't include the fact that Russel might be the one leaving on her own.

If so then Amber would still had Ashton leave some guards on her.

Even she wanted to get irritated but with the look of Harvey right now, it was obvious she needs to be the one who is calm.

Harvey handed her the letter and Amber already have an idea of what may have happened between them. And she do remember the look Russel has a while ago.

It doesn't seem like she was just sleepy but instead she looks resigned.

"I should have answered her a while ago," Harvey then said kicking the tire of his car.

"Enough with that, nothing will happen with you blaming yourself. For now we have to find her," Amber berated as she fished out her phone and started calling.

And not to her surprise, the phone was turned off.

"Do you have your laptop with you?" she then asked.

Harvey nodded and took it out from the backseat.

"Go and call for Ash, if worst comes to worst then we will be needing his help in this," she then said.

Harvey wanted to rebuke that she shouldn't think in such a way but in the end he couldn't, if Russel were to leave the premises then surely they must also thought about the worst case scenario.

Amber started hacking through their system, the best place to check first is within the building. She knew Harvey could just ask for the record but going to their security office would take more time than her hacking through their system.

On the other hand, Harvey gave Ashton a call who was able to answer instantly.

"Got it, I'll bring Aldger with me."

Other's may think that, them being together in this would be an overkill but in this group it is better to be much more prepared than be sorry that they are lacking.
