Chapter 809 Let Go Of Me

Becker kept silent for about ten seconds. Then he turned to Anna and gazed at her beautiful face. However, he didn't expect Anna to be looking back at him too. Thus, he ended up staring straight at her on her eyes. He felt his heartbeat doubled, Anna looked cold and emotionless.

"Aren't you going to answer me? Tell me if you can go against your parents for me," asked Anna seriously.

"No, I won't."

"Okay, I think I got my answer. You cannot because you choose to obey everything they say. But if so, why do you keep on haunting me? Aren't they telling you to marry Rosy and not me? What kind of relationship do you want with me then? Do you want me to be your mistress?" Anna spat those words without even blinking. She could have done everything to stop her tears from rolling down her cheeks but she failed.

She never wanted to be this emotional in front of Becker. Nevertheless, she never thought that confronting her feelings for him would be this painful.

"No, it's not what you think. I'm not going to ask you to be my mistress. Just give me some time, please. I'll handle it," replied Becker in a hurry.

He didn't know how to explain the situation to Anna but he knew for sure that he didn't want to lose her.

"What if I don't want to wait any longer? You're the Master of the Wang Clan and I'm just an ordinary doctor. I just want to have a normal life. I have no plans of getting into any ridiculous drama."

"I never plan to marry Rosy. I don't like her. Do you get me? But then I have to compromise with everything sometimes."

Queenie and Wesley had promised Becker to authorize Becker in developing the local market on behalf of the Wang Clan after he got engaged to Rosy.

What he needed was just to grab that authorization. It was only after he already had the authorization in his hand that he could protect it from being taken away, more so, defy his parents and break his engagement with Rosy.

He just needed time.

He would get everything under control once he got the authorization.

"You said that you're not going to marry her but then you are attending the engagement ceremony two days from now. So when are you going to tell her that you won't marry her, huh?" retorted Anna.

Becker wanted to comfort her by telling her a schedule. It was just that he couldn't do it yet. Even if he received the authorization right after the engagement ceremony, he would still need some time to develop his own resources. Thus, he got no clue on how long it would take for him to achieve his goal neither.

He wanted to buy himself some time to launch multiple projects by postponing his wedding with Rosy after the engagement. Thus, he would be ready and be able to show his parents that he was capable of developing the local m

nted a distraction.

She knew Anna very well. Moreover, she also knew that the only reason why Anna was turning Becker down was their social statuses. They didn't belong to the same social group.

However, Linda never thought of that as a big deal. She could tell that Becker loved Anna very much just by the way he looked at her.

One's words could lie but the eyes couldn't. Linda had seen the sincerity in Becker's eyes.

He gazed at her like Anna meant the world to him.

"Okay, where do you want to go? With whom?" asked Linda after a short while.

Smoothing her hair, Anna sniffed and said, "I want to go to LJ City, alone."

"Alone? No, you can't go there alone. You're not strong enough to protect yourself when you're in danger. It's dangerous to go alone," said Bun at once.

"No, I'll be careful. Besides, it's very safe there. I just want to have a nice trip alone. I'll be back in a week. You two don't need to worry about me," Anna insisted with a forced smile.

Before Bun could even say anything else, Linda stopped her and said, "Okay, if you really want to go alone. Just have fun. Don't think too much."

Nodding her head, Anna turned away and left. She was afraid that she might cry before Linda and Bun if she wouldn't leave right away. Anna always thought of herself as a strong woman and she would never cry for a man. Thus, she didn't want to cry in front of them.

'What's wrong with me? He's just a man, ' she wondered.

Anna had already left the house when Bun finally turned to Linda and worriedly asked, "My Lady, how can you allow Anna to go on a trip alone? What if she gets into troubles? I've heard that the public order in some places in LJ City is poor. Anna is emotionally unstable now and she might seek solace by drinking in the bars. What if she gets drunk and runs into some rascals?"
