It strangely felt like if he didn't speak about his past or spoke about it, Lan Wu would get upset either way. But since he didn't want Lan Wu to have anything to do with Qilin Kai, answering his questions was the best choice.
"Did you love her?" asked Lan Wu dropping a nuclear bomb from the very start. The question was too personal that it even surprised him. The words just spilt out of his mouth and by the time he realised how wrong that question was it was already too late.
Huishe Yue's brow creased slightly his heart leaping out of his chest. What sort of question was this? It was as though Lan Wu was going straight for the kill not giving him time to warm up. His eyes blinked slightly faster than usual as he replied, "Uh..... ye-yes. Yes, I did but why, why are you....."
Lan Wu: (covers eyes with hands internally feeling so embarrassed).
He might be burying his face in his hands internally but outwardly he had a blank expression seeming rather innocent. He shrugged his shoulders as he replied, "No reason."
No reason my ass. He felt his heart sink at Huishe Yue's response but why would he feel this way? This was ridiculous. Well, unfortunately for him the problem only got worse the more Huishe Yue spoke.
"She was all I could think about when I lay in that cold and filthy place. When I thought of my sister I would worry and anxiously try to escape but.... when I thought of Wei Wei, I would be strengthened," said Huishe Yue before turning to face Lan Wu.
He wore a reminiscent expression brimming with joy and an inexplicable sense of happiness as he said this. "I took each day in strides looking forward to the day I could see her face again. She was my light in that dark creepy place," he continued before looking away. The look on his face changed drastically to an incandescent expression with reddened eyes.
Lan Wu missed this expression on Huishe Yue's face as he was dealing with his own problems. His chest was twisting painfully like someone had cut his torso open before his heart was ripped out and crushed. He honestly thought he was having a heart attack.
He clutched his chest tightly before slowly turning his head only to be met by Huishe Yue's terrifying expression that sent his soul flying away so fast that he doubted it would come back again.
Huishe looked straight into his eyes and asked, "You won't betray me like she did, right?"
Lan Wu, 'mummy.....'
Too bad his mummy had already joined their ancestors and wouldn't be able to rescue him. He should never have asked about this Wei Wei person because now he was paying the high price that comes with a curious mind.
This version of Huishe Yue he only saw in that underground prison. It had been such a long time that he had forgotten how terrifying this person was.
Huishe Yue drew closer to him as his eyes flashed an ominous white light. "Wu-er, why aren't you answering? Do you also think I am not good enough?"
Lan Wu felt all the hairs on his back stand on end as he stammered, "No, no you.... uh are per-perfect so..... handsome," his voice trailing off at the end entranced by this enchanting beauty. It took so much mental strength to extricate himself from the enchantment. "I would never ever do that to you. You are the very definition of perfection. Why would I betray my...," he said finishing the rest of the sentence in his mind.
He would never say, 'My male god,' out loud otherwise it would sound weird. His words weren't rainbow farts either. He meant every word he said. Ever since he fell for that face he had changed allegiance. He would never hurt Ji Yao or Ji Wen but he would probably listen to Huishe Yue more than them.
As Huishe Yue got closer the aggressive air surrounding him gradually cooled. As soon as he leaned on Lan Wu's shoulder he suddenly changed from a vicious dragon to a silly little pup demanding cuddles.
Without warning, he embraced Lan Wu causing him to go off balance. The both of them tumbled to the ground with Huishe Yue's nose rubbing against Lan Wu's skin tickling him.
Lan Wu couldn't help but chuckle as he tried to push Huishe Yue away. This Huishe was like a big husky refusing to let go of its owner. Lan Wu thought it cute but also weird so he tapped Huishe Yue's shoulder trying to get his attention.
"Huishe Yue, you are squishing me. I, am not, a plushy. Now.... let go.....," he said but Huishe Yue only held him tighter.
"Call me Yue-ge," said Huishe Yue his IQ thrown out of the window. He was like a cat high on catnip.
"Huh?" asked Lan Wu as he turned his head slightly to look at Huishe Yue who was acting weird only to be met by a fluffy head of hair tickling half his face. He raised his hand wanting to touch it but he clenched his fist in the end before placing his hand back down.
"Call me Yue-ge," said Huishe Yue again with the vibration from his body transmitting towards Lan Wu's causing massive fission.
"Why?" asked Lan Wu feeling a weird mix of emotions. It felt nice hugging but why did it feel like the kind of dog food Rui Li likes? He bet a thousand times that if she was here she would be blushing shyly while wishing she could capture this moment.
"Because I am older than you," replied Huishe Yue openly sniffing Lan Wu. When that scent entered his system it was like a stream of happiness was wrapping around his aetherial veins travelling all the way to his aether. It felt so comforting that his brain turned to mush.
"So? Then I can just call you by your full name," replied Lan Wu teasing this big husky.
Huishe Yue, "..." How come he didn't know his lackey was too stubborn.. This had to be corrected before his tail grew too long.
