A deck below Xiaoyu was asleep while all this was happening. She had closed herself to the entire world for these past few days. When she had come back from Ji Yao's cabin that day she had slammed the door of her room and slumped on Rui Li's bed breathing heavily.
She lay there for a good half an hour calming her frenzied emotions. Because her hands were outstretched as she lay on the bed her fingertips touched something under the pillow. Thinking it was one of Rui Li's romance books she loves reading, Xiaoyu took it as she sat upright.
Placing the book on her lap she flipped it open. Her thought at that time was to read this beautiful romance story and calm her aching heart but who would have thought she would get slapped across the face by a heartwarming story about how her crush ended up with Rui Fei?
Her hand trembled in rage as she thought of all the advice she had taken from Rui Li. Was that all a lie? Was Rui Li rooting for her brother this entire while giving her terrible advice?
No, it wasn't all a lie. Recalling Rui Li's enthusiasm at first when she told her about her feelings it wasn't fake. Rui Li was genuinely excited and wanted to help her win the heart of the one she loved. But somewhere along the lines, something changed.
"That bitch," she said before the door was suddenly opened. The so-called bitch was standing by the door staring at the book in Xioayu's hand. Xiaoyu's rage flared up again and this time she tore the book into shreds right before Rui Li's eyes.
Rui Li froze for a moment before saying, "Okay, I deserved that." After saying this she walked away and even politely closed the door. She wasn't mad about it simply walking away.
Xiaoyu though didn't feel any better. She covered herself with her quilt and spent her days like this.
She knew something was happening on the ship when it shook earlier but she ignored it closing her puffy eyes falling back to sleep. All of a sudden the sounds of jeers and boisterous laughter of people making merry caught flooded her ears.
Annoyed by the sound she knitted her brows as she got up to see what was going on. Her expression crumbled when she saw where she was. She was no longer in her cabin on Red Bane. Instead, she was lying in a shabby looking room with nothing pleasing to the eye.
It was a room decorated in red with a scandalous feel to it. The air in the room wasn't fresh. It was a mixture of rancid and musty smells that made her almost vomit. She got up with a face full of confusion as she lifted her hand to cover her nose from the unbearable smell.
Her hand froze midair when she saw the latrion chain wrapped around her wrist. Terrified she shuffled on the bed only to have her heart sink when she saw the dress she was wearing. It was the one she was supposed to wear when Ji Yao came to her rescue. The only difference was that this time the dress was torn and bloodied like she had been through so much.
Her blood ran cold at this sight. She was suddenly filled with endless despair as tears flowed down her face. In a hoarse voice she called out Ji Yao's name but no one answered. She knew that if she stopped calling for him she would be subjected to a lot of misery and die from the torment so she kept calling for him to save her.
Finally, it seemed her cries had been heard because a clanking sound came from the door like someone was unlocking it in a frenzy. Thinking it was Ji Yao a tremulous smile crept up her face as her tears flowed down her cheeks. But as soon as that door opened her face sank. It wasn't Ji Yao but someone else.
It was that beast that abducted her from her home when she was young. The vertical slits in Huang She's eyes widened when he saw her wide awake. He immediately closed the door behind him making sure it was locked before sitting beside her on the bed.
Xiaoyu scurried backwards curling up into a ball as she wiped her tears with the back of her hand. Huang She seemed to enjoy this timid look very much as he scooched over before caressing her face with the back of his disgusting fingers. "Ah... still so timid yet we did so much last night. How do you feel? Does your body still hurt?"
The thought that Huang She was dead a long time ago didn't even cross her mind as she sank deeper into this terrible illusion.
"Who were you calling just now... Ha! The prince of the sea? Why would he be here? They stormed Prince Rui's Pavilion last night but... lucky for me I hadn't reached his place yet otherwise hahaha..." He said all this as he moved even closer.
"Since you can no longer have babies for the Prince then.....," he said glancing down at Xiaoyu's body, "how about you carry my offspring. I promise I will treat you well." His voice carried a hint of teasing as he crawled on the bed towards her.
She looked away with her hands tucked between her bent knees her lips contorted in an ugly way like she was about to cry. The creaking sound from the bed made her heart jump in fright as he drew closer to her.
She shut her eyes tightly as she began to chant, "Please wake up, please wake up, wake up, please," but her voice trailed off when she felt a hot rotten breath brush against her skin.
It smelt like a rotten rat under the trash in an alley. Thinking of that mouth touching hers she couldn't bear it. She would rather die than let this filthy man touch her. With courage that came from who knows where she lifted her leg and kicked him with all her might.
Maybe because Xiaoyu looked weak Huang She didn't have any guard against her. She was just a weak girl from a fishing village so what could he be afraid of? Unfortunately, he truly underestimated her. Before he even had time to get up she was already holding a candle stand which she bashed into his skull like a maniac.
All that anger and frustration she felt was vented out on Huang She bludgeoning him to death. Huang She had no time to even fight back. This crazed little girl went after him like a madwoman only stopping when his body was barely recognizable.. With a satisfied smile covered in drops of blood splatters, she towered over him her upper body heaving fervently.
