Chapter 273 - When Crazy Meets Crazy

The best way to describe this scene would be like when a couple is walking down a mall passageway and a shirtless hunky guy walks by them only for the girl to gawk at the school grass in the presence of her boyfriend.

One can only imagine how much vinegar was spilling over at this moment. Ji Yao glared at her like a demon fresh out of hell looking for blood. As he glared at her angrily he clasped Rui Fei's chin before pulling him back to look at him.

When he looked at Rui Fei his eyes carried a hint of annoyance that had this little cub in a fluster. He pulled Ji Yao closer and embraced him as though trying to say, 'Baby I only have eyes for you.'

These two had completely missed the point. They really needed to get their priorities checked.

The girl vanished on the spot leaving behind a wisp of smoke. When she reappeared she was dragging her brother from the cold sea to the sandy beach. Because her physique was weak she had to work harder than most.

Stumbling on the smooth rocks on the sea bed she dragged him out of the water in tears. Her long jet black hair was drenched by the seawater and her immaculate make up drooped down her face making her look like a vengeful ghost of a woman who was drowned to her death by her husband.

Her brother's body got snug by something underwater resulting in a terrible fall. She fell flat on her ass with her entire body submerged in water. Because the fall was unexpected she drank a few mouthfuls of the salty sea.

She rose from the sea coughing up the water. Her eyes stung but she didn't stop looking around for her brother. His body was face down floating on the water. She hurriedly got up her soaked through garments weighing heavy on her.

With a bound of determination, she hurriedly swam over to him and finally managed to drag Dong Jie out of the water. As soon as she got him out of the water, she lay sprawled on the sandy beach looking defeated. Her chest was heaving rapidly as she recovered that is until she heard mocking laughter coming from behind her.

Startled, she got up ready to run with her brother. She stopped moving when she saw it was that very man who she had brought to this place. Qilin Kai was seated

with one leg propped up on a rock as he said, "How pathetic."

As he said this, he bit of the remainder of his banana and threw the peel away before slowly walking in her direction. The chains were still on his wrists but he was as domineering as ever with his fiery gaze. She was terrified but she was forced to hold her ground for her brother's sake. Defending him she lay over him and yelled, "Get back," in a tremulous voice like she was just going to break out in tears but Qilin Kai didn't care for her tantrum. He walked over to Dong Jie pushing her away before searching the passed out man and said, "How then are you going to collect all your treasures if I fuckin go away."

Overpowered by him despite having had latrion chains binding his wrist, she fell to the side almost in tears. He found a poor looking storage pouch and snorted in disgust. "And you two are hitman?"

He began to go through it, tossing everything on the ground without a care. He only stopped making a mess after finding a green porcelain bottle. He took off the cloth sealing the bottle and sniffed it. He threw the cloth at her and said, "What sort of crap do you two have? You don't even have high quality elixirs," he said before pouring the contents on Dong Jie's face. It's not because he was kind or anything. It was because he wanted her to remove the latrion chain restricting him. The colour on Dong Jie began to gradually return to his face but he didn't immediately come to. He lay there like a corpse with his wound healing but at a speed not fast enough for Qilin Kai. Pissed off by the slow speed, he tossed the things in the storage bag but what he found was something he didn't expect. In fact, he found something rather special. He had thrown it out on the sand before however, he felt something familiar about that wooden box.

He hurriedly reached over and grabbed it before hastily opening it. Inside was something that he couldn't fathom. Something so special to any Qilin and this special thing was an antler so familiar to him. He remembered each time he saw this antler on a certain someone's head in Niuq he would writhe in jealousy.

Now that same person he was jealous of had parted with their antler. How could he care about anything else? Kneeling on the ground he stared at the antler inside the wooden box in awe. The antler lay silent in the box, its jagged edges from the breakage were much more prominent.

The only way she would part with her precious antler would be if she was involved in a terrible bloody fight, a life and death situation. If his cousin was injured to the point that she lost her antler it means she was weak.

This find was the best piece of news he had in the past five decades. That haughty princess with an arrogant cold face that seemed untouchable had finally fallen and he couldn't wait to see her in her weakness.

While Qilin Kai was busy enjoying his moment of bliss, Dong Jie woke up in his sister's arms with his mind in a haze. He subconsciously raised his hand to touch his face. But before he could do that his hand was held by her, stopping him from touching his partially healed wound. She leaned down and whispered to him, "Let's go.... brother, please," but Dong Jie was still out of his mind. He was gazing around, his mind in a daze.

Anxious, she started shaking her brother vigorously and her voice getting even more tremulous by the second but Dong Jie hadn't regained his senses. Her panicked expression grew worse and worse by the minute, especially when Qilin Kai moved his attention from the wooden box to her brother.

Like a killer setting his sites on an unfortunate soul in a horror movie, he walked over, each step more domineering than the next. His pace got faster and faster till he grasped Dong Jie by the collar.

"Where.... where did you get this? Huh?" as he asked this, his eyes were maniacal terrifying the girl so much that she began to cry.

It seemed her loud sobbing irritated him because he lashed out at her yelling, "What are you crying for, huh? Now shut the fuck up before I shut you up myself..... where were we? Oh yes, now tell me where and how did you find this?" he said this, licking his dry lips making him appear anything but sane. His patience wearing thin, he shook Dong Jie a few times but there was not much of a response.

It was as though his nephew had beaten him silly. Treading dangerously close to the edge of losing his cool, he threw Dong Jie harshly to the ground wondering whether he should go after Qilin Hao and see for himself her weak state before killing her.

But the plan of going in blind was not ideal right now. He would rather be sure she was weak before attempting any move. To find out her strength level it was either he beat the information out of that ungrateful bastard who betrayed him and joined forces with Qilin Hao or he find a way to spread his name to the public so that once it reaches Qilin Hao's ears it would draw her out of her lair.

But firstly, before he could do that be had to free himself from these chains binding him. To do that he was going to have to use Dong Jie to threaten her to release these latrion chains. As soon as he made that decision Qilin Kai shifted his hands from Dong Jie's collar up to his throat as he threatened her, "You know what to do, release me or I will kill him." She tried to grab her brother and flee but he strangled tightly as he said, "Uh, uh, uh... he is still injured and right now I can snap his neck in two... do you understand?"

"I don't think that would be necessary," said a low sinister voice behind Qilin Kai. Because of the latrion, he could barely sense a fly approaching let alone half a Nocru.

He slowly let go of Dong Jie and without turning his head he got up with a sly smile on his face. He scoffed as he turned his head meeting Emperor Rui's gaze. In his hands, Emperor Rui held a key to the chains on Qilin Kai's wrists.. This moment would go down in history as the day crazy met crazy.
