Chapter 318 - You Are Perfect For Me, Flaws And All

"Wan Wan, tell dage to stop. He hasn't done anything wrong... I, I was just helping him," she said her voice distraught but Rui Yewan was in no mood to listen to her pleas.

He let go of her arm his eyes glowering at her. "Li-er, do you think this is one of your silly novels where you just pick up a random stranger and raise them, huh? If you were so concerned why didn't you call for Lady Ching Sei when you found him? Do you think I am fuckin stupid?"

"What if he hurt you? Did you even consider our feelings when you outrightly put yourself in danger? You have no fuckin idea what that boy's origins are yet you just cosy up with him like you know him. What the hell is wrong with you?"

After delivering this earful Rui Yewan pulled at his hair pacing back and forth before abruptly stopping in front of her. He wordlessly stretched out his hand at her making Rui Li subconsciously take a step back.

She also knew that she was in the wrong. The moment she found him she should have called Lady Ching Sei but she was overly absorbed in her feeling at that time. Now that she had a clear mind she felt awful for worrying them. Since she knew she was wrong what was next was the punishment which explained why Rui Yewan was stretching out his hand.

With her tongue pushing against her cheek in frustration she took out one of the books from her storage pouch and placed it on Rui Yewan's hand. Rui Yewan placed the book back in her hand and said, "Not those ones."

Rui Li raised her head looking like she was going to cry. She was like a teenager addicted to her cellphone only to have it confiscated by her parents after doing something wrong. That is to say, she was extremely reluctant. She took out one of her least favourite danmei books and gave it to Rui Yewan but Rui Yewan wasn't satisfied.

"All of them," he said in an imperative tone as he put the confiscated book in his storage.

"Wan Wan, you can't leave me to read the romance stuff. I am not into it anymore," she said implying that the straight literature was not to her taste recently. It was either danmei or she would rather die of boredom.

Rui Yewan ignored her cute appearance and said, "Don't try and act cute with me. Hand all of them over." Rui Li had no choice but to clear her favourite collection handing it over to Rui Yewan. She didn't even know when she would get her stuff back and judging from her brother's expression it wasn't going to be anytime soon.

"You shouldn't be hanging with boys in private. If I catch you next time I will break their legs," he muttered while shoving the books in his storage, "then kill them."

Rui Li, "...."

While Rui Li was getting the 'stay away from boys' speech, Rui Fei was on the verge of breaking this toothpick's legs. If it weren't for Ji Yao stopping him he would have gone through with his plan.

Ji Yao held his arm silently telling him to let go but Rui Fei didn't immediately do it. He didn't spare Ji Yao a glance because he was busy glowering at the boy who looked like he was going to cry at any minute.

When the hand on his arm tightened followed by a cold voice calling out, "Rui Fei," he finally loosened his grasp on the boy and let him go. By letting go I don't mean gently placing him on the ground. He simply let go and the boy hit the ground with a loud thud.

The boy curled up on the ground hissing in pain with his hand on his leg. Rui Fei who was too pissed off to be rational walked away and sat on a boulder while watching the boy like a hawk.

Ji Yao crouched down and carefully scrutinized the boy from his wounds to his physical condition. Like Rui Fei, he suspected something but the likelihood of the boy talking before Rui Fei kills him out of anger was slim so he had to stop him before it was too late.

Ji Yao called over Old Du to attend to his wounds and watch over him before getting up to talk to Rui Fei but when he looked at the boulder the cub had been sitting at it was empty. He slightly knitted his brows and looked around only to notice Rui Fei's faint figure disappearing into the forest at the edge of the village.

Ji Yao followed his steps and found Rui Fei standing at an opening at the edge of a cliff with a picturesque view of the mountain range. His black robe was fluttering with the breeze and his hair that was now silvery grey to the roots looked especially dazzling enhancing the charm of the view.

Ji Yao halted his steps for a second watching Rui Fei from afar. He didn't know what sort of attitude Rui Fei would show towards him right now. This is why he stopped not sure whether to advance or not. If Rui Fei wanted to be alone and rejects him would he (Ji Yao) be able to handle it?

Just when he decided not to stick around to find out Rui Fei suddenly turned around and stretched out his hand beckoning him to come over. Ji Yao clenched the hilt of his sword a little nervous before walking over in slow strides.

Rui Fei was a little impatient so he took a step forward and grasped Ji Yao's wrist pulling him into his arms. Hugging his waist with his chin resting on Ji Yao's shoulder he whispered, "I don't know why I get mad easily.... Yao-ge, do you.... do you dislike it."

When he saw that boy with his sister he doesn't know what took hold of him. All he knew was that he wanted to kill that brat. If it weren't for Ji Yao he might actually have done it. Plus this boy was suspicious with his survival brought to question. His desire to kill him was justified in his mind but he didn't want to appear too ruthless in front of Ji Yao.

Though he didn't want to show this side of him to Ji Yao, he still couldn't help himself. He couldn't control his response. Ji Yao slipped his fingers through Rui Fei's hair gently caressing the youth's scalp. "Then do you dislike that I am a neat freak?" asked Ji Yao embracing Rui Fei tighter with his face gently rubbing against the youth's.

"No," replied Rui Fei with his hands tightly grasping Ji Yao's waist as he engrossed himself in the man's scent.

"You aren't perfect but.... you are perfect for me, flaws and all," replied Ji Yao surrounded by a sugary atmosphere sickeningly sweet for the common folk.
