Chapter 344 - Can't Think Of A Title Haha

Dawn broke on a new day but the overcast sky hurled a gloomy atmosphere on the fleet anchored in the middle of the sea. Because of the cold weather, the deck was nearly empty with a few crew members cleaning the main deck that is only on Red Bane.

Blue Urchin, Night Shade and Silent Wind sailed quietly as the cleaning protocols weren't as strict as on Red Bane. When it was cold their captains would at least be lenient and let them off but not Red Bane.

Even if their captain was out of commission for a decade they would still scrub like he was going to wake up the next moment or haunt them in their dreams. That is because Ji Yao couldn't stand filth even the anchor wasn't spared during deep cleaning.

The few crew members who probably lost a bet and were unlucky enough to gain cleaning duty were covered up in fur coats like little fluffballs while scrubbing away. A few feet over was the door that had barely been opened for the past ten days.

Everyone was curious to know what Rui Fei was doing in there with their unconscious boss. He would occasionally come out to get food and medicine but like the wind, he would be back in the room again locking it behind him. One time Old Du tried to take a look but even he couldn't get past the threshold of the cabin intensifying the unease feeling in everyone's hearts.

First of all, did Rui Fei even know how to take care of a patient and if he didn't then what kind of state was their king in. Everyone thought it but no one dared to voice it out. They had just decided that after the fifteenth day they would burst in there and revoke his rights if Ji Yao isn't awake.

Unlike everyone else's misconception, Rui Fei was especially good at taking care of Ji Yao which included bathing him, feeding him medicine, exercising his joints to prevent them from freezing up and keeping him company. As to how he managed to know what to do, that's all thanks to his uncle's wise teachings.

The elder had put so much effort into educating his nephew on how to take care of his wife. It was because of this he could take care of Ji Yao for so long. The rest of the day like today he would lie next to Ji Yao and tell him stories. Sometimes they would be sad other times they would be happy ones.

Of course, Ji Yao wouldn't respond but that didn't matter. The first few days he tried to enter his dreams and find him but he was met by darkness. There was no sign of life whatsoever. It was as though Ji Yao's mind and soul had left his body. Each time he tried it and got this result he would break down.

It was his uncle who again explained to him that it would be like this for a while and that he shouldn't cry like Ji Yao was at death's door. If anything the grim reaper would probably flee the other way if he met Ji Yao. When the kid wore a serious face he would look terrifying despite having such heaven-defying beauty.

So Rui Fei stopped trying and settled on sleeping next to him while watching his side profile. Today though after finishing bathing both himself and Ji Yao he was so exhausted that he fell asleep. So what sort of bath was this tiring? Instead of a sponge bath, Rui Fei sat in the wooden tub with Ji Yao sitting in between his legs. Ji Yao's head leaned against his shoulder as Rui Fei carefully washed him.

Faced with Ji Yao's supple skin with scattered droplets of water caressing his body getting hard was inevitable. It had happened so many times in the past when he gave Ji Yao a sponge bath but now that they were in this posture with his love lying naked against his body he almost erupted.

He himself was dressed in thin innerwear which didn't help to suppress the thick bulge poking at Ji Yao's back as he washed. He could only endure and not think of anything else other than taking care of the patient.

Surprisingly he did manage to restrain himself from finishing off the bath without taking advantage of Ji Yao. Okay, that's a lie. He did brush his nose against the back of Ji Yao's neck sniffing his scent. At that time his eyes darkened brimming with obsession and lust.

If only Ji Yao was awake he would have done all sorts of things to him. It was because of this that he was so exhausted and directly fell asleep after settling Ji Yao on the bed and taking a bath himself. Sleeping like a log to mid-morning he didn't realise the person beside him moved a little.

Ji Yao had somehow gained consciousness but he was in a dream-like state. Maybe it was because his aether that had been dead cold gradually restarted and the flow of seraphic energy through his aetherial veins though subtle made him regain consciousness.

He found himself in a dark space standing all alone. His heart thumping hard against his chest he took a few strides over while scanning around vigilantly. He could feel a presence lingering in the darkness but he couldn't tell their exact intention.

Thinking the old lady from last time was going to come and speak to him he relaxed a little. But just as he relaxed his vigilance he heard familiar cries coming from a child. To be more specific, a boy.

This same dream had happened before. The boy was crying for help and when he felt his presence the boy shrouded in light stood up and called to him looking frightened.

That's when the old lady called that boy the enemy, a monster that ruined their clan. Yes, that boy was Rui Fei. Thinking he was having the same dream again he didn't hesitate to rush over and take him into his arms. As he took a step forward a sharp memory flashed in his mind causing his head to throb.

It was the moment when Rui Fei was flung away by the creature and lay unmoving on the ground. Suddenly recalling what happened Ji Yao began to panic. Scared out of his mind about what could have happened to Rui Fei he forced himself to endure the pain and took another step forward.

"No, he he has to be fine. Fei-er, stay there. I am coming for you," he said through gritted teeth as he took another step.. His throbbing head brought him to his knees and the agonizing pain he was going through was clearly written on his face but Ji Yao didn't give up.
