Dead silence descended upon the city in the valley with the only light coming from the beacon outside the garden on the tallest peak of the city. The dark sky was sparkling with countless stars painting a beautiful picture that could soothe one's heart.
But not even this therapeutic site could cure the anguish and intense sorrow tormenting this injured soul. After weeks of being confined in this space, Rui Fei was on the verge of losing his mind.
In the few weeks, Huishe Nan had to resort to drugging him to calm Rui Fei down but as soon as the effects wore off he would destroy everything around him and at times he would harm himself.
When he was in that state he would ask for one person but that person was in a different world and couldn't be presented to him even if Huishe Nan were to relent.
Thinking time and medication would soothe Rui Fei's outbursts as he hadn't gone through coupling with that Qilin neither did they form any sort of blood contract Huishe Nan comforted himself. But things only got so much worse to the point of self-harm.
Huishe Nan didn't have much interaction with Rui Fei but when that happened his heart shattered to pieces. Afraid he would lose his grandson just as he finally got him he decided to find a female with a high match so Rui Fei could move on from this.
At that time Huishe Yue had seriously opposed it because he knew what sort of attachment Rui Fei had towards Ji Yao. Even he would go as far as describing it as an incurable unhealthy attachment.
He explicitly explained to his father that this would be the worst decision and that they should find other solutions but the distraught grandfather didn't heed his words.
He sought out the most suitable match and after sifting through countless females he settled on the most outstanding female in their clan. She was beautiful with skin as smooth as jade and cherry lips that could prompt others to have impure thoughts.
She was tall and slender with a tender voice that made one's heart itch. Her name was Huishe Yingtao (not related by blood but by clan) with untainted Huishe blood that spun for thousands of generations. If anyone could soothe Rui Fei's outbursts she would be the perfect candidate.
Huishe Yingtao was a little terrified of the rumours but she was also willing. This was the only grandson of the clan leader, the only cub of the late Huishe Xieyue so why would she refuse?
At that time when she arrived at the clan leader's house Huishe Nan's wife had begged her to save her grandson as she helped her prepare. As they scrubbed her body clean and dressed her in a light robe the older female had explained to her about Rui Fei's significance and how much they would owe her.
When she walked down that hall with her garment sweeping the floor everyone knew what was about to happen except the other party involved in this matter.
Huishe Yingtao had initially done this as a sense of duty and prestige for her family but the moment she pushed that door open and saw that handsome boy lying on the bed his brows creased like he was having a nightmare her heart softened.
For the first time, her heart flattered after meeting someone. A spark lit up in her eyes as she knelt beside his bed watching him. Even she had to admit she was intrigued.
For the next hour, she quietly knelt beside him waiting for him to wake up. At the thought of what would happen after he woke up her face flushed as she straightened out her almost see-through dress.
But when Rui Fei opened his eyes all that anticipation and excitement blew away like a puff of smoke. Rui Fei had stared at her with cold soulless eyes before mumbling, "Get out," in a coarse voice as he had just woken up.
Her thinking at that time was that he was upset because a stranger had waltzed into his room and that she could coax him. Who in this clan didn't know the temper of Huishe males but with a little coquetry, they become clingy and needy plastering themselves to their females.
She was the most sought after female in this clan and sincerely believed no Huishe cub could resist her charm so she tried to smooth things over.
She slowly stood up as though leaving but instead, she walked towards a table at the other end of the room and brought over a tray with a bowl of medicine.
When she returned Rui Fei was sitting upright pinching the bridge of his nose as though having a terrible headache. She knelt in front of him once more and placed the tray on the ground before picking up the bowl to talk him into drinking it.
But before she could even lay a hand on him he said again, "Get out," this time much louder than before. He could smell a sweet fragrance coming from her body but his heart was repulsed. How could he not understand his grandparent's intentions by letting her in here?
Even if there was a female in Niuq that could soothe his outbursts he would never accept it. His love for Ji Yao superseded physical attraction and he wouldn't give anyone the opportunity to try and take his lover's place.
The graceful smile on Huishe Yingtao's face froze at that time as she retracted the bowl stiffly. She lowered her head with a hurt expression but she didn't leave. Everyone in this clan knew how weak females were and no matter how angry Rui Fei gets he would never hurt her or so she thought.
A flash of disgust swept through his eyes as he angrily said, "Still not leaving?" with a chilling smile on his face.
Huishe Yingtao was a little terrified at that moment that her body visibly quivered but she wasn't one to give up easily. The atmosphere in the room suddenly changed as a sinister hair raising aura pervaded the air. His seraphic energy laced with dark twisted energy spread through every inch of this place pressuring her so much that she shivered.
As she struggled to keep her composure her face was suddenly forced to tilt upwards by a powerful force that made it hard to resist. When she looked up her beautiful face resembled that of a wounded animal that had been bullied. This weak appearance might rouse hot-blooded young men to push her down and surrender to their savage instincts but it did nothing to Rui Fei, not even a ripple.
Under his command, his seraphic energy wrapped around her neck as he leaned forward with a devilish appearance. With an eerie smile on his face, he said, "I have no problem killing you so don't challenge my bottom line. Now. Get. Out."
As soon as he said this her body fell to the side as she struggled to breathe. She had never suffered such a grievance and wanted to cry but for now, she could only scurry out of the room. Because her body was weak she tripped a couple of times before stumbling out of the room. On her neck was evidence of what had just transpired. Even if they tried to conceal it the entire clan would soon know that the clan leader's grandson had assaulted their most precious female.
As she stepped out of that door loud crashing and smashing sounds immediately followed. Chairs, tables, chaise, you name it, it was flung everywhere as dark energy burst forth within his body.
Panicked the pair of Huishe father and son rushed over only for the door that had just been open now shut right in front of them with a loud bang. Rui Fei had shut himself in as he succumbed to his violent emotions. All he wanted was Ji Yao.... no one else but Ji Yao.
Recalling all these events from earlier, he sat on the bed with his back slouched dejectedly Rui Fei shook his head in disappointment. Sweeping back the stray strands hanging on his forehead he got up his destination unclear. As soon as he got up the door that was barricaded with broken furniture suddenly swung open with the debris scattering everywhere.
When he stepped out of the room he found that the entire hall was empty. It seemed after his uncontrollable outburst the entire hall was cleared with no soul in sight.
An imperceptible smile appeared on his face as he imagined his grandfather's reaction when that female ran out with strangulation marks on her delicate skin. This in itself served as a warning so that such a distasteful thing will not be repeated.
He was serious about Ji Yao and no one else no matter how beautiful could convince him otherwise.. From now on no one would send their daughters knocking at his door.
