Chapter 429 - Family Fight 2

"Not happening," repeated Ji Wen as he raked through his curly hair pushing it back.

Huishe Nan who hadn't had the privilege to deal with Ji Wen directly was now forced to engage with him and from the looks of it, he was very reluctant to speak to this half breed.

"You can't just say that and expect me to concede," replied Huishe Nan with a dark expression like an old headteacher after being disrespected by his student.

"I am Ji Yao's father and what I say goes. He is the future Pirate King and he will rule the seas after me so no.... he isn't going anywhere. Rui Fei can choose to go with you for all I care but my son stays here," said Ji Wen down rightly sensing Huishe Nan's dislike of him.

"My grandson also has responsibilities. He is an heir to my clan so don't mention responsibilities to me," replied Huishe Nan nearing the end of his patience.

Ji Wen glanced over in Huishe Yue's direction and said, "But you have him.... unless you are saying he is too weak to ascend as clan leader after you? Wow..... I knew that this elder was weak but I didn't think you as his father would also agree with me. No wonder he was trapped in that place for so long and had to rely on my son a half breed to get out of that fuckin place."

From his tone, one could tell there was something deeply hidden in his words and that something had to do with his identity as a half breed. For the past two days he had hosted these purebloods and among them were clan members from his mother's side.

At first, he thought they would take the initiative to approach him and want to learn more about who his mother was as she was part of the Raiju clan before the incident five decades ago. The expected meeting didn't happen though. Instead, he was met with distancing vibes like he wasn't at the same level as them.

It was as though his human side of the family was a scourge that tainted their bloodline making him very undesirable. That really pissed him off. Now that Huishe Nan was sort of giving him the same energy Ji Wen couldn't help but feel angry.

His son was a half breed with an aether so unique that despite his human lineage it housed two different seraphic energies from powerful clans.

But his part identity as a human might lead to him being discriminated against in a land filled with purebloods which would ultimately overshadow his greatness. With that said Ji Wen would be a dumbass if he lets them take his son.

Huishe Yue who had been poked in his sore spot warned, "Ji Wen, don't take things too far," with a taut expression. He didn't have any issues with Ji Wen and didn't want to fight with him but this man just had to go on and draw him into the conversation.

"Or what? What are you going to do if I take things too far? Are you going to drag my half-blooded ass on the table and show me how superior you fuckin are?" said Ji Wen with a condescending tone.

It was as though he was taking out all his annoyance and frustration on Huishe Yue. This was obviously some type of misguided anger and Huishe Yue should have recognized that but he wasn't a peace loving hippy. He was a Huishe, a clan known for their explosive tempers.

"The fuck! If it's a fight that you want then congratulations," said Huishe Yue as he got up from his seat.

Ji Wen who hadn't beat someone up in a long time got up and a burst of lightning broke through the window causing a massive explosion.

Ji Wen's body was suddenly surrounded by writhing sparks hissing fiercely while striking the surrounding furniture.

At the same time, Huishe Yue engaged his core challenging Ji Wen but before this fight could actually go down Huishe Nan grasped the back of his son's neck till his fingertips turned white. "Go outside and cool down," he said before shoving Huishe Yue to the side.

Huishe Yue who was itching for a fight just glared at Ji Wen as though saying watch your back while walking out. Ji Wen on the other hand didn't back out. He glared back with a look that could be interpreted as 'sleep with one eye open'.

After Qilin Hao's urging Ji Wen sat back down his vicious expression tucked away and replaced with a calm look like what happened just now had nothing to do with him.

Seeing that he had calmed down Qilin Hao continued with the discussion. "Just so you know your grandson is officially the only suitable heir as the ruler of Hyesong continent. And since he grew up in this world it means by default his responsibilities as emperor of Hyesong takes precedence."

"This is why mentioning responsibilities won't work. It did be best we let the pair decide for themselves. Our only job right now is to make sure we come to an agreement as an alliance and deal with the urgent matter at hand."

Huishe Nan who had been yet again schooled by the younger generation had nothing to say. He simply shrugged his mouth as he stared at his wife to get her opinion.

He was mostly doing this for her because she had lost her twins for five decades and only managed to get one of them back and a grandson she hadn't spent enough time with. But at this moment none of them could afford being selfish as they had already learnt from past mistakes. What was most important to him was that his grandson was happy.

While Huishe Nan was reminding himself of what is important Huishe Yue who was on the verge of exploding with nowhere else to vent out his anger walked out of the Pavilion only for him to be grabbed by the wrist into a dark corner.

Smelling that familiar scent he didn't struggle simply allowing himself to be pulled into the darkness. His back was suddenly slammed against the wall and Lan Wu peeked through the shadows checking if anyone was coming.

He hadn't had the opportunity to speak to Huishe Yue these past few days because where Huishe Nan and Huishe Shushi where Huishe Yue was forced to follow. He had been looking for this exact opportunity. That is why he pulled him into a dark corner like a creep in the night.

After making sure there was no one he turned his head to look at Huishe Yue with a radiant smile so visible in the dark.

He was about to open his mouth and say that line that he had rehearsed countless times before when the man's hand slid onto his cheek and lifted up his face.

Before he knew it a soft thing touched his lips in a light gentle peck as though testing the waters before diving in.

Lan Wu, "....."
