Chapter 58 - [Bonus ]Huishe Clan

For Ji Yao's attention, he would do anything. The only issue was that he couldn't understand why. He didn't bother figuring out the reason as he decided to live in the moment.

"Yao-ge, don't you want it back?" he asked with a throaty chuckle that made Ji Yao want to hit him again but he only had one pillow left and wasn't willing to sacrifice it.

"No," he replied as he covered his entire head with the quilt. If he knew what Ji Yao did after that he would have personally grabbed that pillow and threw it out of the window.

Rui Fei didn't have olfactophilia or anything like that but he especially loved Rui Fei's scent. It was for this reason that he sniffed that pillow with no reservations. Ji Yao's scent seemed to penetrate his aetherial veins soothing his agitated soul. An instant warmth enveloped his aether each time he smelt it cleansing that dark energy within his core.

What he didn't realise was that by doing so he was succumbing to his Huishe nature. This clan was known for its aggressive beast-like temperament which awakened at a certain age.

This aggressive side could only be soothed and kept at bay by the scent from their female partners. Yes, the women of the Huishe clan were far different from other Nocru women because of their weak constitution and couldn't go to war. But their male clan members were enough which meant they didn't need to fight.

Because Huishe men could lose their shit at any moment it was, for this reason, they married as soon as they awakened. As long as they found a female with a compatible scent and she is willing then they would unite as one. This is why this clan guarded their women and treated them like the most precious treasure in Niuq. They were the lifeline of the clan.

But that didn't mean the Huishe men could only marry from their clan. There were a few incidences where they found wives from other Nocru clans with a scent they liked which was permissible.

Based on the information above, Rui Fei was slowly awakening which is why he felt a little agitated. His father's genes had slowed down this process but it was slowly sneaking up on him. What he did when he burnt down Prince Rui's mansion was nothing compared to what he could do when he fully awakened.

Because he liked Ji Yao's scent he didn't know he was igniting fumes and by the time he realises what happened, it would be too late to remedy. It was like an addiction that was slowly sneaking up on him while he wasn't aware of it.

Unaware that he was being introduced to an addictive drug he hugged that pillow tightly as he slowly drifted to sleep. That night he didn't have any nightmares but dreamt himself with his head lying on Ji Yao's lap in a field of canola flowers. He didn't see Ji Yao's expression but his older brother didn't push him away or complain.

The two of them sat in silence in a tranquil atmosphere free of worry, free of pain. If only this serene air could last forever.

At the shoreline of Hyesong, a man adorned in a maroon attire from head to toe patiently stood under the dark starry night waiting for his subordinate. The weather was chilly but he didn't seem to feel anything despite standing there for hours.

His gaze slowly shifted to the sky when he felt familiar presence. Sure enough, he spotted a bird circling the sky before approaching him but before it touched the ground it suddenly transformed into a handsome man dressed in black.

The man fixed his fur coat as he gazed at Qilin Luse in his peripheral view. He grinned as he pulled out a pair of black gloves saying, "I have interesting news for you today..... Do you want to hear it?"

Qilin Luse didn't say anything staring at him with an unreadable expression. Hei Ying, the bird like half Nocru, humphed as he reprimanded his boss. "You are no fun... but I am certain that what I am about to say will change all that.... Our dearest pirate king just got himself one of the keystones," he said and as expected there were ripples in Qilin Luse's pitch black eyes.

This was unexpected especially when Ji Wen wasn't actively looking for the keystones like Prince Rui. He wasn't actively looking because he had no idea where to start, unlike Prince Rui who had a head start. How could a keystone fall onto his lap just like that?

"How did he get it?" asked Qilin Luse clenching his fist till his knuckles turned white. This was a big problem and her highness wouldn't be too pleased to hear that.

"It was Rui's brats when they were hunting down some weird jerk who supplied girls to that royal bastard.... So are you going to tell her?" he asked curious to know what he planned to do, "I can always steal it from him you know."

Qilin Luse shook his head and took a sharp turn as he strode away, "If you do he will know we are watching him."

Hei Ying furrowed his brow as he followed behind him asking, "So what do I do?"

"Keep watching him," replied Qilin Luse before bursting into flames and vanishing from the spot.

Hei Ying was stupefied as he watched the man disappear just like that. "Well, thanks for asking.... my day was pretty good," he mumbled to himself in a sarcastic tone.

No one ever asked the bird how their day was. It was always do this and do that. A lovely conversation exchanging pleasantries would be nice. He was tired of regular birds trying to chat him up.

No, he doesn't want to build a nest neither does he want to lay eggs with them! If he could suppress his seraphic energy in human form he would gladly transform once in a while.
