Chapter 73 - Rooster And The Hen

This situation was a perfect example of the hen getting kidnapped in the presence of the rooster. Rui Fei who was the rooster in this situation was busy eating vinegar over who was talking to who when Ji Yao the hen was swiped by his father.

He had just convinced himself a minute ago that he was the only unrelated person who Ji Yao was comfortable with only to be disappointed when he saw that hero saves the beauty act.

The two looked especially good together like a harmonious couple fresh out of the oven. He was already seeing them wearing the dragon phoenix gowns and mandarin ducks decorating the bridal chamber. And he as the pathetic little brother would be forced to smile and toast the happy couple.

He couldn't understand why he was so sour about this but he couldn't deny it. He was as sour as fuck and took it out on some random guy.

Granted the guy wasn't innocent but he got a much more painful ending than prescribed because Ji Yao was in a horrible mood. He could have just given the guy a painless ending but he prolonged the torture like a psychopath.

You can only imagine his reaction when he heard his sister screaming. With his foot on the masked man's chest, he turned to her direction as the bloodthirsty expression on his face vanished replaced by a look of worry.

His radiant skin had a spot of blood on his cheek complementing his striking lips and sharp eyebrows making him look like an enchanter sent by the gods to punish mankind.

He saw the frozen Rui Li pointing at the forest with her shaky finger. Rui Yewan looked equally frightened with a ghastly pale face drained of all its colour. He looked around only to find Ji Yao had vanished and Xunshi Zhe in hot pursuit.

A bad premonition swept past him making his blood run cold. He ended the masked man's torment before vanishing on the spot. When he found Ji Yao the man he hated the most in this world was walking towards him with a sword in his hand ready to slaughter him like a pig.

The sight of Ji Yao helplessly lying on the ground awaiting his fate angered Rui Fei so much that he even forgot to conceal his identity and release his original seraphic energy with no modifications.

A rush of seraphic energy circulated through his aetherial veins as a beast of what would be Huishe's true form at its peak appeared behind him like a majestic creature breaking out of its shackles.

One look at this monstrous creature and one could understand why these beasts were bound to clash with the Qilin clan.

Its serpent body coiling behind Rui Fei was long enough to encircle the entire island with grey scales that shimmered under the moonlight.

Because Rui Fei was half-human and not a purebred of the Huishe clan his true form would be considered the smallest among the clan but to this prince who had never been to Niuq it was a sight to behold.

Its eyes were as red as blood bearing its teeth demonstrating its intent to kill. Its face was like that of a dragon with elaborate silver-white patterns that acted like an identity marker.

Because Rui Fei had endured years of torment and the weaker half of his body inherited from Prince Rui he couldn't merge with his true form completely and could only bring it out in anger which was also taxing to his body.

This monstrosity was what Prince Rui wanted to possess and now that he had seen it in person his desire to attain Rui Fei's power shot off the roof. He stood up from the ground in an eerie chuckle as he wiped away the blood at the corner of his lips.

"Ah-Fei, is this how you treat your father after going through so many lengths just to bring you back home, huh?" he spoke in the most disgustingly gentle tone that made Rui Fei want to obliterate him on the spot.

Hearing this, Ji Yao slowly turned his head his heart in his throat. The fear gripping his body had prevented him from taking a look but now that he heard Prince Rui calling out Ah-Fei, his heart sank. When he faced Rui Fei he felt like he had been hit by a train and survived but his entire body was in anguish. He closed his eyes unwilling to face this reality.

He must be dreaming. How could that boy from the dungeon that brought him to his knees be Rui Fei? He knew Rui Fei would never harm him but the reality was that his body couldn't reprogram itself to accept that fact. He was scared stiff by that seraphic energy making it hard for him to move.

Seeing this Rui Fei felt a stabbing pain in his heart especially when he saw Ji Yao close his eyes refusing to look at him. He knew this would happen but he just didn't think it would happen this soon. He slightly lifted his hand but decided against it as he clenched his fist.

His eyes stung so he gulped down his over spilling emotions as he shifted his gaze to his father who was staring at him with the desire to take the beast's power and make it his own. His expression changed to a look of disdain and he flung his head sending a direct attack at Prince Rui.

The prince seemed pleased with this as a malicious grin spread across his face. He leapt into the air dodging that attack with ease as he stretched out his hand releasing five knives made out of latrion.

The knives were surrounded by a purple light turning them into Rui Fei seeking missiles. This meant they would follow his every move until they hit their target. Rui Fei struggled to shake them off but didn't forget to be a pain in the ass for his father.

In his haste retreat, he didn't forget to retaliate. The Huishe behind him bellowed as it unwound its body eyeing Prince Rui as though staring at a dead man.

Rui Fei made a hand signal instructing his other self to attack his father. The smile on Prince Rui's face froze as he summoned his sword. The aggressive Huishe attacked him head-on marking the beginning of a fierce battle.

Ji Yao struggled to get up but fell back down a couple of times. He was in so much pain that he almost felt like he was dying. Just as he fell back for the third time, Ji Yao couldn't help but give up.. His face fell to the ground as he clenched his fist.
