What he didn't realise was that he was drinking because of his father's absence and having to shoulder so much responsibility plus dealing with scary things he wasn't prepared for.
Huishe Yue found this amusing. He started to chortle as he said, "You two are taking turns to bite each other like bloodsuckers. If you don't know how to do it right I can give you a lesson. I am the coupling kin.... mmmm mmmm."
The last part wasn't heard because his mouth was sealed up. Rui Fei wasn't playing. If Ji Yao finds out he bit him because he was trying to do that with him he might get kicked in the nuts.
"Don't pay attention to him he.... he knocked his head hard in that hell hole. He is not right up here," explained Rui Fei feeling a little embarrassed.
Huishe Yue, "..."
"Mmmm mmmm mmmmm," were the muffled noises coming from Huishe Yue. He was scolding Rui Fei but none of these two could understand the language of the closed mouth.
Ji Yao took his wrist and led him to his cabin with a tinge of guilt on his face. This I bite you, you bite me wasn't cool. Who knew that he held such a big grudge that he bit Rui Fei while drunk.
The two sat opposite each other with Ji Yao busying himself looking for things in his storage as though trying to stall for time. In fact, he was stalling. He had no idea how to ask the question. He knew what Big Hei said wasn't everything. There had to be more.
Afraid to ask the question he took a while longer looking for the elixir but that was all a ruse. His storage was the neatest storage space in the world, Niuq included which meant he could find it with just a glance.
When he couldn't delay anymore he took out the elixir but after holding the bottle one could clearly see the trembling in his hands. Rui Fei couldn't watch anymore. At first, he was smiling happy that Ji Yao had found out but after seeing him like this his expression changed to that of worry.
He didn't know what to think at this moment. He just put his hand over Ji Yao's in comfort but Ji Yao jerked his hand back. Rui Fei felt a little hurt but he didn't force it. Ji Yao soon realized he had been misunderstood so he explained, "They are shaking."
There was a slight tilt at the corner of Rui Fei's lip as he responded, "Mn." Ji Yao steadied his hands and opened the bottle. As though it was a usual thing Rui Fei tilted the side of his neck and let Ji Yao put some ointment on it. A simple regular procedure had been sensualised by Rui Fei so much that the air turned mushy and pink.
Ji Yao was about to place his fingers on Rui Fei's skin when his wrist was captured. The warmth from Rui Fei's hand was especially nice. He was so absorbed in it that he forgot to ask why he was stopping him.
"Will it get rid of the scar?" asked Rui Fei with a lovely smile that could stir up anyone's heart.
"Huh?" asked a vexed Ji Yao who was listening more to the warmth on his wrist rather than the person's words.
"The scar, will it get rid of it..... because if it does I don't want it," said Rui Fei in a stern tone like he was mad serious.
Ji Yao gently pulled his hand away and asked, "What do you mean? You can't leave a nasty scar there. Everyone will see it."
"That's the point, right?"
Ji Yao, "....."
Ji Yao could feel that this boy was hinting at something but what was it? Sadly, he didn't have time to think about it because Red Bane the stallion of ships hit something so hard that it jerked the two of them forward. Rui Fei immediately took Ji Yao into his embrace shielding him from the bookshelf.
The bookshelf came tumbling down but Rui Fei swung his free hand changing the trajectory of the bookshelf. Ji Yao disregarded the fact that he was in Rui Fei's arms and asked, "Are you okay?"
Recalling the scene from the book Rui Fei couldn't help but smile. He hit his back when he hit the bookshelf but he was smiling through the pain. It was bearable and could be dealt with later because right now he had better things to focus on.
Since Rui Fei didn't respond, Ji Yao looked at him only to find the man wearing a stupid grin on his face sniffing his hair.
Ji Yao, "WTF!"
Yes, that was a real WTF moment but before he could even figure this out the door was pushed open and the ring leaders of the lie earlier showed up worried to death. Thinking they are coming to the rescue they found that scene.
What else could they do but cover their eyes? Big Hei was now especially afraid of witnessing things that shouldn't be seen so he turned his back on them. Seeing their odd behaviour Ji Yao pulled himself out of Rui Fei's arms and stood up. He picked up the bottle and tossed it to Rui Fei who was also standing up.
"Tell me what happened," he said before leading the way out of the cabin. He wanted to think through everything about him and Rui Fei but now he had a big problem. His father hadn't even gone for long yet he had crashed Red Bane.
Maybe it was his charting method that was wrong but here is the thing about Ji Yao, nothing passes by him. He is a perfectionist so this accident must have been intentional. They were nearing the port of Sheji which meant he could only think of one culprit.
It seemed the games had just begun and the man had played his first hand. Ji Yao had no time to assess the damage because the thing they hit struck the ship's hull shaking the ship once more.
Ji Yao held on to the rails as he cursed out loud. Whatever was in the water it was also affecting the other ships.. Something big was underwater and it was coming for them.
