If Rui Fei was a Gen Z type of teenager he would have spent half the night searching on Baidu or Google 'How to dress my crush's wound?', 'Is it okay to undress my crush to treat his wound' or 'am I a pervert for undressing my crush to treat their wound.'
His browser history would be full of this kind of nonsense if he had the time and the means but because he didn't have that he had to do what he had to. He reached over and unfastened the belt on Ji Yao's clothes. His face was serious like he was performing brain surgery but in truth, his heart was racing like a bullet train.
His hands were trembling slightly as he pulled apart the lapel of both the outer and inner robe. Ji Yao's smooth chest was immediately exposed making Rui Fei gulp with his eyes curiously glancing over his undulating chest. Oh, how he wished this wasn't an emergency situation.
He pulled the clothes apart even more and exposed the bloodstained gash on Ji Yao's abdomen. Using the things in the storage ring he cleaned the wound only to expose a laceration more than half an inch long and it looked deep. This was the type of injury that would require a visit to the ER but of course, there wasn't an ER in this era. After wiping it clean, he gently applied the elixir all over the wound making sure it was absorbed thoroughly through the skin.
Ji Yao moved slightly as Rui Fei worked but he didn't open his eyes. It was as though he was letting him do as he wanted. The look of worry on Rui Fei's face finally relaxed as he saw the wound visibly close. Excited he placed his hand on Ji Yao's cheek and said, "You really had me worried for a second there..... don't scare me like that again." Ji Yao still didn't open his eyes but he slowly placed his hand over Rui Fei's with his head leaning into the Huishe cub's palm for support.
If only we could open up Rui Fei's tummy a kaleidoscope of butterflies would fly out. He truly wished Ji Yao would be like this to him when he was awake. Based on previous experience this gentle affectionate side of Ji Yao only came out when he was either drunk, sleeping or passed out and more than half the time he wouldn't have any recollection of what transpired.
Just when he thought things wouldn't get any better than this Ji Yao kissed his palm so tenderly that Rui Fei's hand caught fire. He couldn't help but think Ji Yao had brushed against his palm by mistake. But he clearly saw him turn his head slightly and kiss his hand. That wasn't an accident. It was intentional, well, passed out intentional but still.
The tiny hole fell into silence as Ji Yao stopped moving. The sounds of the sand battering against the mountain amplified but Rui Fei couldn't hear any of it. His entire body felt numb as he stared at his hand that was still pressed against Ji Yao's cheek. He didn't know what to think neither did he know what to say.
It was at this moment that he made up his mind. If Ji Yao refuses to be in a relationship with him when he asks him then he won't let him go till he agrees. A person just doesn't jump you when they are drunk and claim sovereignty over you if there weren't any feelings there. They wouldn't kiss your hand when they pass out, right? Well, unless if they thought you were someone else?
Rui Fei wanted to ask him if he knew who he was but he bit his lower lip and restrained himself. Ji Yao really needed the rest right now. Rui Fei looked down at the open chest and decided to do the responsible adult thing and close it up but boy it was really hard not to look.
Rui Fei was like a shirtless model in a fashion magazine that a fan could only look but never get to touch the real person. At least they can settle to touch the magazine. It's a shame Rui Fei didn't even have a magazine to touch.
He braised himself chanting, "I am not a pervert, I am not a pervert..... I am absolutely not... a pervert." As soon as he fastened the robe he finally released his caught breath. Only a few know how hard that was. He wanted to change Ji Yao out of those bloody clothes but the space wouldn't allow it.
He leaned back into the wall gazing at the sleeping Ji Yao with a dazed expression. He could at least rest easy knowing that Ji Yao was going to be okay. Rui Fei had even forgotten about his uncle whom he had ditched without a second thought.
And who could blame him? There is a saying that wifey comes first, right? And here is another one, 'happy wife, happy life' and he vowed to abide by that. Sorry, uncle Yue.
While Rui Fei was busy making husband vows to himself, Uncle Yue was having the fight of his life. His nephew had left him behind which was understandable but it hurt. It hurt a little.
But this was an opportunity to vent out all that anger he had pent up. He had to pay back this demon for making him believe his sweet Wei Wei would actually run away with a loser from the stupid lizard clan. Well, he calls them lizard clan but they aren't. Okay fine, it's a clan called Da Xiyi which translates to great lizard but still, I mean they aren't actually lizards.
Granted they had just been married when he vanished but the Nocru lived a long time and he would be back home so how would she run away with a lizard? He knew his father wouldn't allow that. So why would this giant pig with wings choose to screw with him that way?
He spend a good minute beating the shit out of the only tree in this godforsaken place because he thought it was the lizard person. Here is the thing, Huishe men can't find another spouse because of that bond during the coupling but the highly protected women don't have the same hold as the men do.
They aren't like omegas who depend on their alphas because of the gland and pheromones etc. They can easily move on more than the males of the clan. But the Huishe clan never had a problem with morality and ethics so it didn't really matter.
