Chapter 155 - My Business Is His Business

In a well-lit brig within Red Bane, a man with a bloodied face was sitting on the floor with his arms casually lying on his bent knees. His hair was scattered covering his ashen pale face. His eyes were closed but the sinister air around him was unmistakable.

If it weren't for the latrion chains bounding him he would have torn this ship apart. If he had known Qilin Hao's son would be smarter than her he would have taken greater precautions.

Qilin Hao was a hot head half the time and didn't normally have a strategy when they fought so he assumed Ji Yao was the same since he was a product of the same cloth but boy was he wrong.

The two couldn't be any different. Qilin Hao was ruled by emotions and often behaved impulsively if you push the right button. But no matter how he tried to push Ji Yao's buttons the kid remained rational even when he tried to make fun of Ji Yao's boyfriend.

In his eyes, Ji Yao was like a cold emotionless robot with no care in the world. It's even a miracle he had someone who liked him.. The kid even managed to fool him while he regained the feeling in his body so he could grab that creature. If he knew that creature would be the end of him he would have killed it a long time ago.

As he wallowed in his defeat, the main door at the end of the passage was pushed open. The creaking sound was especially amplified but he didn't lift his head. It was as though he hadn't heard anything.

The sound of heavy boots echoed in the empty space before stopping in front of him. He didn't open his eyes but he could tell who it was. Better yet he could tell who they were from their seraphic energy alone.

Ji Yao stood tall placing his hands behind his back while Rui Fei set on the only available seat watching Qilin Kai.

"Isn't it a little too comfortable for a brig?" asked Qilin Kai without raising his head. Ji Yao couldn't refute that. His father was very considerate of his preferences and made sure Red Bane was spic and span in every aspect. Even the prison cell looked like a spa for the wealthy with plenty of luxurious space.

He walked forward stopping a few feet by the bars and held up the keystone he found around Qilin Kai's neck. The keystone shimmered under the flickering light as it gently oscillated dangling on the string.

"Like I said earlier I have no issue with you neither do I care about your grudge with Qilin Hao. All I wanted was this and I would have left you alone," he said before putting the keystone away.

"Then why don't you? You got what you wanted so let me go," replied Qilin Kai with a grim smile on his face.

Rui Fei couldn't help but chuckle. If it weren't for Ji Yao, Qilin Kai would have slept forever. Qilin Kai had died several times in his head already. Each time he saw that fading handprint on Ji Yao's neck he felt like shredding this man to pieces till he resembled shredded pork.

He subconsciously grasped Ji Yao's finger as he said, "That's not going to happen, you might as well get comfortable." As he said this he began to rub Ji Yao's finger while looking straight ahead seeming as natural as possible.

Ji Yao flinched a little when Rui Fei touched him but after a little getting used to he didn't object immediately. He looked straight ahead with a stern unapproachable face that could deter the faint of heart.

But soon he couldn't take it anymore. Rui Fei was the kind of person who given an inch would undoubtedly take a mile. Even in a serious life and death situation, he wouldn't forget to take advantage of him eating some tofu.

Ji Yao pulled his hand away as he moved a little forward freeing himself from Rui Fei's clutches. Rui Fei was about to voice his grievances when Qilin Kai spoke, "You are such a busy body just like your uncle. Do you think I would have given a shit about him if he hadn't interfered with my business? It would do you some good if you stay the fuck out of other people's business."

These words weren't said in a hurried tone. It sounded more like a genuine lecture with a hint of sarcasm. Rui Fei's eyes narrowed wondering what sort of history these two had.

The way Huishe Yue was locked up by Qilin Kai seemed rather personal. There had to be more than just bumping into each other in the forest after the worlds merged then getting locked up for fifty years for no reason.

If Qilin Kai hated Huishe so much why didn't he just kill Huishe Yue? Why did he go through all that trouble of imprisoning him rather than killing him which is the easiest option for Qilin Kai?

"My business is his business," replied Ji Yao as serious as a heart attack. The seriousness of his tone was evenly matched with his face. He wasn't playing around.

This Qilin Kai couldn't handle with a straight face. He let out scornful laughter with a slight shake in his shoulders. The sound of the chains clanking filled the room but it abruptly died down when a loud shing sound from a sword echoed in the air.

The tip of the sword rested on Qilin Kai's forehead shimmering under the light as though begging for permission to kill him. Because this sword was made by Qilin Hao the animosity for Qilin Kai was engraved in it which meant it was more excited to kill Qilin Kai than to kill the Hundun.

Well, it also did kill the Hundun but the level of satisfaction wouldn't be as great as killing Qilin Kai.

Being threatened like this Qilin Kai was livid. He stared angrily at Ji Yao and said, "Do you think you would go far with whatever it is that is going on between you two, huh?... Take it from me you were born to be enemies.... when your clans get involved in your business you two won't even be able to see each other eye to eye. This here is a delusion and that which I said is reality. Your fuckin clan comes first."

To be frank he said so many words but none of these two were listening. Or they did listen but didn't care about clans and families with good reason.

None of them were raised as part of a clan with both of them abandoned by one parent or two so they could give a rat's arse about listening to their clan let alone letting them get involved in their business.

Rui Fei leaned forward with his palms pressed together and his fingers touching his lips. "I grew up in a fuckin dungeon and watched my siblings die one by one, where was the clan then? In Niuq, right?... Then the Huishe clan can interfere in Niuq's business and stay out of mine," he said seeming very annoyed by Qilin Kai words.
