Mina couldn't help but feel different emotions while watching everything that happened to her on the screen. It felt too surreal. Kino made some remarks here and there but nobody paid attention to the monkey which eventually made him shut up.
It wasn't until Mina saw the scene where she was transported to the cold place that she felt uncomfortable.
'That place looks are eerie on a screen as it did in person.'
With her eyes fixed on the screen, she saw a man head towards her.
'I remember this! That guy, he saved me!'
The man's image was hard to recognize from her memory projection. She was dazed then and what she saw seems to be too foggy for anyone to recognize the man. Mina couldn't help but glance at Devin whose eyes were fixed on the screen.
Mina waited for Devin to say something. It was actually Kino who jumped and pointed on the screen.
"Wait that ...that man! This scene, it looks like you were trapped in a human body. Your field of vision is the same as a human!"
"What do you mean by that?" Mina asked in shock.
There's a change from this to this.
Is that an actual person trapped inside the glass? How could that happen?
Mina looked at Devin and Kino did the same. The man had his hands on his chin, mulling over something before speaking.
"I don't know whose body that is but that man there... I know him, that's Jadon."
"And the other one?" Mina quickly asked while pointing at the man beside the general.
"Is that...Barca's father?" Devin replied with reluctance. Mina couldn't help but doubt Devin's words.
'Barca's father?' Unable to conceal her surprise, she asked out loud, "That man is his father?"
"You're in charge of that place yet you're not sure!" Kino chimed in, clearly looking down on Devin.
"That man appears a bit different. He was the most obedient creature in that plane. He is so squeamish, how could he leave a body lying around the hall," Devin remarked absentmindedly with his gaze fixed on the man who appeared on the screen.
"Did the old man agree to this?"
The question was clearly rhetorical and Devin looked as if he blurted the words while trying to make sense of everything in his mind. Mina couldn't help but give him a reply, even if it was uncalled for.
"I don't think so. As you can see, grandpa doesn't live there anymore." Mina paused and studied Devin whose eyes were still fixed on the screen. "So many things changed since you left," she added in an accusative tone.
No one spoke for a while as all three focused on the screen until the images stopped.
Devin had a grim expression as he stared at the now blank screen.
"How could all of that happen? There are a lot of Network people there - the old man, Jadon, Serket, the dumb follower, how could they let things go out of hand?"
"Why are you asking me? I'm not even one of your Network people!" Mina couldn't help but burst in anger.

'I don't even belong there and you are dragging me to this whole mess!!!'
Mina felt so wronged and annoyed. Just as she was in the middle of rolling her eyes, Devin looked at her. Scared of the way he looked at her, she couldn't help but roll her eyes in the opposite direction as if wanting to rewind what just happened. Pressured, Mina couldn't help but blurt something out to ease the atmosphere.
"Eye Exercise."
Devin seems to have realized something because of her outburst and he slowly tilted his head towards Kino, who was sucking his thumb while trying to dodge Devin's gaze.
"What will happen now?" Mina asked.
"They better handle the situation right," Devin replied.
"To me!" Mina clarified.
'It's not like their problems are any of my business. What would I even get out of that?'
Kino finally spoke up after remaining silent for a long time.
"We have to know first why you're here."
"Can't you just go back to the real world and check?" The words seem to have come out of Mina's mouth but as soon as she spoke she wanted to take all the words back.
'What if I make him angrier? Bad Mouth!'
"I can't."
Mina couldn't control her annoyance when she heard those two words.
"You can't? Why not? Isn't that your job."
Kino gave Devin a sympathetic look as if he knew what happened. Ever since she was catapulted to this new world, her emotions were all over the place. She has always been a reasonable person but after she became a cat, it was as if she developed another personality. Like she was a princess and everyone had to do her bidding and she was fully aware of it.
"I'm not allowed to leave the Network."
"Why not?"
Mina's thoughts were all jumbled up as she questioned Devin's answer. From his tone, there was nothing that could change his mind.
'Isn't this Devin fellow too selfish? People were waiting for him but here he was refusing to do his part. If this was not selfishness she didn't know what is.'
"I'm getting married," Devin hissed and gave Kino a meaningful look.
Mina was astounded.
'Shouldn't he be happy if he's getting married?' Still rolling her eyes, Mina went on to question him. "Couldn't you do both?"
"No," Devin replied immediately before adding. "You don't wanna know the details believe me."
"What will happen then?" Mina looked from Devin to Kino before adding "to me?"
"Right now, I can't look into your matter," he explained apologetically
Mina felt relieved. I don't want to go back there anyway!
"We have to look into your lost memories. It could help us figure out why you're here."
Mina gulped.
'What if my fate becomes even worse if I recover my memories?'
"If you turn out to be a special soul you might have to report to someone in the Network," Devin continued.
'No! I can't agree! What if I turn out to be a criminal!'
Mina was about to protest when Devin continued.
"But..."
She couldn't help but look up in anticipation as if prompting him to continue.
"...since my hands are tied, I have a favor to ask."
Mina's eye sparkled. This was the opportunity she was looking for.
"If I agree what do I get in return?"
"In return, I will grant you a favor."
Devin did not allow Mina to say anything as he continued to speak in an enticing voice.
"It could be any favor as long as it does not violate any laws in the Network."
"Deal."
Mina extended her hand towards Devin with enthusiasm. When their hands touched Mina felt something burning on her arm but the pain disappeared a few seconds later.
'What was that?'
"Devious Devin! You always know how to take advantage of the situation," Kino mumbled.
Before Mina could reply to the monkey's remarks, Devin gives her a pat on the back.
"Mina, Welcome to the Network!"
"From this moment forward, you will be my new underling."
