Upon hearing that Archangel Raziel was interested in his pet, Wil took a step back in a surprise.
"Lord Raziel, may I know the reason?"
A frown appeared on Gerrad, "Don't you know who he is? Do you think just because you are a Noble and a guest, you can question him? Let me remind you that even the King rarely questions Lord Raziel's decisions."
Upon hearing this noble hater's reply, Wil immediately dropped his politeness and replied indifferently, "Strix isn't a property of the Kingdom. It's mine. Even the King has to answer my question for me to bring it out."
"You…"
Stroking his beard, Raziel interrupted, "pride of an immortal. It's not that I mind it. Anyway, I'm heading to the hidden realm. I heard that you scouted the realm through your pet. I just want to confirm a few things."
Wil nodded, "fine."
As he summoned Strix, it immediately buzzed around his ear as a way of asking what his order is.
Wil pointed Raziel and said, "He wants to talk to you."
As Strix looked at him curiously, Raziel's eyes turned to gold in color, and observed the yellow furred palm-sized bee very intently for half a minute before retracting his gaze away from it, "okay, you can send him back."
Wil nodded and gave a pat on Strix before sending it back to pet inventory.
While Gerrad is in awe, Raziel asked, "Do you know what I just did?"
Wil replied, "Eyes of God, eyes that can see everything. You probably want to confirm whether my scouting report is right or not."
"There's indeed something special about you that I can't see through. I don't know how you know that name but anyway, I just want to see whether it managed to take a glimpse at the deep abyss.
Too bad, it didn't go near to it. On the other hand, that thing in the desert is indeed interesting."
Lord Raziel directly didn't mention the word Ruins that weren't mentioned in the report but Wil was sure that the interesting thing was indeed the Ruins. Still, he stayed silent as if he doesn't know what Lord Raziel is talking about.
As the matter is over, Lord Raziel summoned a soldier and said to him, "Take our guest to the Royal guest rooms." Then he turned to Wil, "Viscount Time Traveler, he'll show your new room. Consider it as compensation."
"I bet it will be a special room with buffs."
Wil bowed, "thank you, Lord Raziel."
After exiting the room, the soldier took him further deep inside the palace on the 2nd floor, and respectfully said as he opened the door for him, "Lord Viscount, we are here."
As soon as he stepped inside the large room, Wil smelled a nice aroma followed by a notification.
*Ding. You entered a no-combat area. Your abilities are restricted.
*Ding. You entered the Royal guest room. You receive 100 Exp every second.
"Cool. 100 Exp per second. 10 times more than what VIP rooms in a standard inn offer."
After a while, two maids entered the chamber with drinks to serve him but Wil rejected the service as he is someone who can't handle alcohol even if he reduced the effect to 10%.
It isn't important that he can't handle alcohol. The problem is that he'll turn into a street fighter after that and won't even remember the things he'll do by the time he wakes up. It's the reason why he developed the habit of eating ice cream, which reduced his feelings of wanting to drink.
Sending them away, Wil continued to lie on the bed and browsing the forums while enjoying the free exp.
Six hours later,
*Ding. You leveled up to 150.
Wil smiled as he recovered his lost exp just by lying on the bed, "I really love free exp.
Hmm, it's almost 3:30. Should I leave or stay until Raziel returns? After all, I need more than 9 million exp to level up now. I would need to lie all day to level up.
Nah, let's just continue to lie. Why waste free exp… It's not like I have some important things to do."
After lying on the bed for so long, Wil slowly drifted into sleep.
Meanwhile, the entire Capital city was in chaos as General Gerrad was leading the 1st squad of Royal Legion, a hundred member army to outside the city followed by Archangel Raziel, who was able to fly inside the city, even though it was restricted.
The guilds went into a heavy discussion as they believed this must be an event but since there isn't any announcement from the system, the large guilds only deployed messengers to follow them from far while small guilds sent teams and as usual, normal players who were curious all followed them since they weren't being warned.
Nine hours later,
Wil woke up and stretched his body, "what a good sleep. Let's see how much of the exp bar is filled"
EXP: 3,251,025/9,060,000
"One-third, huh. I can earn more experience by clearing level-100 Dungeons in this period though. Still, I prefer this one since I don't need to do anything. Ugh… there are no televisions here. I can't read anything but forum from the game. I'm suddenly feeling bored...
Just then, his door opened on its own lightly and closed in a fraction of second without any sound.
*Ding. Someone entered the room without permission.
Because it's a no combat room, where all mana is restricted, Wil knew that he wouldn't receive damage even if someone attacks him. So, he confidently called out loudly.
"Who is it? I know you just snuck in here. Come out or else..."
"Shhh…" A person in a hood and robes appeared stood before his bed.
Wil immediately stepped down from the bed and quickly moved the curtain on the window as the room was filled with darkness.
As the Moonlight entered the room and filled with dim light, the person before him removed the hood and revealed a familiar face.
Looking at the woman before him, Wil was stunned on the spot and pinched himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"Your Majesty?"
It was none other than Mirella, the current King of the Llyne kingdom. If it wasn't for the presence of blood on her face, Wil would have thought she came to visit him.
"What's going on? How come…"
"Shh…" Mirella put a finger on her lips and then whispered, "Don't misunderstand Time Traveler, I'm…"
Just then, someone knocked on the door twice.
*Ding. A soldier wishes to enter the room.
Mirella quickly put on the hood again and quickly hid in the wardrobe.
With confusion on his face, Wil opened the door and saw there a couple of soldiers outside of his room.
"What is it?" enquired Wil.
A soldier replied, "Sorry for the disturbance but there's an intruder in the palace, Lord Viscount.
A general and his two subordinates were killed. Lock the doors tightly and be careful.
If you spot him, please don't engage and focus on running. Don't forget to shout for help if needed."
Wil nodded and yawned as if he was in sleep, "I'm an immortal. Why would I fear death? But, anyway, thanks for the reminder."
Realizing the point, the soldier apologized once again and went away.
After sending them away, as Wil closed the door and locked it from inside, Mirella stepped out.
"Thanks."
*Ding. Your favorability with King Mirella raised by 10
A smile appeared on Wil as he replied, "no problem, your majesty. If you don't mind me asking…"
Mirella interrupted, "whether I was the intruder or not, right? Yeah, I killed those traitors. Who knew I would be spotted after killing him. Sigh…"
Then, she looked into his eyes and asked, "It's a long story. Do you have time to listen?"
