Chapter 96: WBT: Taking the first spot

Name:War Online Author:Snowstar
Just as Supreme Master guessed, Wisdom Queen indeed went offline as she was too tired mentally and receiving a continuous warning from the capsule.

But, what he doesn't know is that even Starlight, Guide, Guitarist, and Bummer went offline before the system announcement while thinking that everything is over and they can sleep finally after 3 days.

Ares City;

At a certain apartment in the city of Ares, Wisdom Queen alias Kim Soojin was sleeping soundly in the capsule while the capsule keeps on sending automated voice message alerts every couple of seconds.

"User Wisdom Queen. Someone is trying to call you."

"User Wisdom Queen. Someone is trying to call you."

"User Wisdom Queen. Someone is trying to call you."

While her guildmates and real-life friends are busy calling her after seeing her rank dropped in the list and she's offline for five hours, the person in question, Wisdom Queen continued to sleep soundly.

Half an hour later, as she suddenly woke up because of one of the voice message alerts of the capsule, she finally picked up the call in a half-sleep state.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Soojin-unnie, it's me, Harin."

"Harin, let's talk later. Okay?"

"Unnie, it's serious. Do you know what's happening here in the game? Your rank dropped to 6th."

"What…" Wisdom Queen suddenly woke up, "what are you saying?"

After hearing out the entire matter, she immediately sighed in relief, "thank goodness. You woke me up at right time."

Disconnecting the call, she tried logging into the game in a hurry.

Just then, an automated voice from the capsule replied, "the memory chip hasn't been cooled-off yet. Please wait another 3 hours."

"F***" Wisdom Queen cursed out in frustration...

When buying the capsule, they clearly stated the rules on a guide that came with it. Forgetting about that, there's even an AI installed in every capsule that asks a user whether they need any introduction regarding the capsule when one enters for the first time.

Once the memory chip heated up, the capsule will send warnings to the players who will start to face tremendous mental pressure as they continue to play long hours.

Once they log out, the capsule will go into a cooling state where it usually needs at least 8 hours to log in again.

And once again, this is where the type of capsule plays a role. Higher the grade, the more it can handle the process.

Just like Wisdom Queen, a lot of players who played for 3 days non-stop to the limit and logged out were busy cursing while losing their sleep and the opportunity to go to the top 128.

As for people like Wil, who took sufficient rest and are in a stable state were enjoying the moment of less competition.

*Ding. You challenged SupremeMaster. Your match will start in 5 seconds.

As the defender wins even if it's a draw and moreover, his mana and all skills' Cooldown will be reset for every match, Supreme Master just activated the energy barrier with confidence.

"With my defense increasing by 50%, unless he can do 5 million of damage, no one can stop me from making it a draw. If Time Traveler can make it, he wouldn't propose draw last time."

Looking at his confident look, Wil mumbled, "looks like he's too confident because of our last match. Poor guy…"

Wil then walked towards the barrier while mumbling, "Spirit of Zenon, activate."

Suddenly, something entered his body and he was covered by a white aura as his stats increased by 50%.

After getting into the range, Wil gathered his hands near his mouth and unleashed, "Dragon Fire."

The fire that was coming from Wil's mouth hit the barrier.

"What…"

A shocked expression appeared on Supreme Master, who was currently crouching near the weapon to maintain the barrier as a part of the fire bypassed the barrier and started burning him.

"-6,738,268"

As a critical hit activated, a high damage number appeared on his head and before he knows what's going on, Supreme Master turned into ash and reappeared in familiar white space with a dazed expression.

His voice started to shake as he mumbled, "6 million… That means, his overall damage is 11… 11 million? What a monster."

Meanwhile, on the outside, while a part of the audience here and there is cheering and is complaining to play it on the big screen, the eldest sister sighed, "That fire once again appeared. How strong is it that it can bypass barrier and kill the enemy in one hit…"

After Wil rose to the first spot, he defeated the remaining challengers easily with Absolute freeze and poison arrows combination every time and thus, securing the spot in the top 128.

At 0:00 hours, the system sent a world-wide notification.

*Ding. Final Rankings are updated.

Only then, Wil opened other group rankings to see who might become his competition.

"Hmm, as expected, "One" won in his group. Magi, Supreme Conqueror, Devil, Wishing Hero… All of them made it. Where is Crimson Sun? I can't see his name… Did he even make it?"

After searching for a while, Wil finally found his name on the top of group 115.

"Bran indeed made it. Obviously... Hmm, I wonder whether Magi found the tomb and changed to Elementalist. Who knows… Forgetting an extra, there are only three spots left for Elementalist. That means two are already out of the race because of me."

The World Battle Tournament preliminaries that started with extreme enthusiasm was finally over with several sighs and regrets from all over the world as many top players missed out an opportunity to challenge the top and go into the next round. All because of impatience to log out and rest.

AFter finding it out, all the ones who missed it have a single thought, "If only they have waited just 2 minutes… sigh…"

While several people didn't get to sleep that day, On the other hand, Wil happily slept on his comfy bed as usual.

But, who could have expected, even his sleep will be disturbed.

Two hours into his sleep, suddenly, his door was knocked continuously…

*Knock* Knock* Knock* Knock*

"Hmm, who is it, at this hour…"

As Wil woke up and walked into the hall towards the door, he suddenly stopped and mumbled with a frown, "that's right. Who might be at this hour?"

Without opening the door, he asked, "who is it?"

But, there was no response from the other side.

Wil was taken aback because of the lack of response. Still, he asked the same question.

After getting the same response, Wil scurried into his bedroom and took out his mobile phone.

As he opened the contacts, the first person he thought is Aster and immediately called to him.

"Hello, young master?"

It was a tired voice that answered his call.

"Aster, somebody is at the front of my door. I asked who they are but received no answer. Quickly send a team to check, now."

"I'll quickly call security to check on you, young master. You don't open the door no matter what. Just stay indoors."

*Knock* Knock* Knock*

The door was knocked again and his mobile phone vibrated.

*buzz* buzz*

As he opened a text from an unknown number, he read…

XXXX: Open the door.

Wil started sweating all of a sudden, "who might be that know my mobile phone number and has the guts to intrude my building. Last time, it turned out to be a prank. What now? Better to stay silent."

For the next 15 minutes, the house stayed silent.

Looking at the situation, Wil mumbled, "Maybe, he ran away?" Just then, *Knock* Knock*

The door was knocked twice but this time, a familiar voice followed with it, "Young master, it's Aster. You can open the door."

Wil went near to the door and then asked, "If you are Aster, answer me. What is the area of Scarlet District and who is my head manager."

Immediately an answer came, "its 53000 sq.m and NPC elf named Melina is the head manager. She even has a salary of 50 gold per week."

"phew," Wil wiped his sweat after confirming Aster's identity and opened the door.

As soon as he opened the door, Wil was stunned to see the most unlikely person beside Aster that had a smile as he commented, "you did great."

Wil's voice quivered in a surprise, "D... Dad?"
