Wil: Ms. Kiyumi, we need to talk.
*Buzz*
His mobile phone vibrated before even ten seconds passed and saw the mobile number of Kiyumi on his phone as a call arrived.
"Hello…"
"Hello, Mr. Ravens. Just now, I was thinking to call you, and luckily, you sent the message at a perfect time. So, what do you want to talk about? perhaps, you decided to accept our dinner invitation?" asked Kiyumi from another side with hope.
"No, that's..." Before he finished, she continued with, "or perhaps you want to talk to Akiko once before we meet, right? She's here with me. Just a second, I'll..."
"No, I didn't call you for that," Wil quickly interrupted her before she goes from date to the marriage, and then, asked in a serious tone, "A while ago, Mr. Walter was here. Tell me; what did you threaten him with… Did you forget my conditions?"
"So, that means your engagement with Miss Rodin has been annulled? That's great. I need to tell mom and Akiko, too…"
"Miss Kiyumi, I asked a question here." Wil spoke a bit loudly, making her flinch a bit as she came to her senses, "Ah, it's nothing. We found out that Miss Cericia has a boyfriend. It seems she's been in a relationship for over a year. Mom just convinced Mr. Rodin over it. There was no threatening involved in it."
"Ah, is that so?"
Upon hearing a kind of positive response, Kiyumi then asked again, "now that you are no longer engaged to anyone, I guess you don't have any problem with attending a dinner date in the evening, right?"
"I'm busy today and tomorrow with a quest. Then, I have meetings with some important people. We can meet for lunch after I sort my things over here and shift to Leafway city. Okay, I need to leave. See ya…" Wil quickly disconnected the call as his muscles twitched in annoyance.
"Okay, fine." Even though Kiyumi was disappointed as she realized he indirectly implied that a quest is more important than her sister, she quickly recovered her mood, "doesn't matter, right now. At least, right now, there are no problems between them that can stop the marriage. Not to mention, he invited us for lunch on his own. That's a positive sign."
Meanwhile, after disconnecting the call, Wil returned to the game and left to the sea on his fire Pegasus with a speed of 2.5 mach, surpassing the limits of the speed that a player can take. And as a result, Wil received a debuff along with a notification from the system while he was on his way.
*Ding. Warning: The player's speed crossed 2 mach. To protect your eyes from the heavy winds, until the speed reduces to 1 mach, you will be experiencing temporary blindness…
As Wil's vision went black, he just closed his eyes and tried to meditate while ears also stopped functioning as the sound of the waves or roaring of the aqua beasts can't reach his ears.
Meanwhile, Wil was slowly trying to go back into the past to look into his memories after burying those horrible ones for so long…
Soon, a forgotten memory appeared in his mind.
*Flashback*
Bulls Arena, Yarlford City;
In an empty arena, an eleven-year-old Wil was standing alone, with his legs shaking in fear as his world-class instructor raised one of the gates and released a matured bull, which is at least, two meters big and three meters long.
Looking at the boy, as it started running towards him, she shouted through the mic, "C'mon, Wil. Don't stand there if you want to live."
As the bull almost approached him, Wil jumped to the side, dodging it at the right time before running away.
"Wil, don't think about running from a superior enemy cuz they will catch up to you, eventually. Think of a method to tackle them using their weakness. In this case, there's a large red cloth, right before you, all along. You should have used it wisely.
Remember that you can't depend on anyone but yourself. That's why, at the very least, you need survival skills if you want to stay alive for a long time…" Vulture's Devil instructor continued to lecture Wil as he was crying while he peed his pants in fear.
Meanwhile, the bull was lying down on the ground lifelessly with more than twenty poisoned arrows pierced into its hard skin, especially the legs and eyes.
Present;
"F**k. Of all the memories, I had to remember this one... No, let's not dig them out. Ugh… I think it's a bad idea to think of them. Those memories contain nothing but child abuse… Let's think of something else… Something good this time…"
Right then, a notification rang in his ears…
*Ding. You received a message from Yelir.
"Eh, Hyori? But, I can't see the message in my current situation…"
"Stop right now." Since it's useless to shout, Wil transmitted his thoughts to the Pegasus through their connection, to which, it responded with and stopped all of a sudden, restoring his sight again…
Yelir: I finished the job you asked me to do. Mia told SnowDew that their mother's full name is Scarlet Quilton and they are real siblings.
"Quilton? Not Smith? Sigh… They aren't my half-siblings, after all. But, then, again, both of them look nothing like mom, either way, and not to mention, that older sibling is only a year younger than me.
I know it would end up this way but I hoped that he would be her husband's son and I really met my sister, sigh…
Well, it doesn't matter. Let's visit them before sorting out everything on the western continent, then."
Time Traveler: I guess it's really a coincidence, after all. Thanks, Hyori. You can just continue with your work.
After finishing his conversation with Hyori, Wil continued his journey towards his destination.
Meanwhile, at level-170 wild zone;
"Ok. Now, I'm ready," spoke Hyori as she looked at SnowDew, and then, they started descending on to the ground where a thin stream seemed to be originated from a huge cave.
After stepping inside the cave, both of them raised their weapons and started moving slowly with high alert.
Unlike the usual caves, this one seemed to have a lot of holes on the ceiling here and there.
Because of the sunlight and the constant flow of water, a lot of grass, plants, flowers, etc… grew up, making the place look a lot like grasslands.
They continued to walk deeper into the cave, following the stream, which led to a small pond.
Looking at it, SnowDew's face turned serious, "this is it. Equip the item you received."
Nodding at SnowDew, Hyori took out a mask and equipped it.
As a bubble formed over them, both of them dived into the pond, where it seemed it's like a large underground lake leading to a dark tunnel.
Looking at the tunnel, SnowDew messaged Hyori to grab her hand and not to lose it while they landed on the bed of the lake before start walking towards it, without any comfort as the bubble around them not only made them stick on to the ground firmly but also protect them from the pressure and the incoming water flow against them.
"Activate, Night Vision Skill," mumbled SnowDew as she stepped inside the dark tunnel.
After walking an hour, both of them finally exited the tunnel and found themselves inside a cave with eleven large statues of different races and gender, built in the middle of the cave, of which ten of them are sitting on large thrones in a circle facing towards the last one in the center, who was standing like he was some culprit and they were judging him.
"What are they? Where is the Water Dragon, we are supposed to defeat?" mumbled SnowDew as she stared at them curiously while walking towards one of the statues.
*Ding. You discovered the Hall of the Demigods. You received 1500 fame.
"fif… fifteen hundred fame points?" As SnowDew's heart started racing, she turned her head and glanced at Hyori, only to see her standing there in a daze.
"Looks like she went into a shock. Well, I guess it's expected." As she turned her attention towards the statues, she mumbled curiously, "I wonder what Demigods are about…" and then started inspecting the statues one by one to find out the information.
"Archangel Seraph, Archmage Solomon, Neo-Hybrid Brygos, High-Elf Eden, Valkyrie Thera, Emperor Alexander, Archangel Michael, Valkyrie Cyrene, Neo-Hybrid Orion, High-Elf Faelyn, and Fallen Angel Lucifer.
Hmm, judging by their titles and their identity, this place might be some important of the main story. By the way, what is that Neo-Hybrid anyway... I can understand other titles but I don't think there's such a term even in the real world's history.
Just what is it, anyway? Let's ask Big Brother Time Traveler. Maybe, he knows something about it…"
***
The next day morning at Ravens Mansion, Wil and Oderico Segreti, the leader of the Scorpion gang leader is having a cup of coffee in the living room while in the middle of a negotiation.
"Mr. Segreti, I think I made myself clear that if you wish to buy any property before the auction, you should offer the buy-out price. It doesn't matter if you are buying just one or ten…"
He nodded, "I know but honestly. If someone is interested in buying it at a buyout price, they would have already done it in these past 6 six days. Even if it goes into the auction, at best you would get a profit of 50%, and here I am offering 75% and buy all 15 of them on the spot, right now.
As a good friend of your father, I'm only thinking of the best price you can get out of this deal. Not to mention, I heard that trouble at the casinos increased these days. The further you delay it, the value might decrease…"
Upon hearing him, While Storm frowned, "Mr. Segreti, are you threatening us?" The latter waved his hands his head in a hurry and explained, "No, of course not. I'm just reminding you guys about the practical situation. The loss of Philip isn't something that can be filled easily. The crime rate will naturally increase and those idiots will naturally try causing trouble..."
Meanwhile, Wil went into deep thinking, "at current market price, all of them combined will amount to 7.1 Billion. The price he is offering is nearly 12.5 billion. That means a loss of 1.5 billion dollars…"
Suddenly; Wil's mobile phone rang interrupting his thoughts…
"Hello, Silver."
"Young master, someone from the Antolov family contacted me, just now. He's willing to buy all of 15 casinos at once for 10 billion. I think it's a good deal since we were in a hurry to leave right away."
Without a change in the emotion, Wil replied calmly, "sorry but the casinos are already sold to the Scorpion gang. You can tell them that they are late…"
As Wil disconnected the call, he saw Oderico's expression changed to that of gladness, and confirmed, "It's as you heard. Consider it's done but I have one condition."
"A condition?"
Wil nodded, "well, it'll benefit you too. I want you to buy at the market price officially while the remaining bonus amount will be transferred to my account."
Upon hearing it, Oderico's eyes lit up and a small laugh escaped from his mouth, "What a coincidence. Honestly, I want to propose the same thing, however with just as low as 50% of the market rate. But, you beat me out of it."
After a couple of hours, Wil received a bank alert on his mobile phone.
*Your account has been credited with 5,332,368,152.63 WD*
As the remaining original amount was transferred to his dad's IC Bank account where the money will be locked, both of them shook their hands with a smile.
After others left with their commission and Oderico Segreti left with the documents, Storm asked, "Why didn't you just accept his proposal? You would have gotten 3.5 Billion more to spend on…"
Shrugging his shoulders, Wil turned around, "I don't want to take advantage of dad's will. It's the least I could do, as a son. Not to mention, I already have 12 Billion dollars that I received from Dad's personal account anyway. It's not like we are in need of a huge capital, right now.
Anyway, I'm done for today. Even if anyone else calls, just tell them that I'm busy unless the deal will be for the land and that's also if it's over 5 Billion. As for others, you know what to say…"
"Yes," nodded Storm as he followed Wil into the house.
*Welcome to War Online*
Finishing the deal, Wil once again logged in and found himself on a deserted island with nothing but sand and rocks.
"Summon, Fire Pegasus."
Mounting on it, he caressed it's mane, "let's go, buddy…"
*neigh*
The Pegasus then flapped its wings and continues flying towards the destination once again while Wil's vision once again blurred and then became dark…
