Chapter 178: Meeting his Mother part-2

Name:War Online Author:Snowstar
Looking at the worrisome look on her face, Wil thought, maybe, she was worrying that Andrea will take away her son or she was generally afraid of her sister.

After all, her adventures tell a lot about how scary she can be…

Since it isn't his problem, Wil but threw that worry over the back of his head.

In the end, he replied with a simple sentence without any further explanations, "I don't know."

Scarlet sighed in relief.

It made both of them concluded that she really doesn't want Andrea to return.

"Yeah, he's your cousin but he doesn't know it, yet," Scarlet confessed the truth, not intending to hide it.

"I'm feeling a little bit jealous of Rey, actually," Wil commented as he placed his attention on their family picture. "Both of us are abandoned by our biological mothers, and yet, he got the chance to grow up in a complete family while I get a broken one."

His comment made her speechless. She wasn't able to say anything else to him at all other than apologizing.

But just she was about to say it, Wil suddenly asked, "Do you have any more pictures of Mia?" After confirming that she's really his half-sister, a sense of kinship suddenly grew in Wil's heart, although he refused to admit the same thing with his mother.

While he can understand why she abandoned him, still it's hard for him to forgive her either.

Moreover, for many years, he thought the woman in the picture that his dad gave to him was his mother. It's not easy to accept the truth in front of his eyes.

His mother quickly left to the master bedroom and returned with an album, "here."

Wil put aside the family picture and took the album, taking the seat.

The album contains pictures of Mia from her birth.

As he was looking at the photographs one by one, Wil felt as if he was seeing her growing up in front of him.

The photos of her on the 50th day, 100th day, 1st birthday, 2nd birthday, the first time when they visited the church, the first time she was crawling, the first time she was trying to walk on her legs, the first time she was riding a bicycle, first time visiting a zoo, etc…

Of course, there are uncomfortable moments where she was with Rey or with Scott, smiling widely.

He kinda felt jealous of Rey a little bit as he wasn't there with her and his cousin was there instead of him.

As for Scott, no need to say it, Wil doesn't like him a bit for he's too normal, stole his mom away from his dad, and letting her live in this tiny apartment.

Even if does seem unreasonable, it was natural that a son would rarely like his mom's new husband.

Meanwhile, Scarlet slowly opened her mouth, telling him the situations behind each picture.

Wil found it a little bit strange that she kinda forgot a lot of them, especially the ones from her early six years.

He thought she might have forgotten it, so, he didn't felt anything amiss.

On the other hand, Silver was secretly observing Scarlet's actions from the corner of his eyes. If Storm was here, he would have immediately realized Silver begins to suspect something.

'Seems like I can still connect with Williard,' Scarlet who was a little bit hurt by his earlier actions, saw a sliver of hope.

At the same time, she was also thinking about something else from the past.

Two hours later;

After looking at all the photographs, Wil closed the album and said, "thank you."

Handing over the album to his mother, Wil then, looked at Silver, "shall we return to the Hotel?"

"Eh? Already?" Both of them said at the same time, expecting Wil to stay at least until lunch. "Young Master, it's almost 11. How about another hour or two?"

Wil stood up and replied, "We aren't staying for lunch, Silver."

Just as he walked a couple of steps, Silver gestured something to Scarlet with his facial expression. Upon which, she called him, "Wait, Williard."

"Yes?" He turned around.

"It's been a long time… um… since I have seen you again. I was hoping we could atleast have lunch together."

Wil shook his head, "No time. I'm busy."

"How about tomorrow, or maybe, day after tomorrow, or just any day, you are free, then? You, me, Mia, and Rey. We can have lunch together and Um… I can introduce you to them.

I have kept a lot of things away from them, too.

I'm sure you also have a few questions in your mind, don't you? If you wish to know anything, I'll try to answer everything." Scarlet then said, trying to be as honest as possible, as she started walking towards him.

She thought Mia might become a bridge to rebuild the connection between them.

This time, as Wil saw her eyes, he felt strange inside. He wanted to ask whether his dad is right. That he was the one who kept both of them away from each other.

At the same time, he was also afraid that his dad lied again to protect the image of his mother. He don't want to hate his mother.

All those complex feelings hit inside of him.

It was a similar feeling to how he wished to hug his grandmother and cry when he was very little. But, that very feeling made him very uncomfortable, right now.

Just as she wanted to touch his face, reminiscing something or about someone, Wil grabbed her hand and said, "Mrs. Quilton, I think you are misunderstanding about something. I'm not here to play your son.

In his dying letter, my father mentioned that my biological mother is alive, and to spare me from pain, he even lied about her identity, giving me someone else pictures.

When you abandoned me, I was too little, I didn't get the chance to say goodbye.

So, I just want to see you for once to say a proper goodbye.

That's all. Now, if you excuse me, I need to return. I have a lot of work to do. Goodbye Mrs. Quilton."

As she was stunned on the spot, Wil walked away towards the exit without waiting for Silver to follow him.

Just as he reached the door, he turned his head a bit and spoke, "I can see that you already moved on, so, live your life happily with your family. That's what dad wants too.

As for me, I already have enough in my hands. I don't want to complicate my life, further."

Seeing his back, she wasn't able to say anything to stop him and just stayed silent.

"I'm sorry, Lady Scarlet." Silver apologized with a bow, "Phil has hidden a lot of things from him, including even your own identity. I hope you understand why the Young Master is behaving this way. Don't worry. I'll think of something."

Until a few minutes ago, Scarlet felt everything was becoming fine and the knot in her heart slowly disappearing but Wil's final stance on their relationship crushed the glimmer of hope she left.

She realized that she should have asked him about his life, instead of just talking about Mia's childhood.

Everything happened so fast that she didn't even get to have a proper talk with Wil and by the time she realized that, they already disappeared from her sight.

As both of them left her sight, she collapsed on the floor with tears, "I'm sorry… I'm really sorry…"

It was unclear, who she was apologizing to, though…
