Viper Gang Headquarters, Hailey city;
*Creak*
The metal door opened, and the sunlight illuminated the room, revealing a woman in her late thirties sleeping in relax mode.
The sound of the creak jolted the woman from her sleep and she looked at the guard who entered the storage room.
"You, come with me," he spoke to her, pointing a gun at her.
Her eyes widened in response, not because of the gun but the sounds of helicopters in the sky. Her ears perked up, and she mumbled to herself, "one, two, three… No, it's four."
She thought, 'this little gang doesn't need four choppers. And they seemed like they aren't landing on the helipad but just hovering around.'
"What are you mumbling about? Come…" He gripped her arm tightly while freeing her and then, dragged her outside.
She takes a look at the sky.
'I knew it. Attack Helicopters. They are military. Wait a second. That's Boeing Apache… That's a twin-turboshaft one... Only the legion R used to possess those.
How do these guys provoke them? Or is it Wil and Silver? But, the Vulture group doesn't have ties with the military. Or maybe, they have made connections within these past 6 years.'
While she was in deep thinking mode, the guard took her to the hostage place, a seven-story building specifically designed to hold hostages like her.
Unlike their reputation, they don't torture and bring anything uncomfortable to the hostages.
Those who were kidnapped will be given the best food, nice accommodation with all facilities, including even a bathtub. It's more like a five-star hotel level boarding house than a hostage building.
Of course, the bill will add up on ransom money at the end.
There are also hostages who would think about why would they leave such a nice place.
At first, they will enjoy the luxury but soon, they will realize the bill increases exponentially and they can't afford to pay it.
The longer they stay, the greater their bill will be. The Viper gang then traps their families with high-interest loans from a bank they had a link with.
After all the options to get their freedom were gone, only two choices will be left. Either getting sold to the underground slave-market or getting their organs extracted and die.
This is something that every police knows but they are helpless because of their higher-ups.
They want to punish Blair at all costs but after investigating this, they realized it wasn't only Hailey city, the mafia gangs that are ruling other cities also have a similar system.
That's why, they want to turn Blair into an informer, extracting all the evidence they want against the other gangs.
Silver was taken aback after hearing it, how they managed such a thing under the Vulture group's radar and wondered whether their group is also involved or not.
After returning to the city, he decided to confront Storm about it since he's the one who looks over such matters.
Silver only looked over the casinos, the Ravens' Mansion security, and the Assassination missions. He was clueless about other things.
Finding the right opportunity, the police commissioner requested and convinced Wil, who agreed without any hesitation and added two more conditions. He won't spare such scum even if they are in his own group.
But, what they don't know is that the general had already planned to eradicate this scum after the deal is over whether Wil and the police agreed to it or not.
While Blair is listening to Wil's demands in a limo, Scarlet was taken to the dining section where everyone gathered in a hall to their knees and wore explosive vests.
More than thirty men are surroundings these 12 hostages and she joined them.
The guard pushed her, "now, wear it. Or else, this bullet will penetrate your skull."
The guard pointed the gun to her head.
Looking at the fearful expressions on the hostages whose lives suddenly turned upside down, and then, at the guards, she cooperated with him and wore the vest.
Steve then addressed everyone, "Don't need to worry. Like I always said, we will take care of hostages with hospitality. Once this situation is over, you all will go back to your lodgings."
Of course, none of them bought it.
Except for two to three of them, everyone started pleading to let them talk to their families and their ransom will be paid no matter what...
But, Steve didn't listen and shot the bullet into the air.
"Silence. Now be…"
*Ring*Ring*
*Shush* He gestured everyone to be silent and picked up the call, "Sir…"
"Release all the hostages, right now." He heard a voice from the other end, except that it sounds shaky.
"Sir, are you alright?" Steve asked him with worry.
"Just reply yes and do as I say, you dumb f****r. By the time, if I even see one explosive jacket on them…"
Steve didn't let him finish the sentence and said, "it will be done."
After a while, Blair entered the hall while everyone had this puzzled look at what's happening with their situation suddenly changed.
Only Scarlet was calm and collected, already knowing what might have happened. But, she was still confused why Blair has this scared look on him. It's not like they lack weapons to counter those helicopters unless there's a huge army outside.
The first thing Blair did after entering the hall is to look at the hostages.
He spotted Scarlet in the middle of them and scurried towards them before bowing to her, "Greetings, Madam Smith. Our boys didn't make you uncomfortable, right?"
Scarlet was taken aback while the rest of the hostages turned their heads towards her, thinking that she must have a great background that he can't offend.
Blair continued, "I truly don't know who dared to kidnap you for ransom. I definitely didn't give the order."
At that moment, Scarlet was sure that he was thinking that she's Andrea. She didn't correct him either. Like mother, like son.
Scarlet nodded, "fine. Let me just leave. My husband must be worrying about me."
"Husband?" Blair took a step back in surprise, "Mafia Lord Philip is alive?"
"Her husband is the Mafia Lord?" All the guards shivered for a second, especially the one who caught her on the premises and lock up in the storage room. He already started to sweat.
"No, Philip's my ex."
Upon hearing her statement, Blair connected all the dots in his mind.
Andrea is the real mother of Williard and a person named Scarlet was nothing but a ruse to hide her identity. It's no wonder they can't find anything about her but her name.
Both of them must be divorced and she's now living with another man.
People say responding with silence for a statement is half agreeing. But, silence is also the one that causes misunderstandings…
"Your son and I have negotiated a deal, Ms. Smith. After this, you'll never see me again. I hope you won't hold a grudge against me."
Scarlet stayed silent and responded with a simple nod.
Then, he started escorting all the hostages personally to the gate.
On the way, the hostages thanked her for helping them. She isn't brazen enough to accept such undeserving compliments.
So, she simply asked them to thank his son, instead.
As they neared the gate, the police sirens echoed in her ears and she thought, that girl who the kidnapper wasn't really exaggerating about how her son mobilized the entire police force.
The gate was opened and the hostages stepped out and panicked at first sight of dozens of policemen and hundreds of arms aiming at them with the weapons.
'Just what is the background of this lady?' The same thought rang in all the hostages' minds.
Meanwhile, inside the limo, Wil smiled in satisfaction, and looked at the General, "now, I want a missile to blow up an uninhabited house in the old district."
General Russo nodded.
"Silver, call the news channels and relay the news of terrorists being dead without ashes under the attack.
As for their identifications, use some long-dead people of our enemies… It's best if they belong to the disbanded Mafia gangs."
Silver immediately thought of Bridge family and replied, "I will get it done."
As the hostages were escorted by the police, Wil then looked at his mother who was looking straight towards him. Tears welled up in her eyes.
At that moment, he felt as if he was visible to her. Believing that seeing through the glass with a dark shade from outside is impossible if they are standing far away, Wil turned his head to the other side.
"Silver, take my mother home and join me at the Airport. Commissioner Hart, General Russo, thank you for your cooperation. We have to part our ways here."
After shaking the hands, both of them got down along with Silver, who walked towards Scarlet and apologized to her.
She waved her hand, "it's not your fault, Silver. I was the one who asked you a favor."
She pointed to the limo with her eyes, "is Williard inside?"
Silver sighed, "I'm sorry but the Young Master doesn't wish to see you, Lady Scarlet. He's probably thinking that it's his fault that you are targeted. If we hadn't met you, then, you would have been safe…"
Scarlet fell silent, not knowing how to respond.
Upon informing her about Wil's intentions, he proceeds to tell her something they failed to tell last time that the Vulture group has been dissolved for good and Wil is now operating a gaming company along with an IT corporation.
The limo started to move while Scarlet looked at it, and clenched her fist, deciding not to give up on completing her family now that there's nothing stopping her, neither Philip nor his Vulture group.
She said in a firm tone, "Silver, I decided to move to Leafway city with my family. Can you arrange it?"
