Wil landed on what seemed to be the palace grounds and start walking.
With the bubble around him blocking all the pressure while the night vision goggles displaying everything in sight, he felt that this quest was a piece of a cake.
But, in the next second, his facial expression changed.
"Lad, a strong enemy is approaching. Get ready to engage in battle." Averil warned him in his head.
Wil quickly raised his palms towards the direction Averil pointed to so that he can finish it off with Heavenly Push.
Soon, the enemy's came into a 500-meter range. His night vision goggles captured the enemy's appearance.
"Oh! It's the Dragon Octopus. Looks like it sensed me after exiting the ship." Wil sighed in relief, "Never mind. It's a good thing that our enemy is kind of a dragonkin. I wonder whether it will work on hybrids too. If not, I can still deal it with Heavenly Push."
"Partial-dragon transformation," Wil mumbled, changing into a humanoid dragon with green scales over his body.
The Dragon Octopus that swims towards him with an extreme speed abruptly halted all of a sudden and stared at Wil.
*Ding! Dragon Octopus, Orville's hostile status changed to friendly.
"Yes, my conjecture is right. It truly works on hybrids too. Doesn't necessarily need to be a pure dragon."
A passive skill in the transformation lets him befriend every dragon kind as long as they aren't a pet of a player.
But that's only until he doesn't attack it. If he attacks a creature, then, it once again turns into hostile again.
It slowly swam towards Wil and stopped before him.
Its tentacles started to move weirdly as if it trying to gesture to him something since it can't talk.
But, Wil doesn't need to learn sign language because he has a translator in his head.
"He says, whether you need any help with something in his territory." Averil translated its actions in his head.
Since the monsters of legendary grade can understand the human language, Wil directly spoke, "I came here to retrieve the Imperial sword of Athledon to revive the kingdom once again. Can you help me?"
The octopus nodded its head and it swam past him and then, stopped before a structure that still intact. It has a portal at the entrance and has some strange symbols on the walls.
Wil glanced at it to inspect.
Athledon temple.
Description: The temple of Poseidon, the god of seas and oceans.
"So the sword is in the temple, huh," Wil muttered to himself, and his entire attention shifted to the palace.
Instead of walking towards the temple, Wil started running towards the palace, not wasting any time since there are only 20 minutes left for the Bubble to disappear.
He entered the palace.
Since all palaces built by NPC are quite identical, at least the interior, it didn't take him much time to find the treasury room.
"Wow. Athledon seems richer than Llyne."
As soon as he opened the door, Wil exclaimed to see the treasury. His eyes are literally shining with the gold coins and gold bars everywhere.
"Luck seems to be raining on me…" He mumbled as he inspected a gold bar.
Athledon's Gold bar
Description: A gold bar belongs to the lost kingdom of Athledon. You can exchange the gold bar at the bank for 500 Athledon gold coins.
He tried to place it in the inventory to see what kind of warning system will send him.
As expected, there's a notification from the system, although it's a little bit different from what he thought.
*Ding! You acquired lost kingdom's gold bar. Convert it to Llyne's gold bar? Conversion will be 1:1.
Wil quickly pressed Yes.
He wanted to convert them not because he needs them. He has enough gold, already.
It's because he realized Hugo might need a large amount of gold to run the kingdom. So, his plan is just as the same he did with Rikilda.
Loaning a high amount of gold coins to Hugo on a low-interest rate of 1% per month.
Not only will he receive a decent amount of gold coins every month, but the kingdom will also be in his control. Prince Hugo will sure control the kingdom but Wil will be the one who will pull the strings.
With a greedy look on his face, Wil swept everything in the treasury. Sadly, no legendary grade items or equipment. But, they were compensated by other treasures.
Other than gold coins and gold bars, There are a lot of gems, especially rubies and diamonds.
Athledon's Ruby.
Description: It's a high-grade quality, 10-carat ruby that belongs to the Athledon kingdom. You can exchange it at the bank for 500 Athledon gold coins.
Athledon's Diamond.
Description: It's a fine quality, a 1-carat diamond that belongs to the Athledon kingdom. You can exchange it at the bank for 20 Athledon gold coins.
Athledon's Emerald.
Description: It's a high-grade quality, 10-carat sapphire that belongs to the Athledon kingdom. You can exchange it at the bank for 2000 Athledon gold coins.
Wil gasped as he inspected the emerald and almost dropped it. "Damn, looks like emeralds are too expensive. Too bad there are only a few of them here. Useless diamonds are more in number…"
"2313 gold bars, 85 rubies, 24 emeralds, 325 diamonds, 912 thousand gold coins. This quest is very fruitful. Okay, time to return."
After a few minutes, he exited the palace and ran in the direction of the Warship with only a couple of minutes left before the bubble disappears.
But, who could have expected he will be blocked by a giant arm all of a sudden.
*Thud*
The stones below the arm were destroyed as it flung it down just a meter away from Wil to stop him.
Wil turned his head towards his left and saw the Octopus with an unfriendly gaze.
But, when he saw it didn't change into a hostile state, he asked, "what is it?"
The other arm pointed it towards the temple and did some other gestures.
"He says asking about the Imperial sword that's sealed inside the temple." Averil translated to him.
"Damn, I almost forgot about it." Wil then looked at the skill and thought, "I'm running out of time. There's roughly 100 seconds left.
After that, the bubble skill will disappear and I will receive a debuff that will continuously drain 100 mana per second, which means 54 seconds.
After mana became empty, then, it will be anywhere from 1-10 million HP/sec. With 1.4 Billion of HP, another 140-1400 seconds. So, even if I assume the worst, at the very least, I will have 4 minutes.
If nothing happens, I can retrieve it. Or else, I need to use HP recovery scrolls, I bought from the Battle shop.
Or I can just get back to the ship and wait for a day and return. What is better, Hmm?"
After wasting 30 seconds to decide the option, Wil spoke to the Octopus, "I need your help. My protection can't hold for much longer. So, escort me to the temple."
Actually, he asked for its help, not because of the time or protection but just thought that there might be another monster guarding the sword, inside the temple.
Worse, he can fight with it but what if it's a monster above 400 like the guardian of Northern Grennola ocean.
Even if he goes all out, Wil can't defeat such monster. So, in that case, he thought of using this Octopus as cannon fodder while he escapes to the ship.
Worst comes to worst, after handing the Imperial sword and completing the quest, Wil even thought of just kicking out Hugo from his ship. The monster will chase Hugo if he can stay alive at 10,000 meters depths of the ocean.
He already lost the book of destiny once. Wil can't afford to lose another item again just for the unknown reward quest.
Upon his request, the Octopus grabbed him with one of its arms and sped up towards the teleport. It didn't even take ten seconds for it to reach the temple.
Wil, who was in the bubble didn't feel the speed at all. His surroundings were blurry for a few seconds and after they became clear, voila, now, he was standing before the temple.
As it freed Wil, he entered the portal and found himself in the vast temple similar to the ones at the Llyne Kingdom or Reverie kingdom. The only difference is the statue.
While the Llyne people worship a Sphinx, the Reverie people worship Zeus, the people of Athledon worship Poseidon.
The imposing statue is atleast as big as his golem with a trident in its hands.
But, Wil didn't have time for distractions. He went straight towards the inner chamber where usually the offerings were taking place. Players usually avoid them as they nothing to do with that.
They either go left to the teleportation point or resurrection point at the right end.
As he entered the inner chamber, Wil saw a rusty sword floating in mid-air. He didn't waste time grabbing the sword and return.
Unlike what he expected, he didn't go into any trouble and safely gets out of the temple. There's no monster or anything like that. Exiting the temple, he thought, "I really overestimated the difficulty of this mission."
He showed the Imperial sword to the Octopus that was waiting outside and spoke, "now, please get me to that ship fast."
Instead of grabbing, the Octopus started to make signs and then put forward an arm towards Wi's face.
"What did it want, now?" Wil mumbled to himself.
Before Averil came to the rescue once again, the system cleared his doubts.
*Ding! Dragon Octopus, Orville is thankful to Player Time Traveler for releasing it from its prison.
*Ding! Your familiarity with Orville increases by 10.
"Cool… The higher the familiarity, the higher the chances of capturing it in the future. Let's work on increasing familiarity with it until my level reaches 300." Wil thought as he shakes the arm.
Grabbing him, The Octopus swam towards the ship. Just as they reached a hundred-meter radius, Wil used his connection to the ship and teleported directly to the captain's chamber. It was one of the perks he received upon activating the crew system.
*Wow* the first thing he heard as soon as he returned is the bark of Felix, which was left on the ship with Hugo, half an hour ago.
The door was pushed open and the fox entered the chamber and barked once again.
He caressed its fur and exited the chamber.
"Time Traveler, you are back." A smile appeared on Hugo as he saw Wil. "It's really strange though, seeing you returning from that door when you exited with a disappearance."
Wil didn't comment on it and directly took out the rusty sword from his inventory.
