Ormshire fort, Vulture City;
A couple was roaming inside the fort.
The man was accompanying the girl while she tours around in excitement.
From time to time, he sneakily glances at her, observing her reaction.
Maybe it's because she's her fiancée or maybe it's just his inherent quality, whatever the reason, Wil can't help but brag to Akiko while showing off the Armory, various rooms, and of course the Treasury like how he was the one that filled all these gold coins.
Akiko didn't also find it strange once she considered Wil's background. A couple of hundred thousand is possible to buy.
Wil also wanted to brag how he has a million gold coins in his bank account and another 2 million in his inventory right now but at the last second, he barely held it and swallowed the words.
"Hmm?" She looked at curiously who was about to say something like I have a lot of…
"*Cough* Ahem." Wil tries to change the subject. "The fort also has dungeons in the underground. Would you like to see it?"
"Dungeon?" Akiko's eyes lit up as she asked, "What level?"
"No, it isn't the instance dungeon you are thinking about," Wil clarified his statement, "but a real dungeon. Since this is built on top of a hill, the past rulers might have dug deep into the hill. Follow me…"
A while later, both of them entered the underground chamber where there's a path that leads further down.
With the help of Fire torches that are placed on either side of the wall, Wil and Akiko walked down the path without the need for sunlight.
On the way, she saw blue crystals embedded in the walls.
As she inspected it with curiosity, she gasped in surprise. "Is this a crystal mine?"
Wil followed her gaze and saw she was looking at the unmined crystals.
"Yeah. It appears so." He confirmed her suspicions. "But they are useless in this game…"
He took out a fist-sized crystal from the inventory and handed it to her. "Inspect it."
"Hmm?"
Ocean Crystal
Description: It's a normal quality, a 10-carat crystal that belongs to Time Traveler. You can exchange it at the bank for 1 gold coin.
"Eh? 1 gold coin?" Akiko was taken aback. She was disappointed.
Wil nodded as he saw her reaction is exactly how he expected it to be.
"Yeah, it's a waste of time and resources. Hiring workers, and then, getting it polished… The profit will be at most 10-20 silver coins per crystal. That's why I sent away all the miners away."
In fact, for an average person. 20 silvers is still a big amount as it's almost 300 dollars in real-world currency but for someone like Akiko and Wil, it's just like pebbles on the road… She too agreed with his opinion.
"It's better if they were preserved. If we can somehow allow the sunlight and light up this area, these crystals shine more naturally and make this place more beautiful."
"Hmm…" Wil ponders about it for a while. Her idea is feasible indeed. He knew of an item that can light up the area.
Eventually, they ended up at the hollowed region of the hill. There are blue crystals everywhere.
Since there's nothing else to see, both of them returned to the Fort.
"Your Majesty…" Wil found his Prime Minister was waiting at the underground chamber for him.
The Prime Minister looked at her but Wil didn't introduce her for obvious reason as he doesn't know how to do it.
Should he tell she's the future queen? He can't as they aren't officially engaged. Then, should he tell she's his friend or guest? It might upset her when they are supposed to get engaged soon. So, he kept silent.
The Prime Minister didn't think much of it and said, "King Athledon sent an invitation to the palace."
He handed him the letter.
As Wil read it, he wondered whether it is because of Triena Island.
But as he can't leave his state yet, Wil replied, "Send a message to the palace that I have some important business to attend to and can't visit him right now."
The Prime Minister then glanced at Akiko and then, bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty."
"You are refusing a King's invite?" Akiko was taken aback.
Wil smiled as he pointed the name above his head, "it's because of this color."
"Purple colored?" Akiko was confused for a bit. "Are you cursed or something?" She asked, not knowing what it meant.
"No, it became after I kill people," Wil replied her.
"But, shouldn't it be red? The higher your kill rate, the deep the red will appear."
Wil then clarified her doubts, "when one kills more than a hundred thousand people, red turns into purple."
"Hun… Hundred thousand?" Akiko's eyes widened in shock. "You… killed a hundred thousand innocent people…" As ridiculous as it sounds, she felt like her fiancée really is capable of such a thing. After all, he is from a Mafia background.
Wil saw a trace of fear in her eyes. He quickly answered her before she misunderstood him. "It was an accident. I found a weapon on the bottom of an island. I retrieved it and the island drowned along with the NPCs. Not my fault, honestly."
"Oh! I see…" Akiko's eyes became clear and she calmed down before excitement took her over. "Can you show me the weapon? Ah!"
In the next second, she realized she was acting too close. They are hardly acquaintances and she was asking his secret. "I'm sorry…" She quickly apologized.
Wil waved his hands with a smile, "no worries. Here…"
With a thought in his mind, a thin and long pillar appeared in Wil's hand.
"Eh?" She wondered what kind of stunt is this. Was he pulling her leg?
She then examined it.
As people can't inspect the weapons equipped or bound to others, all she found it is a normal stone pillar until it suddenly grew the size.
"Kya…" She stepped back with a scream as a pillar shoot up towards the ceiling suddenly.
'Cute.' Wil thought in his mind, looking at her expression.
While she was embarrassed about her actions, Wil retracted it again. "As you can see, I can manipulate the size."
"Oh! Just like the Sun Wukong's staff from the Journey to the West…" Akiko made a comment.
Wil nodded but didn't say anything further about the details of the pillar or the other two weapons of the set.
After throwing it back to the inventory, both of them started to talk about the auction.
"According to our Intel, the giant corporations already entered the game and they are not holding back with investments. This world auction is definitely going to be tough.
You must gather at least a hundred thousand gold coins to get one of the top three items. Just in case, 200 thousand."
It suddenly made him remember that he might not able to withdraw the million gold coins of deposit at Llyne bank.
He wondered whether he should exchange the gold bars for gold coins.
But then, he remembered he still has over 600 thousand Llyne gold coins that he converted them from Athledon gold coins, back when the kingdom hasn't been revived yet.
Adding to that, there's another hundred thousand gold coins that he gained from the previous withdrawal, killing monsters, clearing the Tower of destiny, etc…
Wil felt that there's no need to touch other things.
As for the forty-five thousand from teleportation fees at Scarlet Town, Wil decided to send it to Aster and deposit it in Scarlet Bank's vault instead.
