Chapter 252: Siren's Master

Name:War Online Author:Snowstar
Two days before the D-day;

Searvale Kingdom;

In the NPC city of Sase Allanar that was located in the middle of the forest, elves are roaming here and there. Every one of them possesses some kind of weapon in their arms players and NPCs alike.

To say about the city, the number of citizens that live here didn't even match the number that lived in a normal NPC town of a human kingdom.

Even the number of players exceeded NPCs by a large margin with roughly 10000 citizens and over 200 thousand players.

The same goes for the NPC guards. Roughly over 20-25 dozen guards are overseeing the entire city.

Looking at such statistics, one can imagine the players took over the city from NPC, although the reality is quite different.

Each Elven Kingdom contains four cities and 12 towns but combining all the kingdoms, with 32 cities and 96 towns, so far, only three have been occupied.

Just three…

Shocking but true…

Even though they have little security, the NPC Elves who are in minority numbers are strongly united, and whenever they get attacked, every one of the NPCs will come forward to defend their city.

In that way, their security is stronger than the human kingdoms.

It's extremely difficult for someone to raid the town/city and take control of it.

Even if one occupies a town or a city, the Imperial palace will send their Elite soldiers to claim back.

If their soldiers get defeated, then the Royal knights will come and if even they are defeated, the guardian/high priestess of the kingdom will personally take care of the invaders.

Unless one is strong enough to face an Ascended or have nobility of Marquis or higher, they are hopeless.

Because of this, the guilds have no choice but to look for player town scrolls to develop their own towns and cities.

And it is also the reason the Elven kingdoms aren't a popular destination for ambitious guilds to develop. It is more for casual players or adventurer teams.

Only an information network guild like Galaxy Net is crazy enough to set down its roots here.

Just like the usual day, new players are teleporting to the city and the veterans are going out towards the wild zone.

A team with four newbies, who just reached level-20, appeared in the temple.

Although they appear like teenagers, every one of them is an expert in disguise. It only took 3 hours for the four of them to escape the newbie world.

They neither did any quests nor took any extra help. Just the four of them. That's all.

Even with 25 members of help, it took Wil, an entire six hours to leave the newbie village back then. Now, that says about their skill levels…

While the three of them are looking around, the leader of the party is busy with his streaming.

The streaming option is a built-in facility for those who wanted to stream. There are two types. The first one makes your eyes the camera and everything you see will be recorded. Most people will choose this because it's convenient.

However, those who wanted to film themselves can choose the second option which lets them summon a camera into their hands. They had to do it manually…

Professionals also choose the second option as they are rather comfortable with a camera in their hands.

Right now, this 15-year-old Caspian is filming himself in a selfie mode.

"Hey guys, we are here at Sase Allanar, a city at elf kingdom. Everyone here is an elf, just like us."

He stretched his hand so that all of them appear together. "Guys, tell our viewers something like how do you feel about this place?"

Before one of his friends even reply, they were interrupted.

*Screech*

The four of them flinched for a second as they heard a powerful screech from far away.

It echoed all over the city.

Everyone in the city was alarmed.

While the players are wondering what's happening, the NPCs stopped all of their works and armed themselves to defend against the incoming enemy.

Very quickly, as the view of the flying beast became clear, everyone sighed in relief and put down their weapons.

Slowly, a 2m big and 5 m long Phoenix has landed in the middle of the city.

A girl jumped down and ordered it in a cold tone like a master ordering a servant/slave, "Pyre, you are free to roam."

It screeched once again and quickly flew away from her.

Without caring about her surroundings, she walked towards the Mayor's mansion.

As if they received an order, everyone bowed to her and quickly dispersed.

The four of them are dumbfounded. Everything just happened too quickly and they don't know how to react.

"What just happened, right now?" Caspian thought as he looked at her back. "Who is she?"

As he inspected her, Caspian mumbled, "Siren… Ah!" he quickly realized that he was still streaming live and saw many teasing comments popped up. He blushed and quickly turned it off in embarrassment.

After a while, she reached the Mayor's mansion and went to the guest room where she saw an Elf was just enjoying her alone time, reading some book.

"Master, I returned." Rini/Siren greeted her with a bow.

The elf smiled, "What's the situation in the Palace, Princess Siren?"

Rini answered, "The high priestess divined that Uflenor is going to attack us. Currently, the soldiers are in search of the spies."

She then took out a letter and handed it to the Elf. "Her Majesty wishes to meet you."

The elf took the letter and read the invitation letter. She simply put the letter aside on the table. "It isn't the time yet."

"But the war is almost upon us, Master." Rini reminded her. While the Elf might not know, Rini knows that the war is only two days away. Most likely, the next day, the system will announce it.

Her uncle has an insider in the company, after all.

In response to Rini's reminder, the Elf shook her head, "A very important guest is going to visit me soon."

"Important guest?" Rini wondered who that might be.

The Elf quickly saw through her even though Rini masked her expression. She said, "Do you remember the time when I agreed to be my disciple?"

Rini answered, "You said it's because I'm the successor of High-Elf Faelyn."

"It isn't the complete truth." She confessed to Rini, "I also saw your fate intertwined with him just like me…"

"Him?" Rini wondered who she's talking about.

"Princess Siren, I don't know how long it will take but I can say very soon. I would also advise you to stay with me until then.

This meeting might be something that can change your fate. But, at the same time, as a Princess, you have important duties. So, I leave it to your choice." The Elf said to her.

"Hmm…" Rini grabbed her chin and fell into deep thoughts.

Thousands of meters below the waters of the Xynnar Ocean, the Warship is moving at its fastest speed in the darkness.

Maybe, it's too threatening or maybe it isn't a threat at all, for whatever reason, none of the aquatic beasts are trying to attack the ship.

The Fallen Angels are in the control room, steering the wheel while Wil is busy leveling up in his portable dungeon.
