Deloris town, Llyne kingdom;
"Young Master, you are back." Aster greeted Wil who returned from Searvale.
"Is everyone here?" Wil asked him as he got out of the temple.
"Uhh… Not exactly…" Aster replied with hesitation. He had trouble while answering a part of bad news. "Everyone from our Vulture guild is either log out or leveling up in the dungeons. But…"
"What is it?" Wil asked him.
"Almost one-third of Scarlet-B division left the guild and there are only a few from Scarlet-A division as well. The reason for their leaving is because…" Aster glanced at Wil's calm expression and continued, "Their guild leader hoarded all the War points for himself and they were being pulled out of the War."
"Oh! So, it's just that." Wil didn't take the news seriously, "don't worry. In my eyes, all of them are extras. Only the members of the Vulture guild matters to me…"
Aster was taken aback by Wil's attitude. He expected him to punish them, not leave them just like that. After all, there is a code of Vulture gang. One is free to leave but those who betray the organization will have to die.
Then, he reminded himself that Wil isn't like his father. Since the young master has already decided to let them go, he threw away the thought.
However, in the next second, he realized his thoughts were wrong.
As soon as he claimed that only the Vulture guild is important, Wil halted his footsteps and his voice suddenly turned cold, "But mass leaving the guild is also a matter of prestige. If I don't do something about it, then people might think I'm a pushover. Do you have their names?"
"Ah! Yes…" Aster hastily replied. "Every name has been recorded in the death note."
"Mark them… they'll be the first ones we will take action against after I took over this kingdom."
Aster still wondered how Wil's gonna take over the kingdom… Allies can't attack each other, right… Maybe, he's going to take the help of Searvale?
While having a lot of thoughts, he followed Wil silently through the bustling streets of Deloris.
As Wil still wore the mask of tranquility over his eyes, no one identified him.
Even though Wil's actions upset many people, especially amongst the players of Evelon, Llyne, and Zuweth, he also gained massive popularity among the players of the other kingdoms. One's interview also helped him indirectly.
As they changed the streets and entered the residential district which is full of NPC houses, Wil saw the space before the Mayor's mansion was packed with players whose names are in red.
A team of over 20 soldiers with a level-300 Captain stood before the gate, blocking everyone. So, everyone just stood outside of the gate as if they were protesting.
Wil frowned at first but then, realized all of them are non-combat players and many of them have cameras and mics. "Are they reporters?" He wondered.
"Argh… These pests didn't go yet…" Meanwhile, Aster was annoyed as soon as he saw them. He hurriedly apologized to Wil and asked him to give a minute to clear them.
"No, it's alright." Wil waved his hands. "What do they want? Let me guess… my interview?"
"Yes." Aster nodded vigorously. "These annoying flies kept on pestering about interviews. They even tried to interview the NPCs about their view towards the Young Master. Because of that, I had to ask the soldiers to patrol and keep an eye on them.
The people are actually very few right now. Once it will be known that young master arrived here, the entire Street will be blocked by the media."
"I think it's better if we just go to the guild residence," Aster suggested to him.
"No, it's alright." Wil waved his hands. "Bring five of them inside the mansion. I'll give them the interview. The last thing I want is to make an enemy out of the media. With their articles, they can easily manipulate the casual people's mindset."
"Uhh…" Aster was stunned as he heard Wil's words. 'That's right. How did I miss this…' Although his face was calm on the outside, he was sweating bullets inside.
An hour ago, he ordered the soldiers to kill the people who kept on annoying him… He wondered the negative articles that are published in the past hour are because of his mistake.
However, he kept silent and didn't confess it to Wil.
Wil and Aster walked towards the crowd. Wil removed his mask so that the soldiers discover his identity.
Just as they reached the crowd, one of them who turned around spotted Wil with a pillar in his hand. "It's Time Traveler." The blonde screamed before rushing towards him with a mic in her hands. The cameraman also followed her.
Following them, the remaining also rushed towards them.
"Short teleportation," Wil mumbled before disappearing in front of their eyes and appear right in front of the soldiers that were guarding the entrance.
The sudden appearance of a person before him alerted the Captain but as he saw Wil's figure, he put back his weapon and bowed, "Welcome back Your Majesty…"
The soldiers kneeled on their one leg and greeted him. The reporters got astonished. Some of them immediately turned on the cameras and captured the moment.
As the media went into a frenzy for a while, contacting their friends, who are looking for a connection in the Vulture guild, so that they can get an interview, Aster announced Wil's decision.
He randomly selected five people and granted them access into the Mansion. Aster didn't select based on their background because he doesn't want the others to write that his Young Master is just favoring the rich new stations over them.
The ones that got selected were all smiles, leaving behind the rest of them outside.
They can't help but curse their bad luck…
After a while, the ten reporters with their cameramen got into the Mayor's Mansion and saw Wil was comfortably sitting on the sofa.
"Please, make yourselves comfortable…" He gestured them to sit, maintaining a smile on his face.
While the cameramen stood behind them, focusing on Wil, the reporters took their seats.
"Now, tell me what you wish to know." He said to them. "I'll give you five questions, each…"
The first one to speak was the girl that identified him earlier. "I'm Maria Clarke from WCN. First of all, congratulations for becoming the first gamer to reach level-300."
"Thanks…" Wil nodded. He was also surprised that a reporter from WCN came to interview him. After all, they are an established news channel in the Western Continent. He doesn't know whether her identity is real or not but it didn't matter either way.
"There's a rumor going on in the forums about how you have the insider support of Summersoft. Any comment on it?" She asked him.
Wil shook his head. "Of course not. If anything, it was quite opposite. Perhaps you may or may not know that I'm the one that introduced the loophole of the guardians before the first update."
Everyone nodded as his achievements were known to the public.
"In the first update, the system increased the prices of guardians and limited their activity to prevent people from taking advantage…
As for the second update, they gave wings to the Demon race and removed the mana usage for Angel race."
Everyone stared at him silently. They wondered what has that got anything to do with him…
"I'm the world's first player to maximize the flying. The title made me fly without any mana."
Wil didn't speak any further about it. He proceeded with another complaint, "I worked hard to acquire a skill that lets me breathe underwater. But, they just made swimming underwater available.
It was very difficult to become a crown prince of a kingdom. It wasn't given. I earned it. And yet, I lost the position because of an unfortunate event of the death of everyone including the kind because of Angel of War, Gadriel…
I'm also the governor of the Eldershore region. This wasn't given but earned. And yet, I also lost that position because Llyne submitted to Zuweth…
There are other things as well but I don't want to raise an issue over every little thing.
All I want to say that I'm also a victim of the changes that happened in the game. If the people still think that I have the support of the company, then, I would say they are sick in their heads…"
The reporters gasped in surprise. They didn't know about these things Wil faced. In truth, some of them indeed have bad personal opinions about Wil. They are just forced to come here by their superiors. Now that they heard Wil's side of the story, they can't help but sympathize with him.
'Maybe, Time Traveler isn't that bad as people think he is…' The rookie reporter from WCN thought in her head.
Even though it's just for a moment, everyone had the same thought until a freelance journalist asked him about the expelling issue gamers from East Ocean and Eldershore cities.
When heard the question, Wil simply replied, "Why is it wrong?"
Everyone was confused. They wondered why it isn't. You used your authority and expelled thousands of people away from the city, forcing them to go other places and settle down. And yet, you are asking Why…
Looking at the expression, Wil's crossed his legs, and said, "First let's talk about Eldershore city. I admit that I personally expelled the Dreamwalkers guild. Why? It is simple. They are my enemies.
They tried to slander me on the forums, and invade this town. If I don't even retaliate, then, perhaps, tomorrow, some other guild will do the same. I'm not a pushover, you know…
And as for guilds in East Ocean city, I'm sorry but I as well as my guild had already shifted to Deloris town back then. I don't hold any authority. I want to ask, on what grounds, they dared to accuse me?"
