Chapter 303: Day 3: Five seconds to kill a king

Name:War Online Author:Snowstar
Campsite at Blaisia, Zuweth kingdom;

Zuweth's King, the second prince, Zuweth's Supreme Commander, Rikilda, the player representative Starlight, and finally, Blackfall who was unofficially representing Zuweth's players entered a tent one by one and took their seats.

"Your Majesty…" Starlight reported, pointing at the map of Evelon. "With the help of fellow adventurers, we were able to capture the region of Ai Themor and Neve Serin.

All of the towns and cities in these two regions are now under our control. However, more than three-fourths of our forces are depleted. We cannot advance further."

"What about our Army? How many of them are left?" The King looked at the Supreme Commander.

He replied, "Roughly four thousand left, Your Majesty. Thankfully, all the six generals were alive and are currently stationed in different cities and towns."

"Four thousand, huh!" The King fell into thoughts. He was calculating some numbers in his mind and his face doesn't look good at the moment.

Starlight then said, "To make sure the citizens won't the chance to either rebel or get support from the citizens of other regions, we need another ten thousand…"

"Ten thousand?" The huge number brought the king back to the reality and a frown appeared on his face.

He knew that he can't afford to move ten thousand soldiers.

He already lost 15 thousand soldiers because of the King's rampage on Day 1 and another twenty thousand while his army tried to invade Evelon on Day 2.

Still, the issue here isn't about the remaining 45 thousand soldiers. The problem is that of the remaining ones, 20 thousand of them belong to Llyne.

If he sends away ten thousand of his soldiers to station Evelon, then, it would be a danger to his kingdom.

From the start of the war, he was wary of Llyne's soldiers who can change their sides at any time.

But at the same time, he can't also send them to Evelon. What if his fears come true and Wil reveals the Imperial sword? Then, he might lose control over those regions.

After thinking for a while, he thought of a solution to keep them in check and at the same time, not losing control over the regions.

Keeping the Generals, Royal knights, and Elite level soldiers within Zuweth, he decided to send over ten thousand Llyne soldiers to the Evelon and another ten thousand Zuweth soldiers along with them.

As for the remaining Llyne soldiers, they will be separated into small groups and spread over the two kingdoms.

After the issue raised by Starlight is solved, he then asked, "What's the status of the Crown prince?"

"According to our spies, he was still at the capital city, safe and sound." Starlight answered to him.

The Supreme Commander then said, "We have sent a few teams. However, all of our rescue attempts turned out to be a failure. I'm wondering whether I should send the Generals."

"I think it's time for both of us to make a move," Rikilda joined the conversation. "That Elven king hid for enough time. Let's kill him."

Just like the players, she too doesn't care about the life of the Crown Prince. All she wanted is to finish the battle as soon as possible.

So, she suggested fighting head-on, instead of wasting rescue attempts.

However, the King was against the idea. "No, if I make the move, then, he'll kill my son, on the spot. Not to mention, with that beast on his side, we can't kill him either. Did you forget what happened when he came here last time…"

"I don't think you have to face the beast, Your Majesty." Starlight said to him.

"Hmm? What do you mean by that?" The King asked this player representative with wide connections.

Starlight explained, "I have contacted a few friends of mine. I heard that every Elven kingdom has that kind of beast which is usually used as a last resort.

Of several theories regarding the beast, everyone agreed on one point. Its time is limited. Not sure what the maximum time was but we are sure that once it will be dismissed, it will take a while to resummon it again.

The best example is that our forces invaded Evelon, yesterday, and occupied two regions.

The king didn't take any action because he has no choice but to look after the Crown prince.

But, why didn't he summon the beast, then?

It's simple. He was biding his time to cast the spell again.

That means… right now, he doesn't have the beast to protect himself. If you two launch an attack now, he will be alone."

"What should we do now, Your Majesty? We can't drag the war for too long…" The Second Prince also chipped into the conversation. "We can't sacrifice thousands of soldiers for the sake of one person. The longer we drag this war, the more harm it will be done to us."

He supported Rikilda and Starlight's suggestion to attack.

This Prince was actually hoping for his brother to be killed. Once he dies, being the sole survivor, he will become the Crown Prince and later, the King.

His comment made the King's frown deeper. "I won't be listening to this nonsense. I made my decision and that's final."

"Then, how about allow me to go alone," Rikilda made another suggestion.

"You, alone?" The King was taken aback. Everyone else had the same expression. They looked at her as if she was brave or crazy… Going alone is akin to suicide.

Looking at their expressions, Rikilda said, "I'm not going there to fight them to the death. What if I will challenge the King to a duel and in the meantime, our Supreme Commander and a few more generals will rescue him within the meantime?"

"No, it's risky…" As the king tried to reject this proposal too, Rikilda interrupted him and continued to explain, "The king's warning is restricted to you, Your Majesty. Not for me… Perhaps, I might face heavy injuries but at the very least, the Crown Prince will be saved, right?"

All of a sudden, Blackfall, who was silent until now opened his mouth, "that won't be necessary, Lady Rikilda Llyne."

Everyone turned towards him.

He said, "The King and his beast left the capital city, just now. Just like we suspected… it looked like the King only dragged the battle because he was biding his time."

The King suddenly stood up from his seat, "what did you say?"

"I'm saying that we have to get ready to battle, right now," Blackfall said to him while grinning inside.

Meanwhile, Starlight was taken aback. 'How did I miss this?'

He hurriedly sent a message to Rigel to contact the spies.

"What about the Crown Prince?" Instead of focusing on the real issue, the King placed his entire attention on the well-being of his son.

In response to his question, Blackfall shook his head, "Well, the crown prince is no longer useful to the King. I'm afraid we can assume the worst."

"Commander Braille, go to Evelon and confirm it." The King then growled, "He killed two of my sons… I won't let him return alive."

*Ding! Aquilan Liawreck Evelon has been killed by Player Time Traveler.

*Ding! Zuweth wins the war against Evelon.

*Ding! Evelon kingdom turns into Evelon province

*Ding! Players and NPCs of Evelon turn into allies of the Zuweth kingdom and Llyne province.

"What!" Starlight and Blackfall shouted in surprise.

Two hours ago;

Somewhere in the Ormshire state, Wil was looking at the series of notifications of making another enemy by rejecting the citizenship.

"Okay. 3 are over and 6 to go… Let's hunt the remaining later…" Wil closed down the screen and summoned Leon.

Mounting on its back, he flew to the Scarlet town. From there, he was teleported to Deloris town using teleportation formation.

Using the prince medallion, he reappeared somewhere at level-300 wild zone.

A few players who are entering a nearby dungeon portal spotted him but he didn't pay any attention to them and summoned Leon once again to fly towards Evelon.

Who could have expected that he would luckily meet the King and the beast on the way…

As soon as the King spotted Wil, he immediately forgot about his revenge against Zuweth and roared in anger. "You... I'll kill you..."

On the other hand, Wil was calm. "I highly doubt it."

He then, showed five fingers. "In fact this is all it will take for me to remove you from this world..."

The Neo hybrid beast flapped its wings and dashed towards Wil and the lion.

Soon, the distance between them almost reduced to a few meters. Right then, Wil opened his mouth, "Gravity Suppression, Activate."

As soon as Wil unleashed the skill, instantly, the King felt the effect. As the gravitation force increased tremendously, he felt as if something was pushing him onto the ground.

Along with the beast, both of them suddenly collapsed onto the ground, making a giant crater.

Leon then stopped at the edge of the crater and Wil jumped from its back and landed before them.

"You… What did you do?" The Evelon's king was gritting his teeth in anger. He tried to get up but was stuck to the ground again.

The Neo-hybrid beast was the same too.

Wil didn't answer his question and unleashed another skill, "Absolute Ice control, Weapon mode, activate."

He didn't waste any time in piercing the ground with the Ice sword, freezing the king along with a part of the beast. It was done so that he won't bring out the King's medallion at the last second.

"Goodbye," He then raised his palm, facing it towards them, "Heavenly Push, All mana."

From the moment he unleashed gravity suppression to the king's death, only five seconds have been passed like Wil claimed earlier. Just five mere seconds...

Meanwhile, at an unknown place, Aria was observing all the battles. A frown appeared on this A.I. as it replayed the battle. "Abnormality…"
