Chapter 115 - Li Ling And The Stiff Dancing

The people who saw the two dancing would only be able to mutter a single word: "clumsy"

Although the two men looked really handsome even with their masks on, they were dancing in a really stiff manner and one kept stepping over the other's feet so there was no way that people would find this dance beautiful, but they won't be able to say that it wasn't enjoyable. It made them laugh so of course, it was a bit enjoyable.

Zhihao felt embarrassed as he saw the people chuckling amongst themselves. This small change in Zhihao's expression didn't go unnoticed by the man who leaned in closer to his ears and asked, "Don't like them laughing?"

Zhihao looked at the masked man and asked, "Who would want to be laughed at?"

The man stopped dancing as he heard this and his hand that was on Zhihao's shoulder moved as he whispered, "Then let's stop."

"Huh?"

Zhihao couldn't understand what the man was talking about, at least, not until he felt the man letting him go and taking a step back to bow his head in a somewhat of a perfect ninety-degree manner.

"Thank you for the dance."

What the hell was this situation?

Did this man really get so fed up with getting his toes stepped on that he decided to leave the dance midway through the song?

Zhihao was too embarrassed by the man's reaction. If you started a dance, it was common courtesy to complete it and if one partner walked away in the middle of a song, it meant they didn't want to dance along with the other person anymore. It was akin to rejection and it was Zhihao's first time getting rejected like this.

He felt like he had somehow upset the man, but he couldn't figure out how.

Zhihao didn't dare say anything to embarrass himself any further. He simply bowed back and left the man behind as he got out of the dance floor.

The woman who was after him still didn't seem to give up as she stood in front of him and it made Zhihao wonder if he had done the right thing, or should he just turn back around and beg that stranger to dance with him?

In any case, he had already turned his back to the masked elevator man so there was no way he could go back and use him as an excuse to get away from this woman.

"It is you, Mr. Zhihao, right?" The woman asked with a bright smile which made Zhihao want to run away.

"I think you got the wrong person," Zhihao quickly answered as he tried to avoid the woman by walking past her. They were wearing masks so there was no way this woman could recognize him, nor could she call him out for lying.

The woman wasn't going to let him go just like that. She caught hold of his arm as she cooed, "Why are you trying to lie? It's clearly you."

"It's not me." Zhihao tried to gently push her hand away, but her grip was too strong and she wasn't willing to let him get rid of her.

He walked further hoping that the woman lets go when she realizes that he wasn't going to pay her any attention, but this woman was a bit too shameless. Not only did she not let go, but she followed closely after Zhihao and wrapped her arm around his as she continued to pester him.

Zhihao no longer knew where he was going. All he wanted to do was get rid of this woman who seemed to have taken a fancy to him.

"Why are you trying to lie to me? I know it's you. Who else can be this handsome?"

"You can't even see my face."

"I don't need to see your face. You look handsome without having to flaunt your pretty face."

"I don't remember meeting you."

"Then make this our first meeting. You can call me Meimei."

"I don't like your name."

"Then you can call me anything you like. Nice to meet you Mr. Zhihao."

"I told you already, didn't I? That's not me."

"Then what is your name?"

Zhihao sighed as he glared at the woman before answering, "My name is... LingHao."

"LingHao? Sounds so lame," The woman chuckled as she commented and this made Zhihao dislike her even more, "Come up with a more believable name, Mr. LingHao."

"Please let go of me. I'm not comfortable with having someone walk so close to me."

The woman smiled even brightly as she heard this. "Then we can use this situation to get you comfortable."

"I would prefer it if you didn't."

The woman wasn't going to let him go that easily. She could sense that the man wasn't the slightest interested, but this didn't mean that he was going to be like this if she kept at it. She was sure that she had the skills to seduce someone so she wasn't worried about Zhihao's initial discomfort and dislike.

"Oh my god! I love that watch!" The woman exclaimed as she glanced at Zhihao's watch.

Zhihao looked at the woman and squinted. He was sure that the woman knew nothing about the watch and was simply trying to make small talks. It wasn't his first time dealing with such a situation so how could he not see through her tactics?

"This watch?" Zhihao looked down at his watch and suddenly felt like he really shouldn't have left the dance floor just like that. He should've at least apologized for upsetting the man and ruining his mood.

"Thank you," Zhihao heard a voice and he suddenly felt an arm wrap around his shoulder as the owner of the arm spoke to the girl, "It's mine."

The woman looked at the two in confusion and was unable to say a word.

Zhihao turned his head and glanced at the man whom he had already guessed the identity of.

The man looked back at him and smiled before he turned his eyes back at the woman who could clearly sense the hostility behind the man's glare.

The woman suddenly chuckled awkwardly as she spoke, "I see..."

She let go of Zhihao's hand and took a step back as she bowed and decided to leave them alone, "I'm sorry for disturbing you two."

It wasn't her fault. She wasn't even interested in Zhihao. It was her father who was forcing her to seduce the young man. When she heard about Zhihao's financial status and read through his profile, she was instantly hooked in. This man was like the best bachelor available in the country, so how could she simply say no to the offer of seducing him? She got dressed in her silky red dress that only a fool would not find attractive. She did everything she could to make herself seem as presentable as possible, but how was she to know that the man she was trying to seduce would turn out to be gay?

This was definitely not in her plan! She was super embarrassed and decided to collect the last remains of her dignity. There was no way she could change her gender at the spot so she decided to step down from the fight completely and maybe it was for the best since the man in the black mask already seemed to be plotting her murder.

If he was also in this party, there was no way he was a simple man and if he wasn't a simple man, it meant he was trouble. If she were to get on his bad side for troubling his boyfriend, she was sure that her future wouldn't look so bright.

When the woman had left, Zhihao turned his head towards the man and spoke, "Thank you."

"What do you mean Thank you? I didn't do anything. I only told her that this watch belonged to me."

When Zhihao thought about it, this really seemed to be the case. The man hadn't really helped him much. He had simply thanked the woman for complementing his watch. Whatever happened after was simply the woman reading in-between the lines and coming up with her own conclusion.

It wasn't like this man chased her off. It was her own choice to step back and go away.

"And I'm sorry." The man apologized.

"Huh?"

"You looked angry when you walked off." The man scratched his neck as he spoke.

Zhihao shook his head, "I wasn't angry. I'm sorry too. I think I offended you somehow."

"Offended?" The man seemed to be a bit surprised as he continued, "Is there some misunderstanding? I didn't want to force you to dance, that's why I stopped. I thought it was better if we could get a drink together instead."

Zhihao was surprised and a bit glad as he heard this.

The man pulled Zhihao along and sat him down on a chair as he spoke, "I hope you like drinking?"

Zhihao didn't enjoy liquor that much, but when he opened his mouth, he was shocked at himself for agreeing to the man, "Of course, I do."

He had promised his mother that he won't be drinking today, but at this moment, he let himself act impulsively and forgot everything about the promise he made with his mother.
