Chapter 150 - Li Ling's Job?

Zhihao was the one in charge of Ribot army 3X and since this robot was also a part of that army, it would naturally listen to only Zhihao. 

Li Ling looked at Zhihao and waited for the man to say or do something, but a minute passed and Zhihao still stood there like a piece of wood as he stared at the Ribot with great interest. 

"What are you thinking about?" Li Ling asked curiously. 

Zhihao glanced at Li Ling before looking back at the Ribot as he took a few steps forward, trying to get closer to the Ribot, "I'm wondering..." 

[About what?] 

Both Alvi and Li Ling were curious to know what Zhihao was wondering. 

Zhihao knocked the Ribot's head as he answered, "I'm wondering how I'm supposed to be controlling this thing." 

"..." 

[That's it? Tch-] 

[And here I thought you were coming up with a great plan.] 

Li Ling lightly glared at Alvi before glancing over at Zhihao and the Ribot, "Just try telling it to do something." 

Zhihao nodded as he spoke, "Stand up!" 

"..." 

The Ribot remained in the same position as if it had suddenly become deaf to Zhihao's commands. 

Zhihao, "Did the hearing box also break?" 

Alvi rolled her eyes as she took a few steps forward and analyzed the Ribot before responding. 

[Maybe it doesn't want to listen to you.] 

Li Ling also came forward and walked up behind the Ribot as he analyzed its neck before saying, "I think it's broken." 

Zhihao looked at the man, "Broken?" 

Li Ling nodded as he replied, "Let me try to fix it." 

"You know how to fix it?" Zhihao was a bit shocked. Fixing robots was certainly not as easy as fixing a car and not many people knew how to do it. Even Zhihao himself didn't know how to fix a robot. He couldn't even detect if it was broken so of course, he wouldn't know how to fix it.

"My job-" Li Ling immediately stopped himself from carelessly giving the answer away like that. 

It was his job so of course, he knew how to fix this robot. 

He had spent years learning technology and making A.L.V.I. 

Possibly, one of the best AI in the world. 

To say that he didn't know how to fix such a simple robot would be ridiculous. 

Although he had stopped himself from saying any further, Zhihao had still caught on to the short answer he had said, "Job?" 

Li Ling gulped as he tried his best not to give himself out. He focused on fixing the robot as he answered, "I once got to work along with robots." 

"Oh..." Zhihao responded as he looked attentively at what Li Ling was doing, "Now that I think about it, I don't think you've ever told me about your job." 

Li Ling's hand almost slipped but it was only a small reaction that didn't even last for more than a few seconds. Cold sweat started forming on his forehead as he wondered what he was going to say. 

"Where do you work?" 

This timing... How could the timing be so bad?! 

Li Ling was already feeling guilty about always hiding things and lying to Zhihao. He had felt so guilty that he was currently in a dilemma where he wondered if he should just come out clean and at such a moment, Zhihao was straightforwardly asking him this question?! 

He suddenly felt uneasy. 

He didn't want to lie to him but he couldn't just spout the truth either. 

"I work at a company." 

"I already know that," Zhihao chuckled, "I'm asking you the name of your company." 

Li Ling gulped as he heard this question. He kept his eyes on the broken wires that were located under the steel cover behind the robot's neck as he answered, "Omelas..."

"Ah...." It took Zhihao a whole minute to finally process the word and after processing it in his mind, he snapped his head and looked at Li Ling in shock, "Omelas?! You mean 'The Omelas'?!" 

Li Ling's hands paused for a mere second as he reluctantly nodded his head, "Hmm."

Zhihao was shocked. In fact, No. 'Shocked' was an understatement. 

He was so stunned that his muscles went stiff, his brain went haywire, his heart went berserk and his mouth wouldn't close as he looked at Li Ling with his eyes wide open. 

"You have got to be kidding me.... Right?" 

Li Ling shook his head as he turned to look at Zhihao and answered, "It's true." 

"What...? How?! When?! I mean, how come you never told me?! You're really serious about that?! You work for..." This was probably the first time Zhihao was losing his composure so openly. He had at least tried to seem calm on the outside all the previous times but at this moment, it seemed that the shock was so hard that he forgot all about trying to look calm and collected. He didn't even know what he was supposed to say at this moment. He gulped as he kept on staring at Li Ling, "Omelas?" 

Li Ling took a deep breath in before breaking out into a smile as he cut a wire and twisted it with another wire before standing and looking at Zhihao with a smirk as he asked, "Don't I look like I work with them?" 

"You definitely do not!" Zhihao answered without a second thought. 

"..." Li Ling suddenly felt as if he had been dissed by his beloved A-Zhi. 

"No!" Zhihao's eyes went wide as he waved his hand around and tried to defend himself, "That's not what I meant! Y-you look cool too! But... I mean, I'm not saying you don't look cool enough but..." Zhihao was bad with words, especially when he was too shocked to form a sentence that made sense. 

Li Ling chuckled as he looked at Zhihao stumbling over his own words. 

Zhihao's ears turned red as he suddenly prayed for the ground to swallow him up as a whole. He felt as if he had embarrassed himself enough for the day. He thought he would be able to show his cool side to Li Ling in this level but instead of showing his 'cool' side, he ended up exposing his flustered, embarrassed side that nobody would ever find appealing. 

Li Ling tried his best to hold in his laughter as he commented, "I'm suddenly reminded of something." 

"Reminded?" 

"When we met. You were just like this back then too." 

Zhihao: Dear ground, why aren't you swallowing me up. Just let me die already! I never signed up for this embarrassment! 

Li Ling looked at him lovingly but Zhihao who had his head down, trying his best to not show his face to Li Ling, couldn't see the love displayed in Li Ling's eyes, "It's cute." 

Zhihao's head snapped up as he frowned, "Did you just call me cute?" 

Li Ling patted his head as he asked, "I just stated facts. A-Zhi is the cutest man I have ever met."

"I'm not cute! I'm handsome and..." Zhihao immediately stopped himself from finishing what he was about to say. 

I'm handsome and hot! Cool and mature! You can ask all my fans! That's what they say about me! 

Li Ling couldn't hold in his laughter anymore, "A-Zhi is so damn cute!" 

Zhihao frowned with an unimpressed facial expression, "I'm not cute!" 

"Really?" Li Ling snickered, "That's a pity," He sighed before adding, "I really like cute guys. They make me want to kiss them." 

"..." Zhihao suddenly felt as if he was being tricked but since it was Li Ling who was tricking him, he was okay with it, "I'm cute!" 

"Eh?" 

"I said I'm cute! I'm the most cutest man alive!" The heat surged up on Zhihao's cheeks. He had never felt so embarrassed before this. He felt as if he was insulting himself but he still continued, "I'm super duper cute!" 

Li Ling broke out laughing as he clutched onto his stomach which was now almost starting to ache. This was too much fun! 

He never knew Zhihao would actually say it himself and he never knew he would like to hear Zhihao complementing himself! 

Zhihao looked at Li Ling expectantly as he asked, "Since I'm cute, where is my kiss?" 

Alvi who was being thoroughly ignored at this moment had a face that was twisted in disgust as she saw the two plainly flirting and playing the role of two fools. She glanced at the Ribot that was still kneeling on the floor. 

[As expected.] 

[Robots are probably better than stupid humans.] 

She stepped towards it and completed the work Li Ling had left behind to flirt with Mastermo. She interchanged a few of the wires and closed the lid on top before smacking its head and waking it up. 

The Ribot immediately stood up and its head bumped against Li Ling's bum that was right in front of it. 

Li Ling's foot slipped as his eyes went wide and he fell forward into the open hands of Zhihao.
